  1. Hi, I'm living in Dubai but am a Britt! I had my op back in The UK and I'm six weeks out. I have lost 2st 6lbs and I'm sooooo pleased! I was lucky I only had to do a low carb diet one week before my op and one day of liquids. I am on puréed foods and I am eating very healthily. I have been given eating plans by stages. I love my sleeve the best thing I have done. Good luck to you :-)
  2. You look fabulous :-) well done!
  3. Wow you look TINY! Great work :-)
  4. My surgeon said as soon as I could perform an emergency stop comfortably! So Imwas driving 5 days after my op.
  5. Wow you look HOT! Well done the hard work has really paid off. Hope I do as well as you :-)
  6. I have a cup every day, though I have had to change to Soya milk as I have become Lactose intolerant. My surgeon said it may contribute to heartburn but was not against me drinking it if I so chose. I do have to take meds for heartburn but I love my coffee and it's a real treat for me and with the Soya milk keeps my protien up. I have read a lot of people are told not to drink it but I don't know why.
  7. Glad you asked this as I was rather worried that I could drink lot's. Thanks :-) helped me as well!
  8. My mother-in-law is a fit and healthy 75 year old who eats like a bird. She eats very healthily. It's about the quality of the food we eat regards to attaining our vitamins and minerals, not the amount of food we eat. There are many obese people who are male nourished! We will be fine if we stick to healthy food and we can eat little and often to get the amount we need. :-)

So looking forward to that being ME lol. Must be the feeling :-)
  10. Wow you look fabulous :-)
  11. I'm a bit of an open book so no hiding it for me! I do understand we are all different so what is right for one is not for another. I have been very lucky that I have faced very little negativity and like thedivinemsQ I have just shut it down. I love my sleeve it's the thing I have ever done for myself. I am enjoying this journey and looking ahead :-)
  12. I was scarred and thought about writing good bye notes to my loved ones lol. I have lived to tell the tale and it's all good. I have no regrets at all. Loved ones worry about the op, complications ect and how we may change personality wise. This is for you and your boyfriend will learn to live with it. Hopefully once he sees it's the right thing for you he will become supportive. What are his reasons and can your surgeon help settle his fears? Good luck.

Try not to beat your self up to much! We all make bad chooses sometimes. Pre surgery I also struggled. The surgery has been life changing to me! though I remind myself daily it is only a tool. At the moment am never hungry and have to remind my self to eat but this will change. I follow what my surgeon and nut tell me completely. Our minds will still try to play tricks on us, I have seen a councillor to help with this and for me it has really helped. Good luck and stay focused x
  14. My surgeon is one of the top guys in England and says No No to carbonated drinks. He says it's not just the stretching but it can increase hunger later on. I must say I am someone who does as they are told unless it's my husband telling me lol. Good luck with what way you choose to go.
  15. Wow well done! Just starting this journey and taking all the good advice I can get from those who are so successful. I have changed my mind set completely I don't want to be back where I was ever. I need to start working on the fitness part now lol. Thanks for you inspiring post.
  16. Stunning! You make me feel its possible thanks :-)
  17. I have told everyone that I'm doing this as it seemed easier than avoiding! I have had quite a bit of negativity! how I deal with it is to say "I have done my research and know 100% this is right for me". Speak with conviction and see how those doubters become quite. Some are only trying to look out for us and others have no idea what this op is all about. At the end of the day it's your decision and you have made for good reason :-)
  18. I'm going to join you and swim, swim, swim because you are looking fab, fab, fab :-)
  19. My BMI is 37 and I have been told to do a no carbs, low fab, protein diet. After I have the op I have to do liquids for 6 weeks. Funny how it's all different! Good luck to us all and best wishes :-)
  20. Very well said! From my experience when I speak with conviction on my decision, the doubters become quite. It's amazing how some think they know so much better what is good for us than ourselves. Telling everybody about my decision to have this op has been liberating for me, as I have always been a people pleaser. Facing up to the doubters has started to help me become more assertive. This is helping me to be more confident in facing personality types that I find intimidating/ bullish. Go us VSG we will have the last laugh!
  21. I have my date confirmed now for the 16th August whoop! Whoop! I start my pre-op diet 2nd August low carb, low fat. Wow thought I would be on liquids for two weeks so this should be fine. So excited and a bit nervous lol
  22. I have taken some before pictures as well! I HATE them! Is that really me I thought. These pictures are going to be the old me, I will be looking forward to having the after ones done. Well I might have to peg the lose skin with a bucket of pegs lol. As lest I'll look better in cloths ha ha :-)
  23. I sooo don't envy you! Such a difficult one! I have a teen who can detect a lie from the blink of an eye, though is a master of telling them lol. Don't get me wrong I love teens, though they get stuck in my teeth ha ha. Joking apart, I'm sure that they, will be glad to see that, you are ok after your op. I would say, it was for something that at the moment, I don't want to talk about and then leave it at that. They will properly be concerned, so just reassure them your fine. That way, if later on when the weight is vanishing and you decided you want to tell them, no lies need to be untold. I have found with teens trust is incredibly important. Good luck :-)
  24. Wow inspirational! You look so fabulous, what a great achievement well done :-)
