What is pre-testing? I go in tomorrow. My surgery is Monday.

I am also 8/19! How are you doing on the pre-op? I'm at work and forgot my sf jello. All I have is clear liquids. I just started...ughhhhhh

My veins are very tricky...they get shy around strangers. I pray they behave next Monday...I hate getting poked so many times. The EGD, 3x they tried to get mine started...

I am uncertain of my date. My sleep study was 8/9/13 & the tech said because I stopped breathing ONCE the surgery is gonna be postponed. I am so nervous because I don't believe I have apnea. I just snore loudly. She claims I stopped breathing just before she woke me up...anyway I was pushing this date as I have two weeks vacation...didn't want to use sick days to recover. Pray for me please!????

I work 3rd shift 12am-8am for the past 17yrs...my weight has gone from 155lbs when I started in '91 to 285lbs now...I work for the MTA of NYC...I love working nights though...

I had the biggest bed ever...it was kind of cold in there and the pillows should be firmer. She said the data won't be ready for two weeks. My surgery is in 1 week. Um, I pray my surgeon has clout and get the results. It is to determine my oxygen saturation level for the anathesia...am I right??

I like the idea of added spinach to my protein smoothie.

Just received August 19th as my date. So I have to start the pre-op like right now. I only have less than 10 days. I see the doc on the 14th for paper work and I am excited.

So I was just given a date to see my surgeon on 8/14 to fill out consent forms and papers...my date is a go. 8/19! I had my OBGYn submit my BP readings from yesterday...and all my other exams took my readings which was never 140/100! They basically read I have BP but not that high of a gauge. I'm sure she averaged it out rom the pulmonary specialist, cardiologist, blood work, EDG, and now my OBGYN...I may suffer from "white coat syndrome" and I really value my PCP but I don't know why with him it's so different than everyone else's! Just thankful I am having surgery on the 19th.

I have my psych clearance Blood work Pulmonary is 7/10 Cardiologist 7/22 Gastro 7/31 Waiting on sleep study & PCP's 5yr report on my weight history & medications. I'm 5'6 285 I've gained since I started last Wednesday...nerves or Tom... Thanks everyone for your support. I have two weeks vacay 8/18-8/31 & would love to have it scheduled for then. My coverage doesn't require 6 months supervised nutritional counseling. So thankful for empire BCBS! What a wonderful life...

I just got called in for my pre-op meeting with the surgeon to fill out the paperwork...the 8/19 date is a gooooooooooo!!!! I am so happy. Never have I've ever been excited about pain before...oh wait never mind...lolololol good day all!

My sleep study is tonight. I snore. I've only awakened at times because I ate too much and almost choked. I was so stuffed. I shouldn't have said that. It only happened twice in my life. And it was always after a huge binge.

I was given 8/19 as my date but my PCP submitted his approval letter with my blood pressure reading at 140/100 and now the surgeon doesn't want to do the surgery if it stays so elevated. He gave me a different more stronger Water pill and boy is it working and a higher dose of metoprolol 100mg 2x a day. He stated that this wbls would help me in lowering my pressure. But you wanna know so,ething, I truly believe that my I.U.D. May be causing my readings. I passed all clinical trials. Pulmonary, cardiology, blood work, etc. so I am going to get it taken out. I've had it over 10yrs and no sex for approx 8 of those 10! Lol so that's my hunch. Wish me luck. I go to the GYN at 9am. I want it out. Other than being 285# I don't know why my pressure is so high. I have low salt tolerance too.

I just received a tentative date of 8/19! My EGD revealed some redness but I just finished up my dose of antibiotics for H. Pylori. I pray that it comes back negative.

Let us know how yours went when you are up to it. I am still in the pre-op testing phase. My EDG is Tuesday 8/6. My sleep study is 8/9! I would love to begin my 2wk pre-op diet on 8/12 so I can get it done by the end of the month. My 2wk vacation is my window of opportunity.

I have just received my endoscopy appt. 8/6 sleep study 8/9! Two week vacation 8/16-8/31! I pray I can get it done during that time. Good luck to all the Aug. newsleevers!
