  1. My doctor only requires a one week liquid diet prior to surgery. This week I started incorporating protein shakes for breakfast and supper, but eating a small healthy lunch. I've been drinking water with my sugar-free flavors. Next week, my diet will consist of 2-3 protein shakes a day (I'm using Syntrax Matrix), broth, sugar-free popsicles/pudding/jello, fat free milk. I will switch to decaf coffee and tea with artificial sweeteners, neither is that big of a change for me. I will have the liquid only diet the day before my surgery. I have my pre-op appt with my surgeon on July 17th, I also attend my required nutrition class that morning. I am so ready for this!! Good luck to all!!
  2. Good luck to you Rodrita!
  3. I have already began incorporating the pre-op liquid diet into my routine a week earlier than required, just so I could have an easier transition to the full week next week.
  4. Hi Erick, I'm Tonya and new to the forums myself. My surgery is on July 24th, good luck!!
  5. Congrats! When is your nutrition class? Mine is on the 17th. I am so excited, yet nervous and looking forward to getting to a healthy weight and off my meds!
  6. Hi! I'm in the Birmingham area. My surgeon is Dr. Lee Schmitt at St. Vincent's East. My surgery is scheduled for July 24th!!
  7. I've told my close family members, my b/f, his parents and five people at work that I am good friends with. My bff has is already planned out that when I can have solid foods, we're going to lunch, she's going to order the food and I'm going to eat my two bites off her plate! :-) She has been really supportive, more than the b/f has! It is a personal decision and you have to decide what is best for you and no one else!
