  1. I remember that feeling well! It seemed like I was cramming for a test or pop quiz trying to learn all I could about the sleeve, what to expect, ect. I know you will be fine because you came to the right place to learn (well here and youtube rather). Your day will be here before you know it! Best of luck to you!
  2. Oh why didn't I know about this??? It is a brilliant suggestion.

    Second day

The first three days of that liquid diet were HARD, but didn't seem as bad after that. You got this and will be on the losers bench in no time!
  4. I'm BCBS basic and while I've not had the revision, my total hospital bill for the sleeve and 2 nights in the hospital was $300. Just make sure your hospital, surgeon, anesthesiologist (I.e. EVERBODY) is in the network. Best of luck to you! I think basic is the way to go with respect to these types of procedures.

    What to expect?

You are going to be fine blueshea and you came to the right place to find out more!! Doing as much research as possible is the key. Youtube is also a good resource as well. Not to self promote, but Im 5 weeks out and have been chronicling my journey on youtube as well. Posted a video last week on what I wish I had known before surgery- check it out. I'm under 1gorgeousgodzilla. Best of luck to you!

    woot got the call "Approved"

Great news! Your surgery will be here in no time!
  7. I would think you should be good for a couple of months. Most people want their surgery done YESTERDAY, but my surgeon had some that wanted to wait a couple of months due to school, vacations, ect. I would think waiting til January would be pushing it, but why not err on the side of caution, call BCBS, and ask?

    BCBS Federal Standard option

Allll RIGGHHTT aafe71! I've had my fingers crossed and they were tired lol! Keep us posted. I feel like 5 weeks is too early to say this, but I consider the sleeve one of the best decisions I've ever made.
  9. Had my first bit of a mixed green salad with grilled chicken on it. Oh sweet baby Jesus it was gooood!

    Bruised Belly Button

I'm five weeks post op and the belly button one had caused me so much grief. It looks like a crater and had oozed green puss for the longest. I underwent scans to make sure there were no sleeve leakages and all was well on that front. I put a bandaid on thinking it would "protect" it from friction, but apparently that was the wrong thing to do. Since I've started giving it air and keeping it clean it has started to scab, but then clothes will mess it up again!! Brought butterfly bandages this weekend inthe hopes that it will allow it to breathe while being somewhat protected

    BCBS Federal Standard option

I am BCBS federal basic and it took me about 6-7 days to hear something . I think I called every day from day 5 onward. They will tell you, even if they haven't had a chance to notify the doctor yet.

    What should i pack?

I was glad I brought my comfy pillow. The ones in the hospital sucked a**. It was also good for the ride home. Chapstick, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, sports bra, underwear, and feminine products (even if it isn't your time). Mine came early while in the hospital

  17. Don't quote me, but I think gamergirl and her spouse (gamerguy I suppose) were sleeved at or near the same time, there may be others but she's about 2 months post op and came to mind. Since we can't tag members in this thing, you may want to shoot her a private message. Best of Luck to you!

Crystal that is some serious progress in one months time! Congrats!! I hate you are feeling weak though. Have you tried the isopure zero carb rtd drinks in the glass bottle? They aren't milky, and I've had worst tasting beverages.

    Toddler spoon

I carry several baby spoons in a snack ziplock bag in my purse. I can't whip them Out all the time, but I do when I can. I often forget to limit my intake (especially when drinking cold water during a workout) and need all the reminders I can get

Something interesting about all the profile pics

Yes like that. Only they would be too teensy to see when on the site or heaven forbid, on the mobile app. Laura and Butters, is that really you?? I've been a member since August and until i saw these pictures, really didn't know much about your starting points. Y'all have always been slender to me, but these pics are proof that it wasn't always these case. Butter, were you a bouncer in your former life?
