  1. Nothing I can try to change will keep that Smiley face from popping in there, it should be an 8! I even typed it out and it still took it lolol!
  2. I had sautéed mushrooms on my mushy phase(weeks three - week 8) but maybe around 5-6 weeks, also tried stuffed mushroom(cheese) and both were fine if I chewed well...salad I had to wait until 8 weeks when I was released to solids and it was my first meal!!!! Soooo yummy! I eat it frequently but very little as I fill up on my protein first but when it's time, enjoy it!!! Having something fresh & crisp was the best feeling!
  3. Thanks guys it's so exciting!! I'm amidst a rough patch in life my Aunt was very sick and I was able to fly up from VA to NH to spend some awesome time with her a few weeks ago and she was doing great, getting around, I even got to color her hair, my Mom left a few days later than me and she was doing even better then, but sadly 5 days later she took a bad turn and she passed away last Saturday! We are back in Nh for the services(yesterday and today) and ironically I was taking the pic to show a friend that figures my hair came out good amidst a blizzard which would kill it for sure lol! But anywho it's been an emotional and physically exhausting month, I'm looking forward to getting back home and putting my concentration back into things and actually just got released to go to the gym again(I had an enlarged spleen, still do) I wouldn't trade this craziness for the world tho, I got spend time with someone who meant the world to me and I know she was proud of my weight loss when she saw me last! Thanks again for the kind words I can't wait for the belly fat to go, bc I am sick of IT!
  4. I am down 43lbs 211-168 in 3 months...day to day I struggle to see changes! My belly is not changing but everywhere else is, this is depressing bc while I am down a size or two I could be down more if I was proportionate! This leads me to feel like I'm stuck! I have been stalled for a few weeks losing very little(maybe 1-2lbs) but today I had an AHA moment when I saw this selfie! I have another 55lbs to lose but hurray for changes even if it's just my face
  5. I missed a call from them last night saying they were faxing my surgeon the scripts...does this mean they are covered??? They did say we have a couple questions also so give us a call back. I'm preparing to drive to NH for a funeral so I didn't call yet! I hope that first step contacting my doc was a positive sign!
  6. I just got a BJs membership half off on Zulily bc they also carry it and I prefer the kind with the red top so my lips don't get all chalky lol and Costco carries the foil top(not a big deal honestly but since i got such a great deal in the membership price I bought in they are also slightly cheaper at SAMs & BJs...I've seen them also in four packs at many grocery stores, Harris Teeter, Giant to name a couple and Walgreens sells them online!
  7. I saw them on clearance a few weeks ago and snatched them up for that exact reason plus the fox was perfect! My kids love that song(if you can call it a song lol)
  8. I wonder if my prescription plan would pay it's also CVS Caremark my insurance did not cover my surgery. Wdyt?
  9. I'm having 2 little appetizers of manchego cheese wrapped in Serrano ham(maybe not the lowest fat but 9grams protein), a few raspberries and a few smoke almonds!
  10. I am now on regular food and it is slowly getting better, so now I take a capful of Miralax every other day...not fun to be constipated! Try to keep up with the Miralax & fluids, my surgeon warned me against anything with senna in it as you become defendant on it, Miralax was his suggestion. Good luck!
  11. I've had beef & broccoli, chicken egg foo yong, beef teriyaki and recently I had chicken lettuce wraps. The first two on mushies and the second two now that I'm released to all food! The beef & broccoli at our fav restaurant is super tender so it was very easy to eat.
  12. Here when we say Equal they know you don't want to double sweeten it...I've never had to clarify, now McDonalds coffee another story, everytime I say no liquid sugar bc inevitably I see on the screen Decaf Coffee add liquid sugar Add 4 Equal lol!
