  1. I can't lie the whole box is still in my room. I just couldn't do it. I just made sure I got up walked hourly to prevent blood clots. Just call me chicken.

I walk as well but my surgeon suggested this. I'm so grown up. Needles are like kryptonite but I have evolved. So proud of me...

Good luck all sleevers. Aug. 19th is my new birthdate.

  2. No' date=' I don't have to take additional shots. Were you on a blood thinner before procedure?[/quote']

No. They said its to prevent blood clots after a serious surgery like this. I walk so that would alleviate the issue. What I've found after doing it 3x by myself (Big Grin) the needle, it melts into my stomach. I was afraid of nothing really.

I am also on Gallstone preventive meds & Prilosec...along with multi Vitamins, calcium citrate, b-12, B complex, hair, nails, skin formula all in liquid form. I have Vit C, chlorophyll and aloe Vera.

I'm only 4-days post op and feel so much better.

  3. I also received the shots in the stomach while in the hospital. It's a pretty common practice' date=' helps to prevent blood clots. I was sleeved on July 29th. I've had very little if any major issues other than the typical - drinking Water, intake of 70-80 grams of protein.[/quote']

I have to do the 2x a day shots for 30 days. You don't?

  4. Hey people, I am 3-days post-op! 8/19 and feeling good. I am getting my fluids in taking anti gall stone pills and prilosec along with all liquid vitamins from C, B-Complex, B-12, multi, hair nails skin, Calcium caltrate among other things.

What's puzzling to me is I havent read anyone else discussing giving shots 2x to the abdomen after surgery. They are blood thinners but I was terrified but I did it. So happy.

  5. I was told I could drink anything that can be sucked up through a straw. But not allowed to actually use a straw. So' date=' have been having some gorgeous Soups ( some which contain meat). Just blitz them in the food processor and off I go. :-)[/quote']

I have been put on a low sugar high Protein diet. I check in next Wednesday so maybe it'll be different. I dislike sugar free stuff...I just received my bottles of Genesis Liquid Protein 15g per 1oz...that's good enough for now.

  6. Hey everyone' date=' I am glad to hear everyone is doing good. 8/19 was a great day for me. So now 3 days post op, drinking my 8oz shakes (3 a day) and my 6 8oz glasses of Water a day. So far no issues, no nausea, no vomiting. The first 24 hours was pretty tough but after that it has been a breeze. Lot's of gas, but doing a lot of walking is helping that. Even went to the store with my wife this morning and walked around holding onto my own cart while she shopped. Felt good but definitely tires you out. I hope everyone else from 8/19 is feeling as great as I am. I have even already been taken off of my metphormin diabetes meds. I just have to monitor my sugar 3 times a day to make sure my levels stay good. Stay strong everyone, get your liquids down and walk...even if just down the driveway and back a few times...walk often.[/quote']

I am doing much better. It's gloomy weather in NYC so I am staying in doors. I wish you continued success. August 19th was here and now it's a distant memory. I did we'll during pre-surgery, staff was phenomenal, but the 2x a day self injections scared me. I am doing them with help but I know I can survive this.

  7. I had my sleeve surgery 5 days ago. So far so good. Been having 30 ml of Clear liquids every 20 min and 1 L of Water everyday. Only fresh fruit and veg juices made at home so far. No vomiting or discomfort what so ever <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

You can do juices? Wow...I am on a low carb, high Protein liquid diet post-op 3days. What recipes are you doing?

  8. Hi ladies! Got my sleeve yesterday! Doing pretty good. Minimal pain. Just tightness. And' date=' some pain if I drink too fast. Trying to remember to sip, sip, sip! Hoping to go home today! :-)

Hope everyone else is doing well![/quote']

Congrats Jules. I was sleeved 8/19 and home relaxing. Enjoy your new self...

  9. Well' date=' it's official. I'm sleeved. I just passed my swallow test and have moved up to Clear liquids. It sure is hard to sleep in the hospital. Hope I get to go home today.

Praying for all my August sleeve buddies. Wishing you all smooth recoveries.

To my August 19th buddies, hope all went well. One day at a time for recover.[/quote']

I do not remember a swallow test. When do they do that? My SIL said I had everyone cracking up as I came out of recovery...anyway I must have passed or I wouldn't be home. Keep hydrated.

  10. Good Morning and Hello to all' date=' Congrats to all my fellow sleevers and sleevers to be , I just got sleeved yesterday August 19th, surgery was a success and I am feeling much better than yesterday. So excited about this new journey : )[/quote']

We are sleeve sisters for sure. I couldn't get to my phone or iPad until yesterday. I was weak and just wanted to get home. Now I am home and can't believe I did this. Stay hydrated please.

  11. Sleeved 8/19 no shoulder/gas pain. No major issues except I wanna sleep on my side. I did have a slight fever 8/20 & headache. Blood pressure acted up too.

Right now it's all about staying hydrated. Gettin my 4oz in. Protein shakes are tolerable...lol I am overall happy.

Does anyone else have to give themselves a shot 2x a day of a blood thinner? I prolly would have reconsidered on that tidbit alone. Terrified of needles BUT I PUT ON MY BIG GIRL PANTIES, INHALED, AND PRICKED MYSELF LIKE A PRO.

    SO GLAD TO BE HOME.
