kwigillingok reacted to ItsMe2033 in How do I tell him I am not interested?
Often the kindest thing may involve inflicting a little pain. I think if he had the capability of picking up subtle hints of disinterest he would have already picked up on them by now. I think that what Jane suggests will work, for a while, but since he won't pick up on the subtle hints you've already given him, I think telling him that you are exploring something with someone else right now only invites him to contact you again in a few months to see where he stands.
I think if you kindly told him where he stood, he would be less inclined to pursue you later. Something along the lines of "I enjoyed meeting you, but I just don't think we have enough in common to go out anymore." It's courteous, it doesn't waste his time by leaving him any room to believe that there could be a future together, and it doesn't place any blame on him. Furthermore, it's the truth.

kwigillingok got a reaction from Texasgrandma in I've lost a 10 year old!
According to the chart at my doctor's office, a 10 year old should weigh about 70 pounds. That's how much I've lost this year, 25 of it since my surgery 9/16. I'm feeling pretty good about that right now!
Had my one month follow up appointment this afternoon and I had prepared myself to be lectured by the surgeon about not having lost enough weight. Surprisingly, he was happy with my progress as well. Of course he couldn't let me enjoy it for long, because he made sure to remind me that 25 pounds, considering what I have to lose, is just a drop in the bucket. Wants me to lose 90 pounds in the next five months, and I honestly have no idea if that's doable or not but I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing since apparently it's working!
I'm having a lot of people come up to me at work now commenting on the fact that I'm losing weight, funny how that happens. Nobody goes up to a coworker and says, "hey man, looks like you've aired up that old spare tire". I don't mind the questions, just don't understand why people care so much about someone else's body. /shrug
I looked in the mirror today and I saw a real difference in my appearance, talk about surreal! I'm really looking forward to seeing what I look like in another 70 pounds! And collar bones, I wanna see my collar bones!!

A 10 year old child eh...A few months ago my daughter called me and told me that I had lost a baby giraffe. Excuse me...Yah she said you lost the same amount as a baby giraffe weighs...Boy did I feel good about that....not!!!!
Anyway now I am invisible, no one recognizes me..That is a strange feeling...No one asks me any questions because no one I know knows who I am..they walk right by me and don't see me.....I stood beside a friends son last week in the grocery store and he did not know it was me..i did not tell him either....So strange!
I do have collar bones now and bony hips.....That scares me a bit....
Your doing great kid..Keep the eye on the prize and just keep swimming and it will all happen...Best to you!

Doctor gave me the ok to do some easy walking now so I'm jumping in. Did 1.3 miles this morning, nice and slow. I'll be happy if I can get 20 miles by the end of the month.
I just can't let y'all have all the fun.

I don't know if I would have had the will power to throw it away' date=' good for you! I ate 2 bites of pumpkin pie guts over the weekend, no crust just the filing. I think I saw a recipe somewhere for making it with Protein added. Gonna have to look for that.
I crochet, and enter a toy dragon that I made this summer.

Thank you! I learned how when I was 12 years old, so I've been doing it going on 26 years now. It's relaxing to me, but I think I need to look for hobby that's a bit more active to share time with my crochet!

kwigillingok reacted to gamergirl in Pumpkin Caramel Bake Soft foods, high protein
Sorry I feel like I'm bombarding the food board today but catching up with the stuff I neglected to post this week. Okay let's be honest, this isn't desert, but it's as close as I'm going to come to it right now, so I decided to enjoy it.
    Pics here: http://sleevers.wordpress.com/2013/10/02/pumpkin-caramel-bake-high-protein-low-carb-gluten-free/
Fall weather is here in Texas and it’s time to make something with pumpkin that’s still sleeve friendly. I adapted this from eggface’s pumpkin ricotta bake. It would actually make a nice Breakfast dish as well.
    Ingredients
    2 eggs beaten
    1 c ricotta cheese
    1/2 c pumpkin puree
    1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
    1/2 c sugar-free Caramel Syrup (I used Torani)
    1 packet Stevia (optional)
    Toppings
    Handful of dried craisins
    Handful of slivered almonds
    Method
    1. Mix together all ingredients. Pour into greased pan.
    2. Sprinkle toppings .
    3. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour or until knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Really, does it get simpler than this?
    4. Let it cool or eat warm with whipped cream.

Alcohol YES please. Oh um yes I tolerate alcohol but not to the excess I was able to before sleeve. I have not touched a beer since pre surgery and never will. I now enjoy some wine a few times a week. Most I can drink in a little over a glass. I get bad headaches if I drink more than that now. Otherwise I had no issues.

14 miles today plus the 4 I did yesterday, bring me to 61 for the month. I'm sure I'll hop on the bike again later today since I'm home all weekend with no plans, might as well exercise!

I will have my first post surgery date, in a couple of weeks. Guy knows about my surgery, he sent me flowers while I was in the hospital and talked to me on phone pre op to help me through jitters then talked to me immediately post op and through the night, making sure I was ok. We've been friends for over a year, if only he didn't live in Georgia... I will be 6 weeks out by time he visits so we will go to dinner and I'll watch him eat! Lol
