  1. I’m 10 years out from having a gastric sleeve and I’m close to my pre-op weight. I am so frustrated and disappointed with myself. I guess I stretched my stomach out. Is there anyone out there with this problem ?

    My Journey...Insight?

OMG. I remember you. I talked to you a while back on here. I am so fed up with my band. I finally had all of my fluid removed because of the same issues. I am ready to convert to the gastric sleeve. I am hearing good things about it. Personally, I despise the lap band and regret it!

    removal-mini bypass

I am so happy for you. I want to know if there is a difference in the "fullness" feeling you have with RNY vs Lap-band. Do you have to take protein supplements? Please tell me the major differences btw lapband and rny. I am so scared at failing at this too!

    Cord kincked

I had to go back to the hospital. My doctor at the time was a jerk! He said it was because "I was so fat".... but, i know better. He never sent me a bill for that second surgery. Of course, I had the hospital part to pay, but my insurance paid for that. If you have insurance I would check into it and YES..... Ask LOTS of QUESTIONS! It is YOUR BODY! Good LUCK!

    removal-mini bypass

I am so glad to hear of your success. I just had all of my fluid removed from my band and will start trying to get insurance approval for a conversion to bypass after Jan 1 (when my insurance changes). The band has not been successful to me and am praying for success with the other. Does anyone know of anyone who has done better with bypass vs lap band.???

    Cord kincked

It sounds like surgery to me if it doesn't straighten itself out. 6 weeks out of my surgery, I had to go back because my port tubing was "kinked". Good luck.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

I am so sorry to hear this. At least your band hasn't slipped or your pouch hasn't stretched out. Just keep on trying. Maybe you haven't found that "sweet spot"' yet. I am still looking for it too! I had my surgery in 2005 and weigh the same exact as I did before surgery. It is very depressing. I agree with you about the willpower. I don't feel that I have any right now. I am at the point that I am either going to have my band removed or I am converting. But you HANG in there a bit more. You haven't been out as long as I have and gee whiz........the holidays are here! What a difficult time of the year!

    Want Band Removed, Too.....

Hey girl! I am feeling your pain. I thought I wanted to convert to gastric bypass, but, I am real scared of that. However, I do want this "band" out of me. I feel like it is my enemy. I am sick and tired of this. I refuse to go to the doctor who originally banded me bc he is such a jerk. I don't know what to do. I am considering going to a general surgeon and seeing if he will take it out for me. I have not been successful on this band journey, but CONGRATS to those who have and Good Luck to those who are starting their journey.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

yea, I was just reading a little bit about head hunger. That could very well be my problem. At the moment though, I am just wondering why I got a band, b/c I am still having to battle as much as I did before the band. Please forgive my negative attitude. These are just my true feelings.

    Slow Losers - Unite!

I am so discouraged again. I am back too eating too much. I don't feel full and sometimes my cravings are unbelievable. I need to find that will power again. I feel like I go up and down! I am beginning to wonder again, if I should of even gotten this band. I thought I was at my sweet spot about 3 1/2 weeks ago and WHAM! I am right back where I was before my fill. I am seriously considering converting to RNY.

    I'm home

Girl, keep us posted on your journey! I am really considering conversion to RNY. How is your appetite? Can you tell a big difference from the band versus this procedure? Are you losing weight? Continually praying for you!
