  2. This might be a man specific topic, I don't know, but when did you start to be able to lift heavy weights? I want to get into strength training but I'm cautious.
  3. Ah, thanks dude. Fiddleman, you're the best with answers, seriously. I'm so glad you're around here! By heavy lifting, do you mean like, 100+ pounds? Do you think 20 pound weights/bars would be alright?
  4. 2 more days preop and then I'm getting this done. Oh wow, I can't imagine.

    Feel like I'm slug

It doesn't. How far out are you? If you got sleeved recently, your stomach is inflamed. I believe it can stay that way for weeks.

Yeah, I'm just saying it's better to get a battle plan from a surgeon.

    Aetna says NO coverage

Tanyac, I have no idea how it works with taxes, but I know that if the surgery is more than 9.5% (I think) of your annual income, you can write it off in taxes.
  9. If you increase your water intake you should see weightloss. Water is essential for your body to rid itself of a lot of things, including fat.
  10. I'm not sure because I'm not sleeved yet, but I think the MAIN point of the shakes is so make sure we get as much protein as possible. We can't eat much food, so we have to supplement.
  11. The initial testings can be covered by insurance if you have it, or you might have to pay. I don't think they're usually covered by the procedure's costs.
  12. You may have been on a stall. By eating more food, you might have signaled your body to burn more.
  13. Thank you so much! I'm from the debated central jersey haha. You?
  14. Hey, thanks! I'm getting sleeved this Tuesday. I'm so excited but nervous as anything.
  15. 8/14 Let's go! :)

    Diabesity study in CO

I feel like it's more similar to the bypass but without the cutting. I imagine the dumping would be similar, unless for some reason the lower portion of the small intestine can't handle that high nutrient level and causes dumping (all the way form the colon!) I think it's interesting, and would even be implementable for sleeve if people are struggling. Fantastic!

    Skinnytaste.com

Has anyone used this website for their postop diet? I've used it before while dieting and it's amazing, but I'm wondering if other people use the recipes in their life after surgery. Do you think it'd be good? Here's a quick link: www.skinnytaste.com

  23. Before you get banded, track your calories for a week strictly, see what changes you can make, then implement them for the next week. See if that helps. You might be experiencing a stall. If so, look into tips for fixing a stall. I would talk to your surgeon first before undertaking another serious surgery, especially only over a year out from your last one.
  24. Your body might be retaining to as many fluids it can intake. I imagine complications would lead to inflammation. If you're sincerely concerns, contact your surgeon.
