  4. I have just read the post above mine. I didn't graze I just used to eat loads of food all of the time lol so the sleeve is good for me. The sleeve is a Tool and yes it can be abused, though I think you would have to be eating all of the wrong things continuously. We are never going to be able to eat loads in one sitting again. From what I have read some people gain some of the weight back, due to going back to old trigger foods and bad habits. Even little amounts of hight fat foods and foods high in sugar and bad carbs can have enormous amounts of calories in. I don't know that much about the bypass apart from you will always have to take supplements. Which is not the end of the world. I believe it is also a more complicated op.
  5. Hi, I'm living in Dubai but am a Britt! I had my op back in The UK and I'm six weeks out. I have lost 2st 6lbs and I'm sooooo pleased! I was lucky I only had to do a low carb diet one week before my op and one day of liquids. I am on puréed foods and I am eating very healthily. I have been given eating plans by stages. I love my sleeve the best thing I have done. Good luck to you :-)
  6. You look fabulous :-) well done!

    Post op question about coffee

I have a cup every day, though I have had to change to Soya milk as I have become Lactose intolerant. My surgeon said it may contribute to heartburn but was not against me drinking it if I so chose. I do have to take meds for heartburn but I love my coffee and it's a real treat for me and with the Soya milk keeps my protien up. I have read a lot of people are told not to drink it but I don't know why.
  11. Glad you asked this as I was rather worried that I could drink lot's. Thanks :-) helped me as well!

    older age

My mother-in-law is a fit and healthy 75 year old who eats like a bird. She eats very healthily. It's about the quality of the food we eat regards to attaining our vitamins and minerals, not the amount of food we eat. There are many obese people who are male nourished! We will be fine if we stick to healthy food and we can eat little and often to get the amount we need. :-)

    Open sleevers?

I'm a bit of an open book so no hiding it for me! I do understand we are all different so what is right for one is not for another. I have been very lucky that I have faced very little negativity and like thedivinemsQ I have just shut it down. I love my sleeve it's the thing I have ever done for myself. I am enjoying this journey and looking ahead :-)
  16. I was scarred and thought about writing good bye notes to my loved ones lol. I have lived to tell the tale and it's all good. I have no regrets at all. Loved ones worry about the op, complications ect and how we may change personality wise. This is for you and your boyfriend will learn to live with it. Hopefully once he sees it's the right thing for you he will become supportive. What are his reasons and can your surgeon help settle his fears? Good luck.

    Temptation

Try not to beat your self up to much! We all make bad chooses sometimes. Pre surgery I also struggled. The surgery has been life changing to me! though I remind myself daily it is only a tool. At the moment am never hungry and have to remind my self to eat but this will change. I follow what my surgeon and nut tell me completely. Our minds will still try to play tricks on us, I have seen a councillor to help with this and for me it has really helped. Good luck and stay focused x

    soda

My surgeon is one of the top guys in England and says No No to carbonated drinks. He says it's not just the stretching but it can increase hunger later on. I must say I am someone who does as they are told unless it's my husband telling me lol. Good luck with what way you choose to go.
  19. Wow well done! Just starting this journey and taking all the good advice I can get from those who are so successful. I have changed my mind set completely I don't want to be back where I was ever. I need to start working on the fitness part now lol. Thanks for you inspiring post.

    5 months out

Stunning! You make me feel its possible thanks :-)
  21. I have told everyone that I'm doing this as it seemed easier than avoiding! I have had quite a bit of negativity! how I deal with it is to say "I have done my research and know 100% this is right for me". Speak with conviction and see how those doubters become quite. Some are only trying to look out for us and others have no idea what this op is all about. At the end of the day it's your decision and you have made for good reason :-)

I'm going to join you and swim, swim, swim because you are looking fab, fab, fab :-)
  23. My BMI is 37 and I have been told to do a no carbs, low fab, protein diet. After I have the op I have to do liquids for 6 weeks. Funny how it's all different! Good luck to us all and best wishes :-)
