  1. I'm off track and have been off for almost 2 weeks. I'm pretty dang upset about it. My grandson had Brain surgery and I had to go to Baltimore from Charlotte, NC for the brain surgery. With in one week after driving back I had to drive to Hampton VA for another event. Each time I come back from out of town where I have not been able to do any walking, I'm just so weak. Last time could hardly lift myself up onto my bed. I have only walked once in at lease 2 weeks. I just looked up supports groups in my area, again. I'm so close to my goal weight. But I keep putting on and losing the same 4 pounds.

    My weight loss journey.
  3. You still should get between 60g and 80g of Protein I'm thinking. I've decided to go back to liquid diet to IF I ever stall again. I hope it would be ok. Good luck.
  4. I had cravings at 1 1/2 weeks out from my surgery. Well, I think it was more that I missed EATING. I missed food, chewing and swallowing! I was asking myself "Why did I do this". It felt like I was NEVER gonna eat again. At my 2 week follow up they told me to eat puréed foods and 3 days after my appointment I could start to Folk soft foods. I wanted to kiss my doctor! He made me to so very happy! But I think it was all mental. I JUST MISSED EATING. After I started the puree's it got better. No more stinking thinking. I STILL have moments when I WANT something I shouldn't. But I remember the CASH I payed out of pocket and remember my goal. Having the surgery is one of the best things I could have ever done for myself. HANG IN THERE, IT GETS EASIER.
  5. Good job NOT getting the burrito. My son stopped by there and got one with me in the car. Lol. I didn't touch it! And I'm going to the movies this afternoon, starting praying already for strength not to touch the popcorn. Oh how I love and miss popcorn. I have a old fashion Popcorn machine in my kitchen. It's not easy. Great job.
  6. I'll be taking your list to the grocery store with me. Thanks for the tips!
  7. You'd be surprised! While I hoped I was getting enough protein I was going over 90g of protein. Add up the little things to, the 1 tbsp oils(olive oil), 2tbsp of cheese, 10 black olives, everything! And this is on top of 3oz chicken breast and 1/4c collards etc. Any and all things. Fat serect.com help me keep track now.
  8. Prayers coming your way. God bless.
  9. I just found out yesterday that I've been getting to many grams of protein for me to only 5 weeks out. (97plus). And over 700 cals. To much protein means to many calories. Talked to my NUT yesterday and he told me to be careful. I've been using a scale and should use the 1/4 oz measuring cup for volume not scale for weight. I was scared that I wasn't getting enough protein when I ate to I drank the protein drinks in between meals. THIS IS A NO NO! So yesterday I joined fat secret.com so my proteins and cals can be added for me once I entered what I ate. I've loss 29 lbs in 5 weeks, it's possible I could have loss more.
  10. Awesome! You look great! You are a motivator. I will follow your lead.
  11. Dr. Jon Michael Bruce. He's at "The Sleeve Center" in Cary, NC. He did mine. My surgery was done in Durham, NC at the NORTH CAROLINA SPECIALTY HOSPITAL. Good luck.
  12. The Isopures are like kool aid or like drinking flavored water. I guess you could mix it with ice but I haven't yet. It's not creamy at all. All the flavors are the same consistency. I don't like all the flavors but I like most of them. I like them to because they aren't creamy drinks.
  13. It's like kool aid. Or like drinking flavored Water.
  14. I so miss popcorn. I have an old fashion popcorn machine in my kitchen. Which I may never use again. :-(
  15. Bariatric Advantage meal replacement have a lot of different flavors. Also I love Isopure's, sold at GNC. You can also get them online cheaper at LUCKYVITAMIN.COM. Here in Charlotte, NC at GNC they're buy 3 get 1 free. I don't like all the flavors but I LOVE the green Apple and the blue Blueberry. Hopes this helps.
  16. Every doctor is different. Mine don't want us to drink alcohol for 1 year because it has a much more effect after surgery. Most people feel the effects of alcohol after just a few sips. You're also drinking empty calories that can sabotage your weight loss goals. BUT if we do drink it to make sure it's 30min plus after we've eaten. The food will help absorb the alcohol as not to get loopy.
  17. Feel free to vent. We are going though some major changes here. I'm 5 weeks post my reborn day, June 24, 2013. At two weeks out it felt like I was never gonna eat(chew and swallow) ever again. I hated the taste of the protein meal replacements drinks, to sweet. I started feeling like, why did I do this? I felt like I was never gonna enjoy a dinner out with my husband ever again. I was sick of drinking, trying to get in my numbers. Lord help me!! And He did. I eat Low sodium 97% fat free, thin sliced lunch meats. Black olives(I love them) for the right kinda fat. Cook meats in my crock pot. Just keep trying. You'll get it. I have faith in you.
  18. Just tell them you are eating better, which you are. I know how you feel. I'm going on a curse in Oct and I will be 3 month out then. I can't take my Isopure's which I love but you can get them for your trip. They are 40g protein. I don't like all the flavors but try them all to see which you like. At GNC they have many flavors and are buy 3 get 1 free here in Charlotte, NC. You can also order them on line @ Lucky Vitamin.com(cheaper). We can't have sodas or juices so these may give you a way to mix up flavors and you'll be getting you protein. Good luck.
  19. This is a picture I took of how I stayed on track with my fluids
  20. Yes, use the bathroom cups. The day I came home after the surgery, I got the Wal Mart white 3oz cups(cheaper). Measured out 2oz in the cup and poured 12 little 2oz cups of liquid protein. I love the Isopure(40g protein)per bottle. And I used Bariatric Advantange Meal Replacement(27g protein), low soduim Broths and water. I watched the clock all the time. Every 15 min I drank 1 of the little cups. This helped me stay on track. I never could drink water like I should have so this really helped me. I know it sounds crazy and a lot of work but it worked for me. I'm 5 weeks out now so I no longed use the cups but go back to this if I find myself not getting enought fluids. I now use a egg timer when I'm at home to help me remember to eat and drink. I really want this to work so I do what ever it takes to make me get it In me. Good luck.
