    Hi Chelsi

I was told to have 100 gr Protein minimum per day.

Your calorie count is high at 1100 for just 100 gr Protein.< /p>

My 100 gr protein comes in at 600 calories. (Of course I eat other things in addition)

Are you eating cheese? I do not. calorie to protein ratio too high.

If you'd like more details on what I eat let me know.

I eat cheese, but not really a lot? I usually have a cheese stick as a snack some time in the evening and a slice or two with lunch rolled up in cold cuts. I would love to know how your typical meal plan goes, if you wouldn't mind! Thank you so much!

  2. I was really bad the last few weeks (on vacation!) and was at a stall. I definitely know it was diet related. I wasn't much of a tracker, but since getting back I've tracked religiously and noticed that i'm getting anywhere from 100-120 grams of Protein in a day. and that's with about 1100 calories a day. is that too much? I'm not due to see my doctor for another few weeks and I'll definitely ask the nutritionist when i'm there, but i'd like to get some feedback. as always, thanks! you guys are the best!

  3. I'm 25 and had the sleeve done five months ago. I had originally gone to my surgeon's seminar wanting to get the lapband, but luckily he did a presentation on all three of the surgeries he performed and also mentioned briefly about the band and plication (spelling?). I was really happy that I had attended the seminar because it gave me all of the information I needed, and my husband and mom went with me so they were both educated in helping me come to a decision. I have a lot of weight to lose, so after I had read stories of people with the band only losing 50+ and a lot of the risks and complications that can happen, I was really turned off of it. The bypass scared me because of how intense of a surgery is, and the sleeve was just right (this sounds like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, right?). I highly recommend going to support groups before you even consider the surgery because it's real people who will tell you REAL answers to questions you have. Every single thing that my fellow sleeve people told me to watch out for happened after my surgery. And it was nice that I had them to turn to when I needed their advice. All in all, it's not a decision to take lightly, it's definitely a complete lifestyle change. But so far, for me, it's only improved my life. I hope this helps! Good luck! :)

  4. I had mine the morning after my surgery so that I could be cleared for liquids. Mine consisted of me drinking a small amount of some dye and then they performed an x-ray while I swallowed it and watched it go down to make sure nothing leaked. It was disgusting, and after eating nothing for nearly two days but ice chips, it's the last thing you want to drink. But I was glad that I got the okay to move onto liquids. It's not that bad! The worst part was waiting to go back up to my room. But every surgeon is different, I believe.

  5. old navy clearance has been a lifesaver for me. i found jeans at thrift stores like savers and the goodwill for $5-$10 usually. sweatpants are great too, but i'm lucky because i'm allowed to wear them at work. make sure you're donation your old clothes! i happened to come into contact with another bariatric patient who's a few sizes bigger than me, so i've been giving her all of my old stuff.

  6. i found that during the post op diet your head hunger is the worst because you know you CAN'T have something. it's frustrating. once you're cleared for all foods (at least i found) it got much better. in fact, i've gone out with friends to restaurants and not even ordered anything because i was STILL full from a previous meal. sometimes i have to make myself eat because i forget it's been like 4-5 hours since my last meal or snack. it will get better! you just have to trek on through it. plus, remember that popsicles and Jello (at least on my plan) counted towards your liquids for the day, so that's good! two birds, one stone!

  7. you might want to play around with what type of pill you're on. the first bcp i was on was loestrin 24 and holy crap it made me NUTS! i stayed on it for about 8 months before i couldn't take it anymore and i went back to my ob/gyn. i was then put on apri which was MUCH better. it was a different hormone. when i kept forgetting to take my pill at the same time everyday i finally opted for the nuvaring which is ten times better than the pill. three weeks in, one week out! don't have to worry about another damn pill in addition to all our Vitamins already. haha. good luck though!

  8. the first week i had a 13lb weight loss. from there it's basically been around 10lbs/month. the first week is because we lose all the Water we retained from the fluids we got during surgery. i'm right there with you in terms of losing about 10lbs/month, but we have to look at it as would we have lost this 10lbs without the sleeve? i know for sure i wouldn't have. :)

  9. just want to point out that a lot of people advise to not stock up on Protein powders and bars until after your surgery. a lot of people's taste buds change (mine included). before surgery i preferred the powder to ready-to-drink shakes, but after surgery i find the powder way too sweet for me (except the chike iced coffee) so i mostly drink the premier and pure protein ready-to-drink shakes. drink what you like best pre-op, but buy a few samples or individual shakes for post-op because things might change. good luck!
