December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log

Hi there.... What I am doing is talking your total weight lost from your highest weight, not from your date of surgery. I am adding that up with everyone else and posting those pounds lost. Not everyone who has given me their goal has recorded their weight loss so I am just taking the numbers I have and adding them up. You should never feel behind in your weight loss journey...each person loses their weight as their body allows them. This is just a place to celebrate every pound lost...if it's one of one hundred...we're here to celebrate. Hope that helps!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I use Unjury unflavored protein powder - www.unjury.com I also have Jarrow unflavored protein powder I got through Amazon.com, but prefer the Unjury. There are a LOT of different ones for sure!
  11. So, I have spent some quality time on Pinterest and realized that I am so used to wearing oversized, hide my fat, schleppy clothes that I have absolutely NO idea what my style is going to be when I can wear clothes with style. It's so weird looking at all of those pictures of skinny ladies in skin tight clothes...I just keep thinking 'never gonna happen'.

    sugar free jello

I think I have heard that some people have SF pudding on their liquid stage - I could only have SF Jello Gelatin on my liquid stage so when I moved to pureed it was like HEAVEN to be able to have the pudding. It's still the easiest thing for me to get down my sleeve, even 3 days later. Throw in a tbsp of Protein powder and it's a great protein snack! Hope you are doing well!

    What are you eating today?

Today I have had: 8 oz Protein shake for breakfast 1/2 cup chocolate SF pudding with 1 tbsp Protein powder for snack 1/4 cup of chicken chili pureed & 1/4 cup of cottage cheese w/ 1 tbsp of protein powder for lunch 1 Outshine SF strawberry popsicle for snack Planning dinner now...possibly: 1/4 cup corn beef hash pureed 1/4 cup greek yogurt with 1 tbsp of protein powder.

    was sleeved 12/26/2013

Hi Erica, Each person is different in their pain. I am 17 days post op, and I still have pain when sleeping on my side, walking more than 15 minutes at a time, reaching for something, bending down to pick something up (good heavens, dropping the soap in the shower has led me to tears before). I was always told this - I have to remember that I just had major surgery, and that majority of your tummy is gone, this is not an easy recovery for some people, but it WILL get better. Make sure you are getting your walks in, and keeping the effort off of your abdomen when doing things...you need that time to recover! We're rooting for you!
  15. Holy moly, I never even thought of looking at Pinterest...better make my way over there now!

December 2013 Sleever Pounds Lost Log

Well, I'm not sure why that posted that way, I was just editing the original post...sorry about that. Incidentally, while I am here, I just wanted to let you know that we currently have SEVENTY THREE December sleevers that have joined the pounds lost party! That is just AWESOME, and we keep getting more people almost every day! We very well may get to the 10,000 pound mark! (We're currently at 9,010 pounds). Will be posting an updated pounds lost number on Monday, so be sure to get your pounds recorded. Remember, I am doing this from highest weight, so even if you are still pre-op (although that won't be much longer for you sleevers next week), you can still join in on the fun! We want to record your TOTAL weight loss from your highest weight!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Maemo...I think almost all of us have gone through some of what you are going through. I was sleeved on Dec. 11th and until yesterday could hardly get in 16 oz of Water. What I realized was that I no longer can stand the taste of tap water. I had no idea that my taste for water would change, but when I got bottled water yesterday, it was like heaven, and I was able to get in almost 40 oz of just water alone. I had to do 2 weeks liquid diet post-op and was able to move to puréed foods Christmas mornin, which in itself caused a few tears and the 'what have I done to myself' question, but I promise it does get easier. This is a humongous learning process for every one of us...we have to find what we like now, because it may be completely different post-op. Hang in there....we're here for you!

  21. My hope is to be able to wear something that didn't come from Lane Bryant!

    sugar free jello

I am on the puréed stage and can have sugar free pudding. It's actually one of the easiest things for me to eat right now, and I add in a tablespoon on unflavored protein powder which makes it a high protein snack.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Thanks so much Atlanta for updating the list. I admit I fell behind in keeping up with that and the other thread as well. Just an update on the pounds lost thread...we're getting super close to having a goal weight loss of almost 10,000 pounds. As of today, we are at 8,641 pounds to be lost. That is unbelievable...I remember when I was hoping for 5,000 pounds. If you are still interested in joining the weight loss party, the thread can be found here: http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/288367-december-2013-sleever-pounds-lost-log/ We'd love to have you join!
