  1. I'm in the same boat. I get full very quick and at times I get mad because I feel like I was just getting into eating this, and bamn, no more hunger signals start coming from the sleeve. On the bright side I don't spend a lot of money on food. When I used to eat like crazy I would spend so much money at fast food places it was crazy sometimes 300 in a month for 2 people. Now I don't even care about fast food and it just doesn't make sense to spend money on something I can't really eat. So far I'm always able to eat a whole pouch of Starkist light tuna salad in a 100 calorie pack all the time. Other than that its always half of anything else bigger. A few days back I made home made cheeseburgers for me, and the wife ,we both didn't get much down . Its nerve wrecking and a life saver. I can never see me over eating or becoming that crazy over food again.
  2. I have hit a plateu in my 3rd week as well, I really didn't do anything different ,and my diet was pretty much the same during the stall. I was upset for about two weeks and then just last weekend everything started slowly moving along. I have been dropping ounces just about everyday and I'm looking forward to just let my body do its own thing. I used to work out a lot some years back I would lift weights and stay active but the fact I am an emotional eater, I gained all the weight back, and even with working out I was still big as a bear. So now I plan on just eating right and walk alot for my cardio. I'm done with killing my body for a number on a scale. I'm glad to see that more people are sharing their strengths and weakness.
  3. The hard part about emotional eating is to break the cycle. You know what your triggers are for an episode of the non stop munchies to start. Lord knows I know what mine are,and I do my best to stay away from that but every now and then I will take a bite of something and realize that I can not do that everyday. One thing you can always do is just ask yourself before you eat will this food give me what my body needs, or is it just a mental craving. I think all my problems come from my eyes, and my mind. my stomach is small and could care less what I put into it as long as it gets somthing the tummy is ok. Its hard to control our eating but we can do it. I'm in school right now getting my 2nd Masters, and I work full time so I just make sure I eat and drink every 3 to 4 hours and that helps me keep satisfied.
  4. Best advice ,right on the money sugar is just as bad as drugs for some of us.

    African American Sleevers

My heart goes out to you, my wife had blod clots a few times and the dr had to take her of one thinner and change it with the shots just before her surgery. I believe when your body heals enough ,you will be able to have the surgery. Praying for you.

Blue Shield Denial - so upset

I hate when I hear these stories of how big brother insurance companies sit on their fat wallet s,we pay them money every month or pay period and never cheat them out of their money. Here is someone that has a medical need for wls,and is getting flushed down the scapegoat bs. If your BMI is that high and not to mention the diabetes is dangerous enough. If you have wls your health will increase and then you won't have to be on a supervised wl program. You wouldn't be needing surgery if you could control your weight . I hope you get your surgery and you are able to feel better soon. good luck to you, stay focused.
  7. I had to do this but it was fairly simple they just wanted to know what other things I have tried and how long did I try to loose weight. You should call insurance and ask exactly what you need to provide. What insurance company do you have?
  8. Who cares what others say, its your life and body. We couldn't hide that we were fat,and everybody still showed us love and attention. Keep it a secret for what????

Day 4 of pre op diet

It wouldn't hurt to maybe do your last 2 days at 100% liquids that will really help clean you out and make sure you don't have any undigested food in that tummy.

    I'm alone: I hate this.

My heart goes out to you but in time wounds do heal and you will be just fine. You have made it this far and your still breathing even through the hard times. Don't let your setbacks determine your future. I'm praying for you and I know you will be back on your feet in no time....

    Invisible Weight Loss

They notice but some may not say anything just because there jealous. If you looking good who cares what they say. Keep up the good work.
  23. Wow I'm very happy with the weight loss for my first month post op 23 pounds, this does not include my pre op weight I lost. I'm motivated to keep going and hope to be at least down to 250 lbs by my b day in October. How much did you loose during your first month post op?
  24. I would recommend you leave the protein shakes alone at least until week 2 that alone will upset your new sleeve. Your pain sounds pretty normal to me because I went through this stage and iI was just miserable. My symptoms were at there worst in week 2 up till week 3. You may want to call your dr's office just to check with he or she to determine your pain level, but for me I had to deal with it,and it did get better in week 3. I know it seems like a long time from now but it does get better. You can try some Gas x chewables until you can make it . Gas X really helped me with feeling no gas symptoms.
