    Increased fertility

Wow ladies that is great, gives me and my wife hope now. Did anyone have cyst on there ovary's before the wls that was stopping them from getting prego?
  2. Does anyone else hate taking their meds now I'm only 3 weeks post op but every time I take meds it often feels like I'm eating and feel sick afterwards. Its almost like I feel full just from taking my meds, and this sucks? Comments anyone? I have to take about 7 different things daily, and sometimes I don't take em all because of this ?

    Meds making me feel full

    Thank you Ms. Cali
  4. Awesome congrats on your progress......
  5. I have stopped drinking the protein shakes and the shots myself, since I'm in mushies I'm eating tuna salad 100 calories and 3 grams of fat and 13 grams of protein in each starkist pouch. Taste a lot better. Hope you find something that will help you soon.
  6. Wow this surgery is so different for everyone, I know you must have felt so scared when this happens. I was so paranoid about returning to work because I was in so much pain but I'm 3 weeks out and I'm like I don't want this surgery to be a crutch to stop me from doing anything . But when it comes to nausea and vomiting its really scary not knowing whats really going inside our extremely small sleeves. I hope you get to feeling better and stay hydrated. I find myself not wanting to drink and even take meds because of the dizzy and nausea.

    Crushing pills

I just take the whole pill, I found no matter how I do it crush it, half, and etc I still feel like crap after taking my meds. It makes me feel sick for a hour or so after.
  8. Hello everyone, I went to my one week post op checkup earlier this week and since surgery I have noticed I have a heightened sense of smell, and taste. I know it sounds weird but I talked to the PA and she was telling me that its quite often that people have heightened senses after the sleeve. One thing that I don’t like about this is that for some reason I can smell peoples breath and it always smells bad and sometimes really weird. When I drink things like Protein shakes if I have to much it starts to give me a metallic taste in my mouth. Drinking powerade zero’s start to taste like jello. This is the only thing I hate worse than the soar belly and blood clot in my right arm. The PA told me that this heightened senses are usually caused because of the anesthesia . Has anyone else experienced this at any time?
  9. Thanks for the replies I just had to know if I was the only superhuman,lol....
  10. I cant stand the protein drinks after post op and the sugar free jello included. Both give me the worst runs. I think I will be eating soup and just mashing any solids down.

    Disappointed in myself...

It's just normal to fall off the wagon every now and then , just get back on it. Your going to do just fine/. Don't let the scale rule your emotions.

    Newbie.....Sort of!

Welcome, and if you stick to the pre op diet you could loose a lot of weight before surgery. I had a total of 32 lbs lost just by the pre op diet before surgery. Hopefully you have similar or better results than I did. Never look back and please stay focused on your future. It is not easy at first but you will make it.

    Texas Sleevers!

Do not let anyone including family stop you from becoming healthier and most of all stop you from doing what you know is right. I have been one of those people that you see that have lost almost a hundred pounds by myself following the Larry North program, it was a very easy program to adapt to but in the end it was not for me, I bought Nutri System lost over 50 lbs On that , I worked out all the time ,and guess what it still wasn't for me. I was young in my mid 20' like yourself. I'm 35 and me and my wife were really overweight I was 316 5FT 9 my wife was in her 290's 5 ft 11 and we both realized if we are ever to be truly happy and say that we did everything we would change our life's for good. Yes I have heard all the negative things people say and most of them came from people our own size and even close friends. But no matter what this is what we want our lives to be new and better. So keep pushing and go for it.

    Cheating on Pre-op diet !

I say just don't make it a habit and get back on the wagon. I cheated a few times on my pre op diet and my surgeon still found my liver to be great to do the surgery. With the food you said you cheated on shouldn't really be considered a massive setback cheat because you had a balanced protein and yes a high carb meal, but you didn't have a all you can eat buffet. The pre op diet is to get you ready for those days ahead that you will not be eating any food for total of 6 weeks. Taking a bite here and there you will start to realize that you really don't want the food and will stick to your good ole liquid diet. I lost 32 lbs on my pre op diet, and I didn't exercise but very light walking at work and drinking all that yummy liquid. I had to go to the bathroom a lot and it was mentally hard but no matter what you think you will make it and don't be mad at yourself. You can't fix years of bad eating in 2 weeks. The surgery is a tool that you will use and rely on to assist you with making better choices. You can do this, trust me after the surgery you will not be hungry and that feeling that your having now will decrease as the days go by. No matter what don't quit and don't feel bad.

    August 7 is Surgery day!

Good luck and prepare for a lot of gas pain, as soon as you can get to our room and they allow you start walking immediately, I woke up after post op in so much pain but I knew that I needed to walk . I did not get very far but I was able to walk just enough to let teh gas pain start slowing down. You will hurt and have the driest mouth for 24 hours but it slowly gets better. Take it easy once you get home.

    Texas Sleevers!

I'm in Lewisville, TX close to just about everything I'm post op day 6 today. Nice to see a lot of people near me.
  25. I know this forum section is a couple years old but I'm 6 days out POST op and I'm having the exact same pain in the same location. I had my surgery at Baylor Trophy club, and it was by Dr Adam Smith. I hope this pain goes away. It burns and feels like I'm being cut with a knife. I also have a superficial blood clot in my right arm near my elbow pain oh pain.