  13. Go right ahead, I didn't make it haha! I'm still amazed how how little I eat, tho I feel like even in the two weeks of being on regular food my tummy has stretched a tiny bit, or maybe just healing along nicely...I am still within my guidelines, but this terrifies me! A bit if fear isn't such a bad thing tho
  14. Try one at Starbucks, I just order Iced passion tea and have them add Equal, and lately I've been using a straw shhhh don't tell
  15. I was in Protonix for 10+ years and about a month before surgery it stopped working, weird! He put me on Prevacid Solutabs post op then switched me to regular Prevacid after one month! He also told me Icoukd double up and take two pills one in am one in on of I had any issues...I did and it worked! For what it's worth I used to take double Protonix for a while too...40mg 2x/day, perhaps put a call in to them and see if this will work, typically they say to do it to get you out of a "bad spell" I'd make sure they ok it tho! Good Luck I've struggled with GERD for so long and he wasn't the slightest worried about me having this surgery, tho his partner that did my Endoscopy figured we might change to Bypass...he seems to think I'll get relief when the weight is going away! So far so good, down 40lbs in 10 weeks! Hope you get some relief too!
  16. I had a stuffy nose too but no fever, so they went ahead(I called the day before) Made sure everyone knew especially anesthesia...they also gave my some nasal spray and puffs on my inhaler before I went in, all was textbook! Hope it works out the same for you!
  17. Agree with above, but for me I was on full liquids 2 weeks then mushy foods 6 weeks. At 8 weeks out I was released to eat "regular food" that being said they mean normal healthy food! I am not to have bread, pasta or rice for a year! I can eat a small amount of potato. Have I had a chip yup, but for me it's not worth it! I even tried ice cream(which I'm not really a sweets person) I felt fine after a few small bites but my head stopped me and said "why?" Just because I can now doesn't mean I should! I paid cash for this surgery, so I suppose I am really vested in giving it my best! My advice while it's hard to refrain from those yummy treats, do bc it's so easy to grab a handful next time From my perspective Olives are ok say on a salad but not as a snack(I could eat a mountain of them) but in the big picture they can come back as well as other things in moderation! I'd keep your list and bring it to your next visit! Best of luck, it's so worth it, tho I'm only 10 weeks out I am so thankful I have my sleeve! Edit: as for the salad I had to wait to 8 weeks and that with BRISKET was first meal in 10 weeks how funny those were two of your choices! I didn't touch on all your questions but at some point you will be released to all foods and then it's up to you to decide what is worthy enough to fit in your tiny sleeve! Just for fun here's a pic of the "Smokin' Salad" my hubby and I "shared" when I got released! I couldn't even finish all my veggies but man it was so fresh and so yum! Had it again tonight actually!
  18. My fav was cream of celery and I mixed in some unjury chicken protein powder!
  19. A lot of stuff gives me heartburn especially Crystal Light so I've found my fav and I've stuck to it, Iced Tazo Passion tea, it's fruity, caffeine free and sugar free! Preop I enjoyed it mixed with Lemonade at Starbucks so one day I inquired what was caffeine free and the barista suggested I try it without the lemonade! I bought a box on the spot and now I buy it by the 4-pack on Amazon! It's wonderful and doesn't give me heartburn woop woop! One giant tea bag makes 64 oz! Wowza and getting you the link I see it dropped $8 from last week...sweet! I also like mint tea, iced! Tazo Iced Passion Filtered Tea - 6 bags per pack -- 4 packs per case. http://amzn.com/B0083COLGG

  22. Oh man I am so sorry! I had a similar experience on Christmas Eve, I was in tons of pain slight fever on call said I think your dehydrated get some fluids tmw and if your fever goes up or doesn't go down go to the ER well it was down! So the day after it goes back up worried I have a leak they send me to ER(I'm 4 weeks out at this point) turns out my sleeve is perfect but I have Splenomegaly and it's not just enlarged but HUGE! They send me home with no further labs or tests! My surgeon calls in the am very worried, sent for stat Mono test which was negative :/ so for now we've been taking the wait & see approach, the pain I had was likely my spleen squishing my stomach closed! That has resolved but my ultrasound yesterday still shows splenomegaly! They said I likely caught a virus and it just attacked my spleen! Regardless I feel like crap(and have for a month) and now no exercise either until it's back to normal! It's not the exact problem but I get where you're coming from and how you feel! Hang in there it's all so scary, but chances are it isn't your sleeves fault . You're in my thoughts keep us updated!
