Switching Addictions
I definately use food as a stress reducing tool but now it just doesn't work as well. Over the past few months I have been replacing food with exercise when stressed. Doesn't always work out but it can help sometimes.

How many incisions did you wind up with after surgery?
I wonder why some surgeons use 4, 5 or 6 incisions? Not that it really matters - I am 7 months out and my incisions are tiny and really nothing - just curious in case anyone knows.

Right Above My Port I feel......................
I just checked it and that is for sure what I am feeling. I am not that thin yet but I have very little (always have had little) abdominal fat - mine is all elsewhere. Thanks for the info.

I have a consult on 3/31. MY skin is getting me down. I know I still look better than before but naked I look HORRIBLE. EVERYTHING is sliding down.

You add it to milk and it IS YUMMY!

Sore throat and slow moving food.
It sounds to me like you are eating too much and irritating your esophagus. That happened to me after my last fill when I was still adjusting to eating less.

Right Above My Port I feel......................
I was just looking to see if anyone had this issue. I think I feel my tubing too! Weird. Not comfortable either.

Wish me luck - first blind date since surgery
I feel a little better with your support. Dating s*&cks! Particuarly when I dont feel great about my body in this transition stage. Also since I am losing weight quickly nothing ever looks "great" for more than a week or two.

Dr. Pomp -- New York Hospital
And he has been great. I should have written that in my first post. Totally trust him and his staff.

Dr. Pomp -- New York Hospital
Yes, he is my surgeon. Feel free to send me a private message if you have any questions.

Spinning class?
I think it will be fine at your weight. I started at like 220. You can adjust the resistance to your fitness level and who really cares how you look? When you walk out of the room nobody will give it another thought and you will feel great. go for it.

Sushi?
ask for soybean paper - it is pretty soft. or just get sashimi or tartar. I love sushi!

Hospital stay?

Wish me luck - first blind date since surgery
He sent me a rejection email that he felt no "chemistry" with me. I guess I am hideous.. just joking really. Not confidence inspiring though.

Wish me luck - first blind date since surgery
Not sure how it went. He wasn't quite what I expected - very nice and interesting - we talked easily. Not sure if the attraction was there on either side. I guess I wait to hear if he wants to go out again? He didn't say anything at the end of the date so that seems bad but on the other hand I am not sure what I want either. At least I got my feet wet. Also the eating went fine, I was very worried about that because I am pretty restricted and you know how it is when you need to talk and eat.

New NSV for me!!!
Definately! You look GREAT!

Wish me luck - first blind date since surgery
I am trying to think of this as a "test date" I haven't been on a blind date in years because I was recently out of a relationship right before surgery. I know I should look better now but I don't feel very attractive. Can you tell I am nervous?? Wish me luck tonight!

StephC's PS journey/I got approved!!
Thanks for your response. I have to call my insurance company and get some info from them. I get the occasional rash under my stomach - I actually thought to take a pic last time. THey are pretty tolerable though between you and me. I also find running increasingly difficult because of the swinging skin and need to wear super duper spandex to keep things from flying away. Finding other things uncomfortable with the skin on butt - won't get to graphic here. Anyway I hope that combined with the need for a hernia repair my insurance company will cover some of my costs. Good luck to you and keep us updated on your progress!

Feeling like a failure...
Get a george foreman grill. You can put chicken, fish etc. on there even veggies and no cooking is neccessary!

Coping with Body Image Issues
See I have the hernia problem so I may decide to do it even before I am at my "goal weight". I have been losing pretty steadily but would like to lose another 30lbs or so total. I probably will opt for the end of the summer or early fall unless my hernia really starts bothering me in which case I may have to do it earlier. 60lbs is a great loss. The exercise has been really helping me lose steadily even when I am not eating as wisely as I could. I also have been really well restricted for over 2 months now.

Coping with Body Image Issues
I am seeing some people at NYH because that is where I always go. It seems like you have been doing great too. What is your timeframe for PS?
