  1. wow I'm so sorry your trip was so miserable! Yes, the hospital rooms were very dated but other than that I had no problems. My step mother was my travel buddy and she speaks Spanish so it was easier to communicate to nurses and staff. While I was sleeping or walking she was out roaming Tijuana and to be honest it flew by for me pretty quick... we stayed in san diego the night before surgery and were only at the Marriott one night... when we arrived there we did have to wait while others took smoking rooms we waited an hour (which wasn't fun) but then we got our room. Once again I went to sleep she went exploring. We were told to only take the red taxis because they went to "centro" (the market). After my step mother got back she dragged me out to go with her to see Tijuana... it's definitely different than an average city in the US but it's just like Progresso, Cancun, or Cozumel if you get out of the tourist areas... I haven't had any problems and actually went back to work Tuesday (surgery was Thursday) I hope all your problems are behind you! I'm sure once you're home you'll feel 100 times better!!
  2. i'll be there the 29th!! but we should be flying back on the 31st if all goes right, good luck to you!!
