Hey Chris, 49 yr old male RT (Respiratory Therapist) from Detroit area here. You will do fine with the surgery. Im 9 wks post op and doing wonderful. The one thing I have to say is eat slow. Being a hospital employee I think we tend to eat our meals fast. Afraid the beeper will go off and lunch is over. Thats been my biggest issue. As for the plus side of my sleeve: Im down nearly 50 lbs since surgery 2/3/14 and almost 90 since December (pre op diet) Im off of 3 meds of my handful, Ive lost 31 total inches off my body and my BMI is down nearly 12 points. Clothes that didnt come close to fitting 4 months ago now hang on me. I guess I need to dig deeper into my closet. lol. You will rock the sleeve, youve come this far. As for any issues you may have , hang tight, ask us questions and things get better from day one. Just hang tight.

2 NSVs for me so far. My Cardiologist has taken me off my 3rd med since surgery (2/3/14). My Sons friend saw me yesterday, first time since surgery. He said several times...damn Mr D. youre getting small. Im down nearly 50 lbs in the 9 wks since surgery and just shy of 100 lbs since December of 2013. Made me feel so happy.

In order for the finger pulse ox to work. One finger should be free from nail polish. At Teachamy maybe they used an ear probe on you.

I'm drinking 3 protein shakes a day (yes at a month out) Muscle Tech has 20 grams per scoop. Add 2% milk and I'm close. I've been experimenting with what foods I can tolerate and I'm there. The fluids is a challenge some days. I really need to focus on drinking. I am now one of those water bottle carrying people.

That's awesome. No problems here. Sleeved Feb 3rd. It hit 29 lbs this morning and 75 lbs total with pre op diet. I'm taking in around 70 ozs of water, 700 cals and 80 grams of protein per day. It's going to be an awesome summer for us. Here is a picture of my progress. The two pics are maybe 8 woks apart and around 40 lbs.

Jerzie Girl. How are you doing? -
Hi. Day 10 post-op. I'm doing well. I do miss chewing. Today I had a scrambled egg for breakfast. OMG. An egg never tasted so good. The protein shakes are starting to get O L D..... As for my numbers... I'm down 15 lbs since surgery and 61 lbs from the pre-op diet. No pains no real discomfort. It's going to be a great summer for us.

My first post here, been reading for months. Seems a lot of people posting are in the medical field. I thought it would be cool to hear what fellow sleevers do for a living. The wife and I are both Respiratory Therapists here in Michigan. I am just starting this journey with my 8 hour information seminar ( pre-op ) scheduled for later this month. My better half was sleeved the end of April. She is doing awesome. Down 84 lbs total including the pre-op weight loss. Im so excited to get my life back after getting this incredible weight loss tool. Hope to hear from you guys.

Got my sleeve on monday 2/3
BWaltD replied to mimimom2009's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi. I was also sleeved Monday the 3rd. All is well. I'm a tad sore but that's about it. Liquids are going in no problem. I'm up and walking a lot. Things are going good. I'm a happy boy. -
Great this tread is still active. This Respiratory Therapist is now sleeved. Surgery was 2/3/14 and I can say all is well. No problems sipping, getting my fluids and protein in. Walking is going well my OR IV fluids has come off nicely and as of today I am down 5 lbs from Monday morning. I think about the Stephen King movie "Thinner" when I see myself begin to melt. I'm on my way. 2014 is my year!!!
