  1. Hi, I drink beer with Ice at least once or twice a week and I have not had any problems. My workouts consist of walking and I still appear to loose 2 to 3 pounds a week. I'm waiting until November to hit the big gym. I think with your activity and low consumption you should be ok . Calories are calories it doesn't really matter where they come from so as long as your meeting your daily goal. We all know the health concerns with alcohol consumption but it :) doesn't sound like your on the wrong path. (:

  2. I'm having surgery on Nov 13th. I'm 6' 290 lbs and burning up all the time! I sweat like crazy and it drives me nuts. Have any of you experienced relief from this when losing weight?

I have been the same pre op but now since loosing 70lbs life is much cooler. I used to hate Summer or just heat period I would be standing in my own pile of sweat and nothing was ever cold enough. Now I often freeze to death because I have lost my Water cooler stomach..... I was 316 Im down to 245 lbs in just 2 months. I hope you have the same results.

  3. Why do you let what someone else may think about your progress destroy your shine. I just tell everyone so if I'm successful at keeping the weight off or I fail, people will know. I dropped 70 pounds in 2 months,so I couldn't hide that you could see the difference. If you don't want to tell anyone at work then don't you don't owe them any explanation as to why you are loosing weight. I often find that there is a lot of people who have a lot of questions about the surgery so they do ask. Some people ask questions just to be nosy or rude don't worry about them if you are not having a problem with your coworkers you shouldn't have one after your surgery .

  4. I agree some people have no idea what we are going through nor do they care. I tell people how I had to do the pre op diet and you would think I was talking about how I starved on a desert island because no one except those that have been sleeved or banded knew what the heck the pre op diet was all about. I see a lot of people that want to loose a little weight and they say go ask Fred about a suicide or starvation diet. Some people ask me everyday they see me are you ok as if I look like I'm dying . Some ask how much are you eating you have lost a huge amount of weight, when was your surgery, are you healthy ? I work in a field where I'm constantly either getting disrespected or praised,it just depends on who is at work.

  5. Follow your pre op diet to the best that you can. I lost 32 lbs in 2 weeks before my surgery so you can do it. Once you make it past that first few days you will be fine. Just take this 1 day at a time. You will not be sorry. It's hard but think about what your aiming for. 2 weeks of small eating compared to a lifetime of bad eating is a small price to pay. I wasn't perfect in my pre op but I did very well.

  6. Are you taking an acid reducer? If not, that is why you are always hungry. The acid in your stomach makes you feel like you are hungry but that is not what it is. Talk to your doctor but a lot of us take an acid reducer to help this. One day I was constantly hungry to the point of driving me crazy and I ate to help but it never helped. Then I realized I hadn't taken my medicine, I took it and within 15 minutes the hunger feeling was gone and I felt total relief.

Thanks for this because I have stopped taking mine but looks like I need to get my meds refilled. I take Gas X often and felt that I was just taking to many acid revilers so I stopped taking the RX.

  7. Today has been a messed up day for me, everything I drink feels like it’s just sticking to my insides because when I weigh myself I’m up 3 pounds of Water weight in less than 4 days. I have had a headache all day, and it seems for some reason I cannot quench my thirst nor my hunger. I have been drinking all day it seems, and eating and every couple of hours my stomach is growling so I’m not sure if its thirst, if its hunger, if its acid reflux. I just don’t know what my body wants today. I just feel like road kill. Hopefully tomorrow will be better and I will get some relief. I just don’t understand why and the heck I feel this way today. I usually found some common ground I’m hungry or thirsty, not both.

  8. I eat fast as well. I eat then I drink afterwards. If I try to eat and drink I get the over full and gastric reflux right away. It's hard to make a few bites last for a 30 minute meal. I chew a lot of time then swallow but it still doesn't take me more than 5 minutes to eat. In about two hours I 'm hungry again. I don't think I will learn either. So far I'm, still losing weight, and I hope to keep it off.

  9. If I eat a slice of Dominoes hand tossed pizza I don't even get half of a whole slice down in one setting. I like to eat pizza with my wife on the weekends. So far it has not stopped me from loosing any weight. I usually get a couple of toppings like a meat and a veggie. I don't eat the crust. Moderation all in moderation.

I don't believe in holding my appetite hostage, but I do know that I can not eat like that all the time.

  10. I tell everyone I had surgery and don't care what they think about me. I'm sure they dislike a lot about me but I did have the surgery and often try to encourage others, that have been or are going through what we all went through. True its no one business and I'm just an upfront person that tells people. Nothing wrong because you lied about it . It's your business and not theirs so what if you don't want to tell anyone that's your choice.
