- sugar free popsicles? some suggestions please...
You will do great!!!! I am 4 weeks post op & I was very nervous before my surgery & o have had several surgeries so it was not my first time going under. One tip i s get yourself some chewable gas-x or the kind that nelts under your tongue. It will help a lot after you come home with the gas pains from the surgery. Also make sure you do a lot of walking in as soon as they let you at the hospital. I will pray for you & your surgery best wishes!!!!- sugar free popsicles? some suggestions please...

Thank you Patti K. How are you doing? Yes I took advil it is the only thong that worked in the past when I used to get my period so I knew it would help me today. Definitely did not miss this pain whatsoever though. Feel like a young teenager when I used to have to stay home from school bcuz the pain was too much the first day lol.- July 2013 Sleevers
Thank you very much DagsboroDebbie- July 2013 Sleevers
Just weighed myswlf a few minutes ago & I am now officially out of the 300's!!!! I was 321 lbs the day I came hone from surgery & today 4 weeks out I am now..... wait for it.... wait for it.... ok here it is.... I a. Now 297 lbs!!!!!! YAY!!!!! I am now down 24 lbs since the day I had surgery!!!!! I am so happy & proud of myself for going through with my surgery, making it through my melt downs, & for losing those 24 lbs & no longer being in the 300's anymore!!!! I do however believe I may have lost a little more but unfortunately after a year & 1/2 of not having my monthly it came a half hour before I weighed myself. I had forgotten just how painful mine could be until today so I will be resting & hoping this advil kicks in soon bcuz right now I am doubled over in pain but I will not let that stop me from being so happy for my progress!!!!! Hope everyone has a great day!!!!- Moody, emotional, tired..8 days post op
I know exactly how you are feeling about the emotional rollercoaster. I have been up & down it a coupke of times myself since surgery. It is a hard ride but also so worth it & you are right it will & does get better! Just hang on tight & enjoy the journey to a happier, healthier you! Wish you the best!!!!- Why am i so hungry? Grrr
Did you take any water or some type of fluid with you whole you were out to help keep your belly from becoming completely empty?- Eating at 2 months post op
How many calories should we be taking in at 4 weeks out? I am still on the pureed/soft food stage. I am fearful I am taking in too many calories to early. Today my calories totaled at 493. I drink a premier protein shake in the morning & then have abt 3-4 oz of protein like pureed chicken, tuna or egg salad for lunch, then again at dinner I usually have whatever I had for lunch most days, then later I have another protein shake. In between all tht I have been getting approx 60 or so of fluids in. The protein shakes I drink have 30grams of protein each & total 160 calories each. Also eat cottage cheese & greek yogurt & scambled eggs. Not all at once of course just giving an idea of the types of food I am eating right now- a question to anyone help...
I wish you the best & I pray yoy are able to have your surgery. Being scared is fine. I think we all were scared going in to this. It is a major life changing experience but it will be the best one you have ever made. You are going to become a much happier healthier you!!!! The first few days are rough bcuz of the gas pains but that is a small price to pay for what the future is holding for you after the surgery. Buy some gas-x chewables for when you come home & walk walk walk. It helps!!!- a question to anyone help...
Yes I had surgery wow 4 weeks ago as of tomorrow. Hmmm didnt think about it until just now. I found it very hard to stay on the liquid diet for 24 hrs but my sister was up visitng from texas with my nieces & nephews & during the day we went to the Water park & kept very busy & the night time I just read a book, played games on the comouter & hung out in the park with the kids til it was very late came home took a shower & went to sleep. Kept water on me the entire time & just drank myself to full. You have to keep urself busy so ur not thinking abt it. I wanted my surgery so bad I was not going to let anythong stand in my way besides for me it was if I cant follow my preop instructions then I deff wont be able to follow my post op because that is forever. Everyone is different but maybe you got scared about having your surgery & could it be possible you ate hoping to not be able to have??? Not accusing you just asking- a question to anyone help...
Well how much is a plate of food? A whole plate, an over flowing plate? What time is ur surgery? U are not sypposed to have anything for 24 hrs before surgery it helps allow the stomach to become softer for the surgery. Yoy are going to have to tell them or call the hospital where you are having your surgery & ask someone there.- Advice
- Constipation
I take milk of magnesia for constipation. It works for me within hours. It says it can take anytime from a half hour up to 6hrs to work.- July 2013 Sleevers
- Just had surgery this morning.
- Hudson Valley
Also did you go to any of the support group meetings @ orange regional??? You would have met lots of people who had surgery by him there. They have the meetings on the first tuesday of every month in the conference room on the bottom floor @ 7:30 pm. Vicki handles the financial part with your ins company & she is fantastic as well. Laura I believe is the name of the nutritionist who runs the support groups & also is the one you would have your one on one meeting with. She is very friendly best of luck to you & your journey with whatever doctor you choose to use- Hudson Valley

- Can you share your good and easy to make meal favorites?
Well while I am on the pureed/ soft food stage I put some chicken breats in to my blender & added a little bit of salsa to help keep it moist & blended it all up well. Added some low far chedder cheese to it & melted it on top & then just a tiny bit of sour cream & it tasted just like a chicken quesadilla without the tortilla. 2 chicken breasts made this way last for several meals. I loved it & it was so yummy!!!!- July 2013 Sleevers
Thank you very much. Normally I would have went for a walk but it was pouring rain here today so was unable to do so.- Any pre-op / post-op sleevers from Hudson Valley NY area?
I am from middletown ny, I was sleeved on july 18, 2013. I have lost 21 lbs so far but have been in a stall the past week. Anyone else from the middletown or surrounding areas? Does anyone know of any other places to go to support groups besides orange regional? I need more then just once a month. I have had some bad emotional days & could just use more support groups to attend to help me remember why I chose to do this some days. Thank you! - Guilty!
