  1. Take away all the legal ramifications - there is one overarching personal issue to determine. Do you want your surgery to almost define you in the eyes of others? Irrespective of how far and wide your images are distributed, if people recognise you from them, that will be what they associate you with - your surgery. All the questions, enquiries, reactions (good and bad), recommendation requests, etc. If you're happy to be an advocate and a walking advertisement for the procedure and the surgical system who supported you through this - and wouldn't mind the attention and better still, you get paid - go ahead. However, the reality of it is (and this would get to me), would be the fear that I would be defined by it for an unknown length of time. I am Revs. I am more than my surgery. I would not want my other attributes eclipsed by a personal and private decision I took to improve my health. Particularly not for the financial gain, irrespective of how grateful I am for their services, of the medical establishment I paid a considerable amount of money to perform said service. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
  2. Keep your head in the game. Appease her every whim and whilst doing so, document EVERYTHING she has or hasn't done, has or hasn't said and the times and dates she did or didn't do them. The full nine yards. As soon as you get what you need, you write a deposition to the complaints department. In fact, I would go so far as to assert that if there are more people less 'together' than you, charged to be under her care, that you personally fear for their safety as she's clearly not fit for purpose (I would mention that she appears high) and grossly unprofessional. You had me at 'shoulda paid your phone bill'. I'dve hit the freakin' roof at that. But as has been stated. Hold your counsel until such time as you can let rip. My sympathies are with you.
  3. What a wonderful feeling that must have been. I have never in my life worn shorts - or a tank top. I wonder if I'll ever garner the courage for that.... Probably not (being a linen trouser, hide me away in billowy fabric kinda girl), but I'd certainly settle for 'normal'. Way to go
  4. Good advice. The sticking point is, sadly, that you just can't legislate for people who want to have an argument! Mohammad to the mountain/Horses to Water and all that good stuff....
  5. 'I always end up in the drive-through' Simples. JUST DONT DRIVE THERE!!!!
  6. Love her. Its just her fear talking.
  7. Well, it might certainly kill the efficacy of the tablets.. Either that, or it'll kill my stomach and leave me talking down the big white telephone to God! Shame, as a hot whiskey would go down a treat right now!
  8. Cant, chick. I'm on whacking amounts of antibiotics. Boo!
  9. I can get dizzy if I haven't drunk enough Water... I have to be mindful of that...
  10. What. In. The. World. No, really. As I'm sick and feeling rather putrid, I shall say but this. Please, everyone, read the definition of the word 'Fear' in a dictionary. Understand what it is. Recognise how it can present itself. Have compassion - on both sides of the fence. I shall now return to my duvet, electric blanket and warmed cup of milk. And before anyone asks; no, there's no bleedin' Protein powder in it
  11. And this is EXACTLY why I told my mother the sum total of bugger all about my surgery. Mothers are old. They're bored. They have nothing left of interest to discuss within their own lives... So they start vicariously using their kids lives as a topic of interest. My mother did this to me once before in a very different context. I warned her most sternly - 'do it again and I will tell you nothing personal about my life from this point onwards'. Guess what - she did it again. Subsequently, I tell her very very little. Its quite sad, because it has ruined our relationship. But it was her choice. I gave her options. I gave her the consequences of her actions. She made her choice. She now has to live with it.
  12. Just thought I'd send out a bit of Irish cheer to one and all on this special day! May your Guinness be cold, your bacon boiled and your white pudding hot! x
  13. It has been suggested that a complete reduction in eating those horrible processed carbohydrates has an impact on the amount of headaches we get.... I have to say I concur.. (being a migraine sufferer) I have had very few since being sleeved. Long may it continue - for all of us!
  14. Have you tried eating? I am 16 months out and have lost about 90 lbs. Whenever I thought I was losing hair I would eat. Not enough to put on weight but enough to stabilise for a week or two. It worked great. I never lost a significant amount of hair that I noticed. My apologies if I'm being, well, a bit stupid here.. But is that a genuine suggestion?
