    5 Days Post-Op

I recall feeling chest pain that I associated with Gas. Gas X strips and forcing myself to walk helped greatly. I know I felt encouraged to get my liquid in bc you can get very sick if you don't stay hydrated. I hope that helps some. Take care!

    Lime question

Do you have a nutritionist? You might ask. I don't have one...but my son has been seeing a special needs nutritionist for years and she prefers for us to feed him alkaline vs acidic foods (he has a ton of gi issues) Anyways, from the beginning, she has always had us add a few drops of lime juice to his pear juice or Water to make alkaline...and encouraged us to cook foods from the acidic foods list with it. I have been wondering abt it too, because I have always squeezed fresh lemon or lime in my water and I miss it. In a normal "non surgical" stomach, it's a great acid reducer...but I just don't know if the conditions are the same... Btw, when I say he had GI issues, I mean he had reflux, so bad, that from age of one to age two he only gained one pound, had to go to feeding therapy to be taught to eat all over again...we are talking SERIOUS special needs nutritionist! it took about 5 years but he's doing great now eats better than most 7 year olds!

I am eating my first aygg!

Good luck, Gina! I am trying again today, too. I will have to look for this apple turkey jerkey! What dept is it in? I just brought Soup and eggs and vegetables today. But I have been adding unflavored Protein to soup and yogurt. Have you tried that? I read it on here somewhere. Also using unflavored greek yogurt like sour cream in my soup and on my refried Beans...it's so good!

I am eating my first aygg!

Yes...if you don't chew carefully or take small enough bites, they get stuck!!

I am eating my first aygg!

Yes, I'm eating refried. At first I even mashed them up even more with my fork, but they were soft enough. Have also been adding a little cheese. The first time I opened a can, I thought I was opening a steak dinner!

I know EXACTLY what you mean. My fridge can't hold anything else!!! The easiest thing for me, has been the Beans and yogurt...but the turkey I got was from dickeys. It is so soft I think a person could eat it without chewing! and then my my husband and mom were making something w rotisserie chicken, same thing, super soft, very easy to eat. But I still chewed like crazy. I'm going to eat *that* again! Lol! It was very good, in fact, I've had it several times.

I am eating my first aygg!

Isn't it nice to get a taste of the real world? Did it go down ok? I hope so!!! I've been eating eggs, Beans, turkey, chicken, carrots, green beans, yogurt, some soft fruit, but the only thing I can finish at this point is the egg or yogurt. Let me know how you do when you start eating more...it all tastes very good, but I'm stressed over not eating the right amounts!

    Stuck in my throat?

Well, I hadn't even thought of cutting them in half! DOH! I don't know why it even took me so long to figure out it was my pill that was giving me so much grief! I love this group! I wish I had found it way before the day after my surgery!

    Stuck in my throat?

It's finally going away. Thank you. These are what my doctor gave me...a sample, I guess...and so I hadn't bought any. I'm going to get chewable a tomorrow. Seems like that would make a better sample for patients fresh out of surgery...

    Stuck in my throat?

Ok...so...goodness! How long did it take to go away! This feels like 3 hours, now! At least! I'm trying to swallow a little warm water at a time...this is a real fun ruiner! I will remember this about the vitamins!
