  1. Congrats to you!! I was lucky not to have much gas pain, just in my left shoulder. The nurses at sisters are so nice. I had young male nurses at times lol. It'll continue to get better every day. By the end of the week it felt like I never had any surgery. The gurgles won't stop they haven't for me. Its a sign that your tummy is full. I also get what I call inny burps lol. I'm glad you're doing ok :)

  2. I understand the point of the eval but also agree that the questionare was obnoxious!! I didn't see Ann Marie for my psych eval but a doctor close to me. You still have to meet 1:1 with her and do a follow up but never did she try to blame depression or an eating disorder. She actually pointed out where it came from that I never thought of before. She's very nice. Just sometimes there's that weird silence and you wonder if you are supposed to say something more or if you haven't said enough. I really do like her though. And even though the psych eval sucks' date=' it's a step closer to your new future.[/quote']

You were required to still meet with ann marie even though you saw someone else? I didn't need to. BTW you're having a nice storm in Olean! I'm here visiting my in-laws lol.

  3. Hi! I am just starting the process at Synergy and need any suggestions for psych eval outside of their office who take independent health ' date=' 150 was too much to spend with Anne Marie. Love this board , it's so helpful and encouraging![/quote']

Hi! I go to synergy and was sleeved on 8/5 and doing great! They have a list of psychs that you can look into. I went to Degraff in tonawanda. But I'm not sure if they take IHA.

  4. Darners73' date='

Basically I just use a little bit of low cal orange juice about 1/4 cup or unsweetened almond milk, a container of Greek yogurt (6oz.) strawberries, blueberries, and spinach. If you can tolerate Protein Powder add that too. I put it in a magic bullet or blender and after everything is blended, I had ice to make it slushy. I love it, kinda addicted to them too! Let me know how it goes.

I tried it and it was very good thank you! :-)

  6. I bought the single cups 6 oz. at Tops for 1.19 each. They had vanilla and strawberry. Gonna have to try the blueberry. I want to use this to make my smoothies. Anything to help get the Protein in especially when I don't do protein powders. If you find other flavors let me know. Also toning to try to flavor the chobani with the Jello stuff too! Thanks for the idea!

How do you make a smoothie with them? I'm so bad at making them lol

  7. Hey if you guys are into Greek yogurt' date=' I found Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt. It has 80 calories, 8g of carbs and 12g of protein! It's not bad. I love mu mullers, but that has lie 23g of carbs for 9 g of Protein. Just thought I'd share.

Mmmmm....thanks for the tip I bought some strawberry alittle while ago and it is very yummy. I just wish I could find more flavors and single cups. Wegmans only sells the 4 pack in strawberry, blueberry and vanilla. I wonder if Tops has more variety.

  8. Returned to work this week and it has been crazy Water has been a struggle. I have been exercising at least and at work taking the stairs not the elevator in my building. I work downtown so I do walk everywhere. By 9 pm I drop. Missing my time off lol.

I'm trying to slow down the days before I have to return lol. I went to my support group tonight and enjoyed it.

  9. I just got a call today they're switching me from sept 16 to sept 11. Anyone have pre op class Monday morning?

That's great news! At the pre-op class they'll talk about what to expect with surgery and go over the pre-op diet. They'll also give you resistance bands and show you how you'll be using them. You'll get more info to add to that black folder.

  10. Jill/Dawn great to hear you guys are doing great. Some good weight loss there! Awesome. Jill you are able to eat regular solid foods so soon? Or is that a normal time frame?

Hey in case anyone is interested' date=' Wegmans has "New Whey" liquid Protein vials on sale for 1.99 this week (that's a great price). Granted there is some collagen mixed in there, but even so it says its "a complete source of Protein containing all essential amino acids" - how true this is, well it's hard to tell and may be not good for 100% protein supplementation post-op, but in a pinch these are very portable and potent. I got a bunch just to have around and supplement my diet now pre-op. The watermelon flavor is quite palatable. Just thought I'd share this :)

Hey do any of you guys want to move over to the Buffalo group and continue topics there? Instead of making this thread so long?

Anyone, feel free to join! http://www.verticals...stern-new-york/

Thanks I actually just lost 5 more lbs.! I've also been trying more solid food as per Dr. Caruana's instructions. I've started eating tuna with a little mayo, chicken out of the can, the nectar drinks (found a great website for yummy recipes). Were actually allowed to try things as we progress based on our comfort level. They don't have any strict guidelines as to what to eat week to week. I will try going to that new Buffalo website. Thats a good idea. :)

  11. I was sleeved on 8/5 and have since lost 24 lbs. (Including pre-op diet). My bp has decreased too and I feel better. I'm noticing it in my face and the way my clothes fit and my hubby says my butt looks better lol. I'm trying to walk everday for 20 minutes or at least 10. Good luck to everyone!

  12. It took me 15 days' date=' Colace, senna tablets and Miralax..... but I finally "did it". I guess I missed the "diarrhea" phase the Dr. warned us about. No straining either which is what I was worried about after more then 2 weeks. This may be TMI, but my 7 pound puppy poops more then I do.[/quote']

I was just like that and thought I had missed the diarrhea too until I had 1/2 a pudding cup yesterday and BAM! But it was just one time so I can handle that lol. I think it was my body turning its gears again. I was sleeved on 8/5.
