    Help! I'm Hungry!

When I was really early out like you the best thing in the world was beef flavor Top Roman obviously not the noodles but boil them with the seasoning mix it does make a difference. I don't know what it was about that broth that just felt and tasted like a filling meal, try it out I know the clear liquid stage is difficult but keep sipping all day, good luck

    Replacement for Dr. Aceves?

Also I forgot to ask why do you say he has never performed a surgery of his own? He is listed as a bariatric surgeon on Dr. Aceves website, to have that title wouldn't he have to be a bariatric surgeon?

    Replacement for Dr. Aceves?

I was sleeved by Dr. Aceves 7/13. Although Beltran hasnt established a name of his own its only a matter of time I think. Its my understanding that Beltran was present during Aceves surgeries and worked under him as part of the bariatric team at Almater hospital. I got to meet him during my stay there. I would look at him as a Dr. Who had the privilege to be trained by a MASTER of the craft Dr. Aceves. I think Dr. Beltran will step into the big shoes left by Aceves and will keep Mexicali Bariatric functioning as it has. There are a lot of awsome people behind the scenes such as Dr. Campos, Yolanda and Carla who I really dont believe would stand behind just anyone if they didnt believe in them as a surgeon. That just my opinion right or wrong it is what it is.

Dr when you get back from Mexico?

Hi there, nice to see someone from around my area on here (Desert Hot Springs). You should def let you're pcp know about surgery so he can run blood work when it comes time. Ask you surgeon when he recommends it be done. Who will sleeve you? I chose Dr. Aceves exactly 10 months ago and have lost tremendously. Any way I can help feel free to ask.
  5. Sooo glad to hear everything went well for you, I knew it would.

    Throwing up white foam?!?

FOAMIES, I have no idea what the medical explanation for barfing foam is but I know it happens to tons of sleevers I'm about 9 months post op and it really doesn't happen much at all now, it was more common the first month.
  7. Hi everyone, that stupid bacteria is causing gastritis for me which is PAINFUL. I've already finished the antibiotics Dr. Aceves prescribed but they dont seem to have worked, I'll have to drive out and see him probably next week. Anyways my pain started around 5 months out from surgery just an FYI if you feel a painful burning sensation right in your gut (might include backache) go to your Dr. Immediately the pain really hurts.

    weight loss stall...help

Girl one thing I've learned, it's never consistent. I've lost around 110 lbs since surgery on 7/15/13 which I'm soo happy about but I've gone up to a month and not lost a lb. Then I loose like 10 very quickly. Learn to accept, don't get frustrated, which I a first did. Your body will loose the weight at your body's pace, everybody's different so don't compare just be patient. GOOD LUCK
  9. Awesome best decision you'll ever make. Message me anytime if you want a friend along the way
  10. BEYOND well worth it. Keep in mind that while the fee for Aceves is more, it includes a private up scale mexican hospital. Also I haven't had insurance since way before surgery, but I followed all instruction to a tee and heeled perfectly. Good luck with you're decision, and if you have any question feel free to ask
  11. 3. OK got it. Yes definitely, Dr. Campos will facilitate all that info. I personally live in Palm Springs Ca an easy 2 hour drive to Mexicali so I just plan on going to him for blood work. All in all I know you'll be soo happy with the whole experience just as I am they really know what their doing the hospital and staff are great and as an added bonus nobody ever mentions on here while at the hospital you will meet 2 amazingly sweet ladies Yolanda and Karen they are part of the coordinating team as well as Nina and Gaby. They are at the hospital till late in the afternoon every day, remember they are not nurses or hospital employees they but these ladies will assist in ANYTHING making sure you receive nothing but the best care possible. Any other questions you might have send me a message I'd be happy to help.
  12. Hi Jen, I was sleeved by Dr. Aceves 7-15-13 I'm down about 110 lbs and couldn't be happier with the whole experience. To help you with you're questions 1. In regards to how much money to carry what I can tell you is the PPI and pain med we're told to purchase cost me around 150 US $. Everything else varies on your travel situation. 2. You've probably been working with Nina regarding all pre - op info, well she has a counterpart named Gaby who handles all post - op inquiries so any question you ever have you contact her and if she can't help she forwards your email to the Dr.'s. Who in turn reply to you in a very timely manner, so you don't ever go clueless about anything these ladies are on the ball. 3. I forgot the question lol
  13. I went to him July 15th so I'm about 4 and a half months out. He was the absolute best decision. My experience could not have been any better, there's just nothing I can complain about. You'll receive the best care don't worry about a thing, good luck
  14. Don't even sweat it girl I had to drop 50+ to go from a 22 to 20 then I dropped 20lb and went to a size 18. Everyone is different and pretty soon you to will be shopping for new smaller jeans.
