How do i refocus....
Hi you need to ask yourself why are you having these feelings of self sabotage , are you afraid of success? Are you stressing out with every day life that's making you want to result in binge eating or comfort eating? Remember your poor food choices is what got you in this situation, why not journal in a book, go for a walk to deal with your stressors or get a therapist to discuss your issues . I would focus on one day at a time and what is driving me to the point I want to satisfy the crave to binge eat. Good luck .

Does everyone have to wait six months before surgery?
My program and insurance required a 6 month weight management programs, lab work, EKG, exercise class, 2 four hour meetings with the surgeon, pre surgery class, support meetings, as well as they offer continued assistance 1 year after your surgery it has been 8 months so far and I can't have surgery until may 5/14 because of the long surgery weight with the surgeon , but it is a center of excellence and I must admit you learn a great deal as well as get a big binder to refer to . .

Only met with doctor once...
Everyone program is different I had to do a 6 month weight management , meet with the nutritionist , get lab work, meet with the shrink, attend a exercise class, attend a pre surgery class, weigh in, support groups, and 2 4 hour meetings with the surgeon, as well as get on the waiting list of my surgery due to long wait list at the center of excellence it has now been 8 months and surgery is not until May 5 /14. They want to make sure you are very knowable about what is going on S well S they have the consultant help you the first year after surgery.

I have approached and cancelled this MANY times- advice!
Hi I agree with Mellie May you need support for yourself as well as your husband, due to your existing health conditions I would make the choice to be healthy and have the surgery, you have cancel the surgery twice and you still have the same issues that continue to get worse. You are not saying good by to food forever you are just learning more responsible ways along with a tool to be healthy. You can still go out with your husband and have a great time by selecting foods that are healthy for you and you can always have left overs later on . I really think that you should not let fear keep you from doing what is right for you which is getting healthy. Please keep in mind you are trying to be healthy not stay in a path that leads to long term medications as well as life threatening illness. Good luck.

Specific friend advice needed! Pic included
You look great and congrats on your weight loss and your choice to be healthy, I am sorry that your friend is rude and yes I am going to say it hating, she does not want to give you the credit you deserve. Perhaps the real issue is that you have made her feel so great by being such a great friend that she thought that perhaps you were insecure and now that you are turning into the beautiful swan you always has been but just healthy she does not know how to congratulate you like a true friend should and would. Im sorry but I would just come out and comfort her and tell her that you have always support her in her life choices and it hurts to know that she has not even mentioned the fact of the positive changes you have made to be healthy. You dont have to tell her how you lost weight but the fact that you have made positive changes to become more healthy. If she does not apologize for her bad behavior I would limit my contact with her because you are a true friend and deserve the same in return. Good luck and keep us posted.

I can honestly say that your concerns, fears, vents, as well as goals and support can be met here with these great people. You can simply be yourself and no one will judge you. We all understand the struggles yo go through and many people in our lives may be supportive but they really do not understand how you feel unless they have walk a mile in your shoes, I look forward to reading your progress and becoming friends. Good luck to you all.

Anyone having surgery in May
I would contact the clinic and explain your situation, If they are not helpful to give you a date , I would put in for the time to ensure you get it. Good luck, also if your insurance is covering the surgery they can give you the authorization for surgery date. I relieved my date from my insurance company before I got my date for my surgeon. Good luck and congrats on your choice to be healthy , I look forward to reading your post .
