  1. I'm between 1000-1400 a day, 3 months out
  2. I went on a cruise and had cake and burgers and stuff 5 weeks in. Just not a lot of it so it was a quarter burger but yea. You're fine.
  3. Too busy losing weight to feel bad about losing weight. You lost it, you look good, and you feed better. The end greatly outweighs any means.

    Feeling not so hot

I was light headed the first week and half but you really have to just relax. No matter what people on the forums say, in reality you are starving your body in first few weeks. You have so many extra pounds and all you and giving your cells to survive on is liquids. Obviously you will be tired - but it will pass. Once I reached soft/ normal foods....I gained most of my energy back. Just rest and relax for now.

    Age regression

It's not that I'm mean, but my patience has thinned. I would go about probably finding a hobby so you have an alone time to just calm yourself doing something you enjoy before going back to crazy normal life. Take baths with music and a mask with cool cucumbers on your eyes. Go jogging/ canoeing/ exercising to release endorphins. Read books that engross you in the park or in you bed as you drink a bit of wine. Try not to watch TV/ go on computer as much because that just wastes time and doesn't relax you introspectively. Yoga classes really does relax you, meditation classes are great too. Take up drawing, painting, or writing a book and let your emotions out there. If you live in a crazy world and you just snap a lot, you'll just fret and wonder why, is it my past? Is it my significant other? What is wrong? This causes less patience and more emotional ups/downs. Just take time away from crazy for a bit.
  6. I'm 3 months out this coming week and never had any issues besides burping the first 2-3 weeks. I think most people are fine, it's just that the stories of the 1% that have major issues stick with us.

    Eating at 4 months

I can eat most anything 1 month in. I went on a cruise 1 month in and never had any issues with food (besides the obvious not eating a lot). Now I eat healthy most of the time, I havent had carbs in forever though (including breads, potatoes, rice, and pasta). I just eat meat and veg/fruits and lots of dairy.
  8. I heard that how you fall asleep is how you wake up. If you were a nervous wreak going under, you are going to wake up emotional and under stress. The chemicals activated by stress are still in your body when under surgery, and the neurotransmitters fired in your brain cells are still there so you wake up feeling like crap. On the other hand, when you go under feeling positive and refreshed (hard, I know), but the positive NT, or even lack of stress hormones will make you wake feeling better. Of course no matter what, you will wake with pain or nausea but generally, not having cortisol (from stress) and positive brain chemicals (neurotransmitters such as GABA, serotonin, epinephrine) will give you a better experience AS WELL AS recovery. Moral of story: Be calm going under, think happy thoughts, and think how good you will feel 3 months from now and you will wake feeling better and have an easier recovery.
  9. I had hunger the week after I had my surgery. Just eat when you're hungry -> a yogurt or a bit of cheese...and bam. You're full

    Snancks

BEEF JERKY -> An 80g bag gives 50g protein with no carbs (dont get the candied or added sugar jerky). Only downside is high sodium content, but as a snack, if you eat half a bag, you'll be okay.

    4 months post op

2.5 months out and I eat a lot. Around 1000-1200 calories which scares me because the norm is supposed to be 600-800 cals. I went from 244 to 201 in about 10 weeks though.

    7week stall?!

    look up 3 month stqll.
  14. July 24th: 40 pounds down: 244->204
  15. You really can't slide back. You will endanger yourself and make the operation harder with a fatty enlarged liver on the way. Of all the time in your life to overeat, now is not the time.
  16. Yes. I did settle. Who would be romantically interested in someone as big as myself? It's sad but my self-esteem is much too low to be in a relationship.
  17. I decided to go to Mexico on my own 9 days before my surgery date and everything was done superfast, no one I knew really supported me either.People I met online and called often supported me and told me it was the best decision of my life and it'll go well...etc.
  18. 2.5 weeks in and I stalled. Now, 5.5 weeks later, I am sill stalled with a slow 2-4 pound loss in 3 weeks.
  19. The issue is to eat till you dont feel hunger not till you are full. I never ate to my max because I never felt the urge to - why bother making your stomach full and stretching it all over again?
  20. Ive been stuck at the same weight 3 weeks in for about a week now. This is frustrating.
  21. I use 1% chocolate milk with protein powder (30g). Some people have issues with sugar though.

    Is this normal?

I lost less than a pound the past week. I am 3 weeks in... I hear it can last up to 6 weeks.
  23. I might be the wierd one out because I went through it alone and didnt freak out/cry. I went under a bit confused but smiling... I think if you do this, there is no time for regrets or what ifs.
  24. The longest I believe was a 3-5 year prospective (aka follow patients over time) study that found that half of the patients were deficient in at least 1 micro nutrient (such as vitamins) and around 10% had comorbidities. However it was found that most of the deficiencies arise in the first few months and after that, its not likely to show up. Another point was that be wary that your deficiencies before your surgery might worsen after. Read some peer reviewed articles and they do show lots of deficiencies as the worst side-effect of the surgery. As for longer term than 5 years, there has not been any. [i feel necessary to add that there are many benefits found in shorter studies showing diabetes to become easier to control, lower cholesterol, and blood pressure (which reduces the chance of heart attack and stroke)].

    Regrets

I regretted it the 2nd day out of surgery but the thing is: 1. Diabetes, heart attack, stroke..etc was avoided (at least drastically reduced chances) with the sleeve. 2. You had problems with food before, to lead to you to where you are. You still can eat almost anything, just not the huuuugggeee portions you had before which lead you to become unhealthy. 3. Its done. It's over. You can give up and cry over split milk or use the sleeve to be better physically. **** 4. Consider seeing a therapist - they are stereotyped negatively, but they do help. My point is move on, you have no other choice. What's done is done and living in past regrets will make life harder. Instead, look to the future thin you.
