  3. My sleep has been all over the map! I always have trouble after surgery. I don't know why but it usually takes me a month or two to starighten out after my bidy goes through a trauma.
  4. What an absolute idiot! Call the hospital where you had your surgery and see if there are any other surgeons that do bariatrics there. Maybw there is someone who can follow up with you there. If not, look for other bariatric centers close to you.Did you have a nutrionist ? Were you going to a weight management center or just to the surgeon?

    Excitement and worrie

Are you going through a weight management center? Have you seen a nutritionist yet? They can give you loads of ideas. I stopped drinking pop altogether, I stopped eating all fast food, and all fried food. I cut way back on desserts, like maybe once every 3 days instead of every day. I replaced my high sugar desserts with no sugar added fudge bars which i do not feel like i have to ration even now that I am post op as they are only 40 calories and actually have some protein too!
  8. I am at three weeks now. Stalled since week one. I was not hitting my water and protein marks. When I spoke with the urse yesterday she said it canbe any number of things. This really is a drstic thing we have done to our bodies and sometimes it takes our body a while to catch up. She said our body sometimes goes into a starvation mode and clings to everything we do consume and oes not let go of anything at all hence no loss. She told me eventually my body will get the message that it is getting food regularly and I will start to lose. You will too. I guess we just to hang in there.
  9. Back in July when I started this weight loss journey I was 282 pounds and wearing size 22/24 pants. They were really too small but I was shoving myself in anyway. Now the 22's are so big they are ridiculous, they literally fall off! I went to the thrift shop to buy some in between pants. I thought the 20's would be good. Nope, huge! I bought two pairs of size 18 and drumroll please, size 16 ! I could not believe it ! Now if that was not good enough,I wore a pair of the 18's yesterday and guess what? They are too big without a belt. how crazy is that! Oh, I have lost 7 inches off my waist since the beginning. The last time I was weighed I was at 231 pounds so fifty pounds down not bad !
  10. I slept on my side in the hospital. I can't quite sleep on my stomach yet though and I am a tummy sleeper. I am three weeks out.
  11. That is awful! I am sorry you even had to hear that crap. Take care and only listen to the people that actually care about you!

    Three Weeks Post Op

Great job! I have been stuck since the end of the first week! The nurse said she thinks it is because I am not hitting my protein and water totals everyday.
  13. I was supposed to wait til my two week appointment but i just kept my incisions above the water. I felt so much better after having a bath. I know I am such a rebel!

    Post-Op Tray Picture

I had two one ounce containers of diluted apple juice, 4 medicine cup size containers of sugar free jello , hot tea with splenda, and broth. I did not eat or drink much of it at all. It was all pretty tasteless and gross.

    Importance Of Protien During Pre-Op

I'll be honest I hated the pre op diet. I whined and complained the whole time. But I did lose thirteen pounds in fourteen days and my surgery went very well with no complitcations. So I am glad I hung in there. So get in your protein it helps you do what needs to be done. Hang in there!

    Super Down Today !

Did you get some antibiotics? Everything will probably be okay, I had a terrible cold and ear infection while in my pre op diet I thought for sure I would be post poned but I was not. Everyting turned out okay. Just take your meds and hang in there.

    Anybody Else Cheating?

I ate some crackers and bean/pea type Soups a few days earlier than I was supposed to but I made sure to be up front with the nurse and doctor about it. I was very hungry. I was very careful to let the cracker dissolve in my mouth and that nothing solid actually went downmy throat.
  22. I lost 10 pounds the first week post op. This week though I am up 3 pounds!!! I don't understand? I was really dehydrated the first week could that be the reason?
