Ron,

Do you think I'll be well enough to go to the meeting 2 days after having the surgery? I have a feeling I'll be laid up in bed that day and trying my best to walk around the house as exercise.

I'm having my LapBand surgery on Monday and I missed the educational seminar that was held last week Tuesday at Syosset Hospital. Has anyone ever gone to that seminar and if so, csn you fill me in on what I missed? I called Dr. Geiss' office and one of the receptionists said that I didn;t miss much and that they only spoke about what to expect....but I want to know more of what to expect. Post your input if your have any...Thanks

Although I have not been banded yet, It is my understanding that your tolerance for alcohol will be a lot lower than it was before the surgery.

No I went to a meeting a few months ago. I think it was either in April or May. Dr. Geiss spoke a little bit but most of the lecture was done by a man who had lost over 100 lbs.

Use Adult liquid tylenol to decrease the pain. I haven't been banded yet but it should go right thru without getting stuck since its in liquid form.

Is Dr. Geiss' meeting across the Street from Syosset Hospital?

Hi Everyone.
I'm just joining today as a proud new member of the Lucky 7s Crew! My surgery date is for July 30th and I'm excited and scared. I started this process over 2 years ago and stopped because my family and friends talked me out of it. I lost 40 lbs in the interim and gained back most of it so now, I'm back and ready for action despite the fears I have re: surgery (invetable pain, possible death, possibly not being able to stick to the liquid diet, etc.). Now that I'm going forward with this I'm looking forward to positive lifestyle changes but I do realize that its going to be a lot of hard work. For now, I plan on watching what I eat and I have to look into getting the foods I need for the pre-op diet and items necessary for post-op.
Again, I just stopped by to let you know that I'm here!:whoo:
Any Long Islanders?
