  1. Soo Just wondering how everyone is doing?? Started out at 350 surgery weight was 333 current weight is around 287 (haven't been on a scale in a week) but total weight lost is over 60... not including my pre op diet though I think I'm a slow loser... but how are yall doing with everything? My stomach acid still gives me problems but it seems to be getting a little better than it was last month for sure.

  2. I had surgery with Dr Garcia Aug 27th... At the hospital there was definitely a lot of sleeping, and I only stayed one night at the hotel but just FYI text messages with at&t are .50 a text (adds up quickly) so for sure use the wifi at the hotel. And the popsicles they brought me were GROSS! I've read since then that the green popsicles are better... the market or whatever they call it was pretty neato... you have to take those little red taxis for quite a ways to get there but if you're feeling up to it then I suggest going, just to get moving and see some stuff.

  3. I'm new to this whole thing also (six weeks out) but I'm the same as you... I can eat steak without dying when I've heard other people say it's too heavy and all that mess. But my doctor told me it would be VERY hard to stretch out your stomach because the part they left in when they did your sleeve is very hard to stretch.. the other part they took out was the part that made you hungry (i forget the name of that stuff it starts with a g) and was also the part that stretches. I think you're doing the right thing by staying comfortable. and I don't think that if you do stuff yourself once or twice its going to stretch out the sleeve. But I'm new so I don't know everything or want to pretend like I do.

  4. Ugh... This happened me to last night I know it's an old thread but I'm glad I found it... freaking GROSS!! and kinda scary when you're just sleeping and next thing you know you're choking... and the taste is just nasty. I've been taking Omeprazole that I bought over the counter once in the morning but im assuming I need to take one at night also.. I NEVER want that to happen again!

  5. Hi, I definitely would like to keep in touch. No one knows about my WLS decision but my hubby. I live in Pearland and I am having the surgery with Dr.Garcia on Sept. 10th in Tijuana. Any advice you can give me for Tijuana???

Just got sleeved with Dr Garcia last Thursday! Bring small bills for tips, bring an ipad or something for the hospital stay incase you get bored... the cable is mostly Spanish.. don't be nervous! I was terrified and they did a great job! the Staff that will be taking care of you is mostly young but they know what theyre doing. A couple female doctors that youll speak with before surgery have also had gastric bypass and sleeve so ask them questions if you have any.. they're very nice. after yours surgery youre gonna wake up with sticky crap all over you! Make them help you get it off! lol REST and WALK!!! GOOD LUCK!

  8. So I'm trying to get my mind set right for actually confirming a date to travel to Tijuana Mexico and get my Sleeve... A couple of things just keep running through my head though. I haven't been to the doctor since March when I had a miscarriage and before that it's been years. I did tell my Primary that I was planning on going to Mexico to get it done but I don't really think she believed me because she didn't really say anything about it. I'm planning on using Dr Garcia through Ready 4 a Change, my husbands cousin used him and so did several other people from their church with no complications. Ive spoke with Alma (dr garcias coordinator) and she seems very nice but it just seems like there should be more that I should be doing. I've sent my paperwork and been approved with them, in a couple weeks I'll have the total amount of money for the surgery and travel, it just seems like somethings missing.. I've been reading these blogs off and on now for months but this is my first post. After I'm sleeved do I need to find a doctor to check on how I'm doing or can I actually just go to Mexico and get this done then poof I'll start losing weight? ?!@? Help! LOL I'm starting to freak out!