  15. I have a simple response to all of it... Your friend. This thread. It is beautifully applicable to every one at every time and in every situation. Wanna know what is it? It is this. 'Yo! DUDE!!!!!!' That is all
  16. lol well, aren't we all an attractive bunch?!
  17. I am truly happy for you, honey. I await the same sense of relief xx
  18. Hey Loobylou. I'm actually 2/4 Irish, 1/4 Scottish and the remaining 1/4 - I'm a English mutt. But yes, I have the pale (prone to stretch marks) skin and fine, can't do anything with it hair! I may well give consideration to a wig if the sides of my head disappear any more quickly than they already are. I fancy a bright red bob... Hmm.. that's an idea actually! Roo - you're right, your wig is absolutely fantastic! I wouldn't know it was a wig at all! Is it real hair? LOL It is really interesting you said that, PdxMan. Although being dark and having a bit of a tache - its my legs which are starting to look like they belong to a baby gorilla! Weird. I didn't think it could have been the Biotin that caused me to go this way. Did the excess hair stop for you once Biotin had left your system? I'm thinking it might be worth continuing on with the Biotin and suffering the ape-legs so that it promotes the growth on my head... I think blondes do have more fun. Just need to look at my sister to confirm that. She's flaxen blonde and I am dark! Genetics are weird! Be afraid - be very afraid! lol Not really.. Everyone suffers it in different ways and at different levels. You may be one of the lucky few. I hope you are
  19. I'll take 'cotton-candy'!! No, I will, seriously! That's what GDH were created for!!!!!
  20. I've lost so much, pony tails are just not viable. I look bald to the temples... It sucks... and no lotions or potions are helping. Before anyone else messages me with the 'are you taking' question? Yes, I'm taking the works. It HASN'T worked. On that basis, no more suggestions please. I know you mean well - but I'm an intelligent (sometimes) girl and I have done significant research of which, NOTHING has worked. It is, what it is. My hair is still falling. It is genetics and my physical reaction to the surgery. There ain't nothing that can be done about it. Any questions in this regard are getting on my mammories. I really don't need any 'helpful' reminders that the hair, 'potentially', could not have fallen so much if I'd been taking x, y, z...shoving my head up a camels backside, or given **** to a horse! Know what I'm saying? I have tried it all. I'm bright enough to know that each individual has a different fall rate. No one knows until they spin the barrel for themselves. Come talk to me when you're bald and you've been doing xyz in endless quantities and its still not worked. 50, 60, 70, 150 grm of Protein? It's all balderdash! You fall at the rate that the surgery impacts upon you. Everything you ingest/apply just helps with the re-growth. I'm losing hair like nothing anyone has seen and frankly; I'm tired of it. I'm trying my best to minimise it. Its not working. I'm doing my best to disguise it in the meantime. Best I can do. Now.. Please, a little less of the shoulda, woulda, coulda? I have, I did, and it DIDN'T work! I'm still going bald with another (at least) 3 months to go. 'Nuff said? <sanitised appropriately>
  21. I bought some of those fibers which disguise baldness/thinning and electro magnetically adhere to your hair this morning. I have visions of me moving my head and my disappearing into a cloud of fibers. What a great look that will be!
  22. Be prepared to spend most of the moments, until you get used to it saying in your head and out loud... "Oooh, look at my hip bones sticking out'. 'Oooh! Look how bendy I am now!' 'Hmm...Do you think that chandelier will support my weight now? I think I'm going to swing off of it'.
  23. Burning pain, mixed with hunger - could be excess acid. Take a PPI. As for eating - I can't see why, after you've replaced some of your fluids and you've relaxed a bit, you can't eat something very smooth like soup? As long as you stay away from the really lumpy stuff and have it little and often, you should be fine. Best to avoid regular up=chucking.
