Yes, use the bathroom cups. The day I came home after the surgery, I got the Wal Mart white 3oz cups(cheaper). Measured out 2oz in the cup and poured 12 little 2oz cups of liquid protein. I love the Isopure(40g protein)per bottle. And I used Bariatric Advantange Meal Replacement(27g protein), low soduim Broths and water. I watched the clock all the time. Every 15 min I drank 1 of the little cups. This helped me stay on track. I never could drink water like I should have so this really helped me. I know it sounds crazy and a lot of work but it worked for me. I'm 5 weeks out now so I no longed use the cups but go back to this if I find myself not getting enought fluids. I now use a egg timer when I'm at home to help me remember to eat and drink. I really want this to work so I do what ever it takes to make me get it In me. Good luck.
  3. I ate half a strip of bacon today! I'm only 4weeks out from surgery come July 22. I feel so bad. I'm getting so discouraged. My surgery weight was 199 lbs. At 2 weeks out I was down to 175 lbs. Well the scale has stopped moving and I'm now 4 weeks out come july 22. I don't want to start eating The wrong things because I've stopped losing weight. Help!!!

    Scared to eat.

Try the Isopure drinks 40 cals per bottle. Very tasty. GNC sells them. Good luck.
  8. What happens if the levels go up to high. Is it because of the surgery? Hope you are better soon.

    two month follow up today

I enjoyed the info. I'm like you and expect/ WANT to see more weight loss in 2 months........BUT, I really think it will stay off if it comes off slower. Some of your info surprised me like the protein and fluids numbers thats good for him. All n all, you're doing great. Loss and not gain is alway good. Do you know how many calories you are getting? If you are eating less than 500cals still, your body may be holding on to the fat thinking you are starving it. One post I looked at today said they increased there cal intake just a little and dropped 5 pounds in 1 week. The body.....a strange thing. GOOD LUCK

Adding more calories, losing more weight

Awesome! I just learned to that your body will hold on to the fat if it thinks you are not going to feed it. I think, I know you did the right thing by upping you calories. I haven't been counting my calories yet just proteins. I think I will start.
  15. I'm speechless. Your loved one get mad if you DON't cook their meal. Now I was a little different. After my surgery I was alway cooking for my husband and 33 year old son. Not because I had to but because I felt empowered cooking and not eating, don't ask my why, I just did. But I only cook healthy foods. My husband loves his eggs, bacon and grits in small portions in the AM. Almost every morning. But he loves to cook. I got up to cook because I looked at it as a chance to move around. I hated walking at first. I think, I would sit down with your husband and really talk about the life style change you have made and need, and how you want him on board as well. Maybe look thu some recipes and see what you both can agree on. I would hate to see your family break up because of NOT COOKING. Life is to short. You did the RIGHT thing by having the surgery. I was 199lbs when I had my surgery. I now weigh 175. We want to be healthy and happy. And being overweight is NOT THE WAY. GOOD LUCK. Counseling is good.

    IM SLEEVED!

Yah! Push the pain pump button IF you need it. We will never judge. I'm 3 weeks out and lost 24lbs. After the 1st week I missed chewing and swallowing. But after the 2nd week I could have baby foods and that made me happy. Now this week it's Fork soft foods. I have no regrets. I just have to remember to sip ALL THE TIME and walk. You're on your way. Yah!!!!!

    painful pulling feeling

Hi Lyndyjo. Congrats on your surgery. I am 11 days out and have not had anything like that happening. But call your doctor and let them know. It's best to let them know ALL your concerns. Good luck.

I hate my pre op diet!

I hated my pre op diet to. I just didn't understand how doctors think we can just drink our meals and not eat. If I could do that I would not have gained the weight that I did. After the first 2days it got easier. Hang in there. It will be almost the same type of diet after the surgery...liquid.
