BcBs florida anyone get approved?
I'm getting very nervous as the time to submit draws closer. Wednesday I have my last visit which includes the liver class. My bmi is 36 with Co morbid of high blood pressure diagnosised in June this year, gerd, and rem sleep apnea. Did anyone not have to submit pass weight history for BCBS? I'm on the state employees plan and they offer an awesome contract. What was your bmi& comorbids?

I have sleep apnea (rem) but not sure if it falls under my insurance policy definition. They probably are looking for obstructive sleep apnea that requires a cpap.

Wow that was fast congratulations! What is your bmi and do you have co-morbids? Best of luck.- 41BMI now, but if I lose weight, will insurance still approve me in six months?
My office submits your first weight only.- Did insurance still approve you when?
Even if you had controllable high blood pressure. Lower with medication? For a co-morbid and bmi of 36?- REM sleep apnea? Anyone have this too?
I live in Florida but choose an office in Dothan Alabama for my surgery. I'm still in the process of my prerequisites of wls. I have high blood pressure and gerd. My BCBS FL will use gerd as a co-morbid. I've called the insurance representative. Good luck!- REM sleep apnea? Anyone have this too?
Keep us posted on your study.- Need help writing appeal letter

Thanks!!- What were your unsuccessful weight loss attempts insurance needed?
How long of a history and what weight loss attempts did you submit for insurance approval? Did they ask for proof? I have BCBS FL, not required to do a pre-op diet. Only 3 months waiting period, and that's to complete the surgeons program. Thanks for the info.- Insurance UHC
Sorry wls exclusions.- Insurance UHC
Call the number on your insurance card and ask them what are your Wilson exclusions. Your employer may have opted out of wls benefits on the contract. Good Luck!- My psychologist exam no clear answer.
Im doing the happy dance! My ARNP is supporting me 100% and will write a medical necessary letter. My sleep AP test showed rem sleep AP. He didn't issue me a cpap machine. He did imply on his letter I lose weight and sleep on my side. Wondering if this is going to affect my co-morbid with Bmi of 36.- REM sleep apnea? Anyone have this too?
My test showed I have rem sleep AP. I stopped breathing 3 times an hour. No cpap machine needed Dr. said. Suggested in his report losing weight and sleeping on side should help. Do you think I could get away with this diagnosis as a co-morbid? Report also shows I have 11 episodes of bradycardia. Heart beat drops below 60 during sleeping times.- Need help writing appeal letter
Do you mind me asking why you got denied?- How do I pass physical therapy evaluation?
Yes Lisa it's something I've got to complete on my check list for sleeve surgery. A physical therapy evaluation. - BCBS FL group state insurance
