  1. Hey everyone! Things have been going well for me! Been losing weight and finding what works. Balancing school, life, family can be tricky but so far so good! My HW was 256, SW was 244 and now I'm 183! :) feeling very good! Just wondering, I'm sort of alarmed and going to call my GP tomorrow. Tonight after taking a bath I relaxed in my bedroom for a bit and when I went to go hang up my towel back in my ensuite (like a 10 foot walk) I got dizzy. The last thing I remember was trying to hang up my towel. I fainted and hubby heard the noise but thought it was the kids playing. I called him as soon as I came to and he said the time from the loud noise to me calling him was about 3 minutes. So I was out cold for quite a while. Sore head, sore hip and hand. Ouch. Any ideas?? Has this happened to anyone else? Hoping to get some blood work done tomorrow.

Don't take a hot bath/shower. If your blood pressure is already low this causes vasodilation and will drop it even lower :(

    Take care,

  2. My birthday is coming up and I've been scouring the internet for low calorie, non carbonated alcoholic drinks. So far, it appears there are several low cal vodkas available, I'm just having trouble finding mixers. I've read clamato is healthy and low cal but is just sounds disgusting. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears. And yes, my Dr. has said it's okay to have an adult beverage on special occasions as long as I track it into my daily calorie intake.

Vodka & Water, squirt in your favorite mio flavor.

  4. I stalled for 3weeks starting the end of my third week and through a lot of trial and error I found I cannot eat more than 50grams of carbs/day. So now the only carbs I eat are in my south beach meal bars which aren't bad. Otherwise it's all Protein with the occasional vegetable. Been doing that for 6 days and am already down 5 more pounds. I also won't allow my self to eat anything until I finish a whole bottle of Water, good to have an incentive ;)

  5. Gm all. As I've journeyed along, Ive read how many of u are tired and I cudn wrap my head around it, I mean not to the extent that u may have meant it. But wow, I feel ur pain, I got up today w intentions of a good shower n walk, started out drinkn Protein from the get go. Then this rush of debilitating exhaustion came ovr me. Yuck! I mean, I was panting from being tired. My 9 yr old asked if I was ok bc she said I was breathing hard. Wow, tired is an understatement:( took my bp, was 130/80 hr 103, geez. Neways, guess I'll lay here n c what happens for a bit. Follow up is Monday, Shuda been two weeks but I was in for a week n a day, so he said to come c him to make sure I'm ok. Well I pray that this day is a gr8 one for you all. Take care n hope to chat ltr. :))

Just be careful, you are at a higher risk for DVT and pulmonary embolisms due to your extended hospital stay. Shortness of breath and tachycardia are symptoms. I'm not trying to scare you, just want you to be mindful of that.

  6. Hi all,

Had my sleeve done on Monday the 2nd. Pain isn't too bad just the right side of my abdomen where they had the drain in still hurts. My biggest problem was postoperative nausea and vomiting. The fluids weren't going through my sleeve fast enough so I kept vomiting them back up. I had to stay an extra day in the hospital and they added a scopolamine patch and some raglan which helped a lot. Home now and much more comfortable. My advice to you is get that scopolamine patch in pre op just to be on the safe side.

  7. Toradol isn't a weak painkiller, it's just different and non narcotic. Different types of pains respond better to different meds. Toradol is anti inflammatory and works well for muscular pain, post surgical pain and is amazing for kidney stones. Toradol actually reduces inflammation in the body. Post knee surgery we normally use a neuropathic pain med like lyrica, non narcotics like tramadol, and then opioids (oxy, hydrocodone) for break through pain.
