What type of cream are you using? Whatever creams you use will be up to 40 times more effective. They work like a tiny lawn aerator.

I didn't see this in the article, but clean them with Efferdent or any brand of denture cleaner... No joke!! LOL

They aren't particularly comfortable, but they work! If you have someone who can do it for you it probably works faster. It's hard to inflict pain on yourself. That being said, it is really not that bad. I have heard of people who use numbing cream, but have also heard that those creams aren't good for your face. Perhaps numbing cream on other parts of the body wouldn't be so bad though.

I'm 3 weeks post op and just started "blenderized"foods. Prior to starting the blenderized foods, I developed a couple of sores on my tongue that are still there. My tongue is pink, not white. When I chew my bariatric Vitamin it really irritates the sores. Did anyone else develop sores on your tongue? What helps?

Are all bariatric vitamins chewable? I just don't like the taste, and was hoping that later on I would be able to take one that wasn't chewable or gummy. If so, I'd love a recommendation.

I'm curious. Do the noodles taste like pasta or like chicken? I have purchased the ingredients, but I have to wait a couple more weeks to give them a try.

I am so sorry to hear you are having regrets. I have heard some depression is to be expected after the surgery, so hopefully your regrets will be temporary and you will soon be feeling better about your decision. Hang in there!! Brighter days (and more food choices) are just around the corner.

To lose anyone suddenly is always such a tragedy, no matter what the circumstance. To lose someone who has been through this surgery is especially sad to those who participate here since we all have faced, or are facing, the same fears Rox surely faced, whether the the surgery was done in the US or elsewhere. We know the risks are minimal, but we would not be human if we didn't consider the risks. I pray her family finds peace in knowing the surgery was something Rox desired to do for herself and not something she was coerced into.

Interesting fact about PB2: "There's a little sleight-of-hand with the nutritional comparisons of PB2 and Peanut Butter. 12g of the PB2 has 55 calories, 2.84g fat, 3.75g carb, 4.37 Protein. Then you mix it with a Tbsp (15g) of Water to get your finished product. A 32 g serving of Peanut Butter is 190 calories, 16g fat, 6g carb, 8g protein. Comparing weight-to-weight (32g PB2) = 145 calories, 7.5g fat, 10g carb, 11.65g protein. So basically the powder has 1/2 the fat of real PB, 65% more carbs, and 50% more protein. But only 25% less calories. OK, lastly, what this really means is that you need 22 grams of "PB2" to equal one serving of peanut butter from a protein/carb nutrition factor, not the 12 grams stated on their web site. 100 calories. But you WOULD be saving 11g of fat in that serving."

Great article! I too struggle with getting in 64 oz of fluids daily. I have never been much of a drinker and have lived that way without any significant health issues all my 60 years. Until I hit 40 I was considered skinny and rarely drank plain water. It wasn't until after menopause set in that I began to put on weight. Drinking more water had no effect on weight loss. My own unscientific hypotheses is that, like most things, your requirement for water is based on your own body's needs and not on a quota.

I was walking upright and feeling human again in a week. By two weeks I went back to work. I had a lot of numbness for over a year. I'm just now getting all the feeling back. I didn't have a c section, but I did have a hysterectomy. The tummy tuck was a lot harder to recover from. Everyone recovers differently. So far the sleeve has been a breeze, no problems and was back at work on Thursday after surgery on Monday. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones.

I had a tummy tuck and muffin top removal (extended tummy tuck) two years ago when I weighed 165. I weighed more after the surgery than before, I'm sure it was the fluids. I didn't have a whole lot of extra fat on my tummy, just loose skin. The recovery time was about 2 weeks. I also had a breast lift at the same time. I gained 30 pounds after the tummy tuck. Thank goodness as I'm losing weight now the tummy is still staying tight. I guess I kind of did things backward!! I believe the reason I gained weight after the surgery was because I thought "now that my tummy is tight and my muffin top gone I can eat whatever I want". Wrong! It just all went to my thighs and upper stomach instead. One thing I have realized since my tummy tuck/breast lift is that it created a hiatal hernia. Since my sleeve and hernia repair, I have had no more issues with my hiatal hernia and have been sleeping better than I have in two years.
