Any do's or don'ts to acknowledge during your physical therapy evaluation. I've hit one bump in the road due to my psychological evaluation. She suggested I have counseling due to anxiety. So I do not have a clearance for surgery at this time. Don't need anymore set backs! Any advice is appreciated.

I have decided to use another office for my counseling services. I'll meet with him in 2 weeks.

Talked to wls coordinator and I have to be put on medication for anxiety by primary physician. Do counseling services before a clearance will be issued. What a set back. Thinking more about Mexico!

So if I get on drugs for anxiety, that is the pre surgery intervention she states when she suggested pharmacological management?

Angry, Did your letter have the words cleared for surgery? Mine never once states those words. Just what she suggested I do.

I had my sleep study last night and their pretty sure I don't qualify for apnea. Only thing left in my corner is the fact my bmi is 36. Newly diagnosis of hb pressure in June, pcos, gerd, and fibromyalga. Has anyone had success with insurance paying for surgery? If you were in my situation, how long did it take? I have BCBS Florida employees group. Thanks .. signed frustrated!

You're very lucky! My doctor wants to do the very opposite and perform lap band surgery. I'm currently looking for another surgeon, but not having any luck. See I live in a smaller community and already travel far. I may have to get banded, if it's the only way to get me healthier. Best of luck!

Well I contacted the other doctors office and they do not offer the sleeve for weight loss.

Can a doctors office with hold your medical records? In the morning, I'm going to call another WL center that's 1 1/2 hours away, to consult with their weight loss coordinator. Yes maybe that's true. He wants me to get a GDE test. Camera down to stomach. Which the office said he was going to perform. I take medication for Gerd. He said a sleeve is not good for patients with gerd, because of the acid levels in a smaller stomach. I'm wondering if he documents my test as a failure then I would have to get the band. Only 2 surgeons in that office. I would have to move to another city and re-do everything I've already completed. Almost finished for submitting to insurance.

I had a consult with a surgeon and he's trying to talk me into the band. Given my bmi is only 36, He thinks I will loose a great amount of weight and become malnourished. I believe there are other reason for his push on the band. Like follow ups and the fills, means more $$. I over heard him through the wall, to the room next to mine, trying to push the band on another patient. Should I give the band a try first then have revision later if it fails?? So stressed over this!

Hey y'all. I contacted another surgeons office today in Tallahassee. You won't believe what the insurance coordinator told me. She claims their office has never had a successful insurance claim paid with the patient having a bmi of 35 with co-morbs. Only claims paid are bmi of 40+. I have state BCBS. She blowing smoke up my a** or what??
