    African American Sleevers

As far as I know they don't pay for tucks( removal of skin and fat) in the classical sense, but will pay for some procedures like a panniectomy (removal of excess skin of the lower abdomen) if it causes rashes, skin breakdown, or limitations in a person's ability to perform daily activities. Of course this needs to be documented by your doctor in order for it to be approved. I think they may also cover removal of excess arm skin as well under the same criteria.

    August Sleevers?

Oh noooo! I'm sure you were taking some time off for the surgery, but that is a complication no one needs. I'm hoping the pneumonia will Be resolved quickly so you can get back to healing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

  7. I was sleeved on 8/19 and my license expires in November. Even though I could have renewed it several months before the expiration date, I plan on going on the last day possible (I will be nearly 3 months post op at that time). I can't wait to see my progress by then!

I'm so glad I came across this thread. I'm nearing three weeks post op and have read so much about the dreaded "three week stall". Going to breathe and do the math. Thanks OP.

Woo hoo! It will be here before you know it! Most of us know that waiting for insurance approval seemed like siting on pins and needles!
  12. A coworker had it done last year. To be honest I had my mind set on the lap band until I went to an informational seminar held by a local bariatric surgeon.

    Stretch Marks

This has been one of my concerns also. I've been dry brushing my skin before i shower and I follow up with lotion and bio oil. I'm only 9 days post op so I can't say if it works or not. Been thinking about stri-victin or maderma if that doesn't help.

    Surgery August 20!

FinAlly feeling well enough to log in. Still struggling to get fluids and Protein in. Otherwise I've felt mostly "discomfort", but no real pain. Was surprised to see that the incisions weren't as scary as some I've seen on here
