I used Dr Kelly and did not incur any extra costs. His wife CeCe too king me out to lunch and went to the plaza for shopping.Fawn1120,
When was your surgery done? I think this just started happening this year. I never heard of it either until the last 6-8months...makes me sad and nervous. I would of had the entire amount saved for everything but heard that and it set me back. It sucks cause' now I have to wait, budget and up before I can get a date set.

Again ' date=' the papers in Spanish are for the hospital use. I agree that they should be written in Spanish ,English probably French , mandarin like any other touristic brochure . I think that if you request that , during your preliminary arrangements ,they will be happy to do it for you.[/quote']Just heard from Dr. R.Kelly's coordinator Lora that Nova Hospital is now providing all paperwork in English. Yay!!!

You could try some of the more tart Syntrax nectar flavors like roadside lemonade' date=' fuzzy navel, pink grapefruit, or lemon tea. You can get sample packs from lots of places online. You mix them with Water instead of milk so that also makes them even less sweet than flavors like chocolate or vanilla. The unjury chicken Soup Protein broth is good and of course not sweet! I also did things like stirring unflavored Protein powder into beef broth (with some steak seasoning), cottage cheese, and yogurt. Good luck![/quote']
Can anyone please post several of the online web links that give samples out. I would like to get a bunch to try. Thank you :-)

Oh! I apologize I forgot to update. The doctor said the bleeding from the scars was normal and nothing to worry about' date=' that it happens sometimes.
Regarding the blood coughing, she said its probably unrelated to the surgery and told me to set an appointment with an ENT doctor (eat-nose-throat). So far I'm waiting for the appointment.
The coughing did not return so far so I'm not way too worried, I seem to be doin alright [/quote']
Thanks, that is great news. Glad to know your alright. Still try to Update us all after the ear, nose, and throat doctor it would be interesting to hear what he/she has to say

Yeh I agree it might be unrelated but I'm not entirely sure.
As for the amounts of blood and color - It seems to be 'normal' red, perhaps dry?
Not excessive amounts but its definitely seen. A few strings of blood each time within a mucus like substance, so its not 'pure' blood. So 'clear' sputum with red in it.
And I don't seem to have a temprature.
The operation was in a hospital about.. 1.5 hours away by car. (or did you want a specific location?)
Another detail I forgot to mention, which I kinda suspect now that I think of it, is that yesterday due to some god awful Constipation (which I've never had before but was told it happens after this operation) that lasted over 4 hours, my stomach was cramping like you wouldn't believe. It was almost as painful as the pain right after operation. I suspect the strong painful cramps may have something to do with it...
Thank you all for your replies and concern, now after about 2 hours since the incident I seem to be feeling alright so I've calmed down a bit.
I'm seeing a doctor tomorrow and I think I should get some sleep, I'm not as worried anymore because most of the symptoms are gone (still bleeding just a lil). Not in any pain or anything. If anything happens during the night I'll head to the ER but so far I seem to be alright.
Sleevefox,
Well, what happened? was it serious? I am reading all this and wondering what was the diagnosis from the doctor you seen the next day?

When I booked directly with Dr Kelly I was told that we would be at Nova. Also' date=' when we were there all the consents were in Spanish.[/quote']Yeah, I heard paperwork is all in spanish when arriving. Ugh!
Someone in this world needs to invent a scanning type app on a phone or ipad that translates documents into english.

Dr. Aceves
I wanted to use Dr. Aceves too but could not afford him. It took me way to long just to save for Dr.Kelly's $5400 + $500 bmi + $300 flight. I really wish I could afford Dr.A. All these overage fees freak me out. Seriously, how much should a person have on hand incase they do overcharge ya? Its gonna be a hardship just doing $150-$200 on overages...but I need this surgery.
-
I had surgery with Dr Kelly in April 2013' date=' my best friend had surgery in May and I have kept in touch with many patients of his I've met along the way. No one has ever mentioned being charged additional fees. I wasn't even charged the extra 500 for my BMI.All of Florence's paperwork is in Spanish, Nova's is in English.[/quote']
florence is a hospital...right? & Nova is another hospital...right?
So, how do you get Nova with Dr.Kelly as the surgeon? Do you have a choice?
-
What?? The forms you sign are in Spanish for those doctors?? That wouldn't be legal in the U.S. However' date=' who knows what's legal in Mexico. I can tell you that every form I signed was in English, and there were no extra charges afterward. In fact, they told me beforehand if the Dr. sees a hiatal hernia while he's in there, he'll fix it for free.[/quote']
Who did you use for your surgeon in mexico?

I thought that might be the ticket (Cooking healthier for us all).
Back to the list...Was everything else on the list you didn't mention ok?

Laura-ven,
Sorry about the double message. Oops...lol!
Thanks Danilax...
good information. I am slowly weening off soda but I just adore the taste and I'm VERY freaked out about Aspertame side effects.

Thank You
lol! It was easier & faster because I just did this months list. I know it's gonna be hard but I am willing. I seriously hate Best Foods/Hellmann's Olive Oil dressings. So, is there a different kind thats got a better taste then the BF/H...it's just sooo ick!
There are 5 of us in the house. One of my conumdrums is...How am I suppose to cook for all them (4) and myself if my intake and my food is so limited?

Brighteyes,
Thats awesome that they do that for their patients. Makes it so much easier. Can you by any chance please scan and post that list on here by any chance. It could help a lot of us who won't get something like that.
-
Marfar7, of course I love all these you listed... Cream Soups, broth, SF pudding, Jello/Popsicles &
Yogurt. Do I get sugar free or just regular?

dma2013,
I'm still in the deciding on surgeon & preparing for before & after. Can you please provide your list of groceries you buy now. It would probably help a lot of us out who are PreOp who struggle in knowing what will we will buy once we do our surgery and help those who already PostOp.
