  1. I was sleeved on sept 6. My starting weight was 360 and I was 335 the day of surgery. I am 320 today. My clothes fit better and I feel better, but I am wondering if I am losing weight quickly enough. I thought it would come off a little faster than it is. Is anyone else having the same problem? How is everyone else dealing with this? Any advice would be great.
  2. Thanks everyone, I am glad to know I am not the only one this is happening to. I don't seem to be having a problem doing water, tea, etc. I have two kinds of protein powder that I am using... Syntrax nectar and bariatric fusion. The nectar has been a little too sweet for me and the fusion makes me so full after about four sips. I may have to try the greek yogurt and see how that goes. Mostly I am just trying to stay hydrated.
  3. Hi everyone, Well like the title says, I am four days post op and I am having the hardest time getting my protein in. The problem is that I just don't want the shakes. At this point water is about the only thing that tastes good. I have been forcing myself to get one in a day, but that is about all I can do. I just get too full. I am just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and if anyone has any advice.

    dead skin?

I am just wondering if anyone else is experiencing lots of dead skin? I am two day post op today, and during my liquid diet and after my shower today I have been noticing lots of dead skin coming of. I have been keeping myself very hydrated and always moisturized before surgery, so I am thinking it isn't related to anything like. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

    August sleevers progress

I am two days post op and I am feeling very good. My highest weight was 360, my weight on Friday before surgery was 235. I. Cant wait to lose more!
  7. Well tomorrow is the day for me. I am getting sleeved first thing in the morning. I have to say that the biggest thing I am worried about is the possibility of my liver being too large to safely operate. I did follow the liquid diet fairly well. I can't say I followed it perfectly as I did eat soup once a day which I was not supposed to. I do have to say that the liquid diet has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I did manage to lose 19 pounds on it. I am a little worried about pain afterwards, but I will be off of work for two weeks to recover. I am excited amd terrified as I know that my life will be totally different after tomorrow.
  8. Feeling so frustrated. I have been doing okay on my liquid diet. I have been managing to do two shakes and and half a can of soup, for a total of about 60 grams of protein. I am getting very burnt out on my protein shakes and am extremely frustrated by that. I am doing well weight wise and have lost over 16 pounds, but I am feeling like such a failure. My mood has also plummeted. I am not feeling as excited as I was on the first couple of days. Not sure if this is something everyone goes through or not. Any advice would be appreciated.

    5 months post op, -83 lbs & I'm gonna be a mom!

    Congratulations!! What an exciting time!
  10. I am on day three of my liquid diet. I did okay the past two days, but tonight I broke down and cooed a can of light progresso beef pot roast soup. I did drain part of the broth. I just literally could not take it any more. I will do better tomorrow. This is the hardest thing I have ever done, but I am determined to make this work. I am not going to beat myself up about my slip up tonight..... I am just going to do better tomorrow.
  11. I start my liquid diet tomorrow which consists of four protien shakes per day (400 calories). I am allowed to have sugar free beverages and coffee or tea. I am feeling very anxious about this, as I have never attempted anything like this before. I honestly don't know if I can do it, but I am GOING TO DO IT. I am doing this for myself because I am sick of watching life go by from the sidelines. I am ready to get in there and participate! I am just reminding myself that this too shall pass.
