  1. I'm not hungry at all. I'm so ready for tomorrow to come, I hope all have a good go & speedy recovery onto the next chapter of our lives.

Soon enough it'll be tomorrow my check in time is 6:30 mountain standard time. Have to be up at 5 & out of the house by 5:30.

Good Luck, chat with you all later. :)

Surgery tomorrow! Should be done in a room by noon :)

Good luck tomorrow, hope you come out of the operating room pain free and dancing, lol.

  2. My psych told me that even after being sleeved I can still gain back everything I lose. She said its my behavior habits and eating the wrong foods that will not make me successful after the surgery. We need to change our lifestyles beginning with our minds. Nothing like putting your body through all this pain and stress thinking the sleeve works on its own and then gain the weight back. The sleeve will help you in the beginning and it will restrict the portions you eat however in time as you learn what foods can stay down ..that's when the bad behaviors kick in and your back to point zero again. My Dr said a girl ate mashed potatoes and gravy and after 7 weeks she gained 15 pounds again..that's where the idea of "quick fix" comes Along and people misjudge us. Its a challenge and hardwork and is not an easy fix..just a tool to help us. Best of luck to all of us..

Gaining the weight back after surgery is my biggest fear, and why I'm working on changing my thoughts. I've tried changing my lifestyle but if the right mind frame isn't there, it won't last in the long run

  3. I am Sept 23 as well! Had my last pre op appt today. When the nurse weighed me she said "this is the last time you will weigh this much". Wow' date=' I can hardly imagine.

I start 2 week liquids on Monday - I get 3 oz of Lean Protein twice in the two weeks and all the non starchy veg I want. I am going to make a pot of WW 0 point veg Soup and eat that in addition to my Protein Shakes. It tastes really good and is filling.[/quote']

My diet starts on the 18th. But I'm thinking of maybe starting on the 16th. I can have one Protein Shake a day if it gets really bad. I've never heard of the WW 0 point soup. I'll google it :) I need recipes!

  4. For years my mom has been begging me to get the bypass done. I would just tell her "whatever". Last year I caved and told her I would look into it, but with the constant pressure and asking me everyday "are you going to do it, did you find a doctor, yadda, yadda, yadda" I told her to forget it and that I would try on my own.

I tried, I really did. I tried eating well and going to the gym. Both at the same time seemed hard, so I decided let me eat well first and THEN go to the gym when I lose some weight. I would have 1 bad day or 2 of eating and then I'd give up and say "maybe I should do to the gym first and when I lose some weight, I'll start eating healthier", but then I would go to the gym 1-2 days and spend 4-5 days in pain, barely able to walk.

New Years Eve I mad emy resolution: this year, I will put myself first and really be honest with myself and do the best for me. I researched wls and it seemed SO extreme: rework your intestines and take pills the rest of your life PLUS feel sick if I eat any sugar, Put a plastic band in my body that I have to go to the hospital to get refilled or emptied the rest of my life (this just SOUNDS sick to me), or hack off half your stomach and not have as many side effects as the other two choices.

I did a LOT of reseach, watched a LOT of youtube videos and in March decided the sleeve was for me.

Now my final weigh-in that my insurance requires will happen tomorrow. I feel so empowered already because I'm DOING something about my weightloss. I finally feel in control.

  5. So far so good. I feel like I am saying goodbye to things I like and getting ready for a new life. It's scary, depressing, exciting, confusing... Sometimes I have 2nd thoughts and sometimes I'm can't wait till its done.

1 more month and its over.

That's how I'm feeling. Everytime anything negative pops in my head, I force myself to stop thinking about it. I'm just happy I have a really supportiv family that actually wanted me to do the surgery way before I even thought about it.

  6. My surgeon does not require a two week pre-op diet unless you are above a certain BMI. I only have to do clear liquids the day before the surgery. So I am planning on taking off of work the Sept 23 and not return until after surgery approx 2-3 weeks.

i'm hoping i can have surgery on Sept. 17th or 24th. We have a few holidays that week and I'll be off with pay. I hope my recovery is quick

  7. We are in the same boat! Did my psych eval Monday. Do my final weigh-in on Tuesday. I will have met all my surgical requirements. I am also starting my two week pre-op diet on the 3rd so I can have surgery as soon as everything is approved.

Awesome! Did your doctor suggest you start your pre-op diet on the 3rd? How long as you supposed to be on it?

  8. Valkyrea, I finished my six month diet on August 5, the next week paperwork was submitted to insurance company and I heard back by Friday of the same week that I was approved. I scheduled for Oct because of my job, then rescheduled for Sept 24. I am so excited. Good luck to you.

That's great!!! Congratulations! This month will fly by for you. Have you started to prep for surgery and the pot-op diet yet?

I'm hoping I can get the surgery mid-end of September, I'll be off for a few days from work and it would be the BEST time to take off.

  9. Great list. My wife was sleeved in April. Now down 94 lbs. she has taken up wearing high heels. ONG. So sexy. Im loving it.

Im adding not to sweat so much and decrease joint pain to my list also. Thank you

Congratulations to your wife! And to you too on enjoying the sight of the heels and going through the process. My husband is going to see how I do post op and might consider the sleeve
