Hi Salsa, I was told by my doctor that when you get unfilled, you will regain the weight that you lost but it won't come back over night (remember, we didn't get fat overnight.) You may still be used to eating only 1000 calories because the shape of stomach has not gone back to the original shape it was before banding. The banded area will loosen up but you still have the band in place so there may till be a little bit of restriction. Let's hope that your weight stablizes and doesn't go up. I hope that you can get a fill soon so that you won't gain too much back.

Hi Indio I'm ok. I exercised twice over the weekend and went for a short walk today. Today was the 1st time I slimed. I was eating a chunk of chicken breast and a bite of a sandwich after work and I didn't really chew well before I swallowed (this is not like me but I guess since nothing ever really gets stuck when I eat, I felt a little "cocky"). I felt the food get stuck as my nose began to tingle like I was about to sneeze. I ran to get a tissue to blow my nose and while blowing, I began salivating a WHOLE lot, my eyes watered and I started having a sharp but bearable pain in my back. I had a slight "about to vomit" feeling but I hate throwing up so I kept swallowing and swallowing in order to try to keep the food down. After about 30 seconds the feeling passed. I've had a not too sharp pain in the middle of my back since this happened. This was a good reminder to pay attention and chew, chew, chew.

Wow! There's been a lot of activity on here since I last posted. I see that everyone is doing well with their weight loss. I'm scared to join the weight loss chaallenge because my mind isn't right just yet. I still have that "suppose I don't make it" mentality but I know that isn't the way I should be thinkning. I'm staying positive and I'm joining so count me in. 10 lbs by Thanksgiving!!!!

I'm back in excersize mode. I haven't done any walking 1.5 weeks and my body already felt the difference. Walking record 30 minutes around the neighborhood near my job. I don't think I was walking as fast as I used to but man did I work up a sweat.

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted in what seems like ages. I have been reading upon other posts though. I went to the doctor for my second fill yesterday. I saw the PA instead of my last fill doctor. She was more than happy to give me .5cc in my band which brings me to a total of 1.5cc. I was up and down over the past month and according to the scale I regularly use, I'm down 4lbs over a month's time. On the doctor's scale I'm only down 1 lb but I'm not complaining. The fill before this 1 didn't make a big difference in the amount of food I'm able to eat and I'm hoping that this fill will do the trick. The PA explained once again that I may not feel the effects of the fill until 2 weeks from now but this time, If I don't feel a major difference, then I'm insisting on getting another fill in 2 weeks. My level of excercise has greatly decreased over the past month but I'm determined to get back in the swing of things.

Hi Linda I think the easy way to make a spiced pumpkin shake is to take a vanilla flavored carnation instand breakfast drink and mix it with 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (the one is pumpkin only without the added sugar and spices) and mix in a little pumpkin pie spice and splenda or stevia.

Hi Everyone! I ate very poorly this weekend. I was on a college tour with a bunch of high school kids for the last 3 days and all we ate was cafeteria food and snacks. My only saving grace was that we walked and walked and walked across 7 college campuses so I'm hoping that all the walking helped to balance out all of the bad food. My legs hurt but I'm forcing myself to get dressed and do my 30 minute walk today. Indio Fuze is a drink that that claims to promote weightloss. It tastes good. Linda I've sworn of soda. I tried it a loooong time ago only about 2 weeks after surgery and I hated the feeling of it so I know I"m done with that.

Hi everyone! Ruby and Chim....thanks for the everlasting encouragement. I do appreciate it. I'm gonna skip to my walking record early just to let u know that ur kind words are working. Walking record 30 to 40 minutes everyday for the last few days. Yesterday I found a park about a 5 minute drive from my house that is beautiful. It has an excercise trail with a pond, bridge, ducks, etc. During that 40 minute walk I covered 1.5 miles. YEAH BABY!!! The other 2 days of walking took me around my neighborhood. In terms of eating and drinking..... I'm still feeling restriction in the morning but thats really it. For the rest of the time, I'm using mostly my own will power to keep me from going overboard. I AM able to stay full longer than before the band, but I'm eating 1 to 1.5 cup meals of mostly meat to keep myself from feeling hungry. I have an appointment scheduled for the week for the 15th to see my doctor so I'm going to wait it out and see what happens. Now listen ya'll.....Please don't become a bad influence on me. I've avoided the soda temptation time and time again and I will not allow you guys to suck me back into the soda drinking realm. Ya'll are the same folks who told me back when I was testing my band to be careful because I don't want to end up ripping out the stitches that are holding my band in place or stretching out my pouch. I listened to you when u advised me so now, c'mon. Pour the soda down the sink or use it to strip the paint off your ex-boyfriend's new car. Just don't drink it. Enjoy ur weekend everyone!! PS Here's a good drink ya'll can try. Its called Fuze. It tastes pretty good and is supposed to be good for weightloss.

Hi Everyone! I haven't been posting in a few days I guess because I had my period and wasn't in the mood. I hope everyone is doing well. Walking record No walking during the last few days due to my period but today I got back in the saddle. I did a 30 minute walk around the neighborhood and then got my nails done and went food shopping.

I think I might be feeling a little restriction now. I noticed that I'm not thinking so much about food after my lunch and I'm able to make it to dinner on a smaller snack. I'm still able to fit in 1 1/2 cups of food but at least I don't want more after that. I'm thinking of it as a step in the right direction. My doctor said I should feel the effects of the fill after 2 weeks and those 2 weeks will be up this coming Friday. Jackie My port site is a little achy too and has been for the last 2 days. I just started my period today so maybe it's related to that. Chim Good luck on your fill tomorrow. I hope all goes well. Indio Thanks for all the support!! You are wonderful. Only4Me How are u feeling band sistah? I hope everything is going smoothly with you and your family. Walking record 35 minutes around the neighborhood today. I'm still moving!

Peaches and others.... Thanks for the info. My food choices are horrible at times but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. I can't wait to get to my sweet spot though. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get another fill when I go to my next Dr's appointment. The only time I feel the effects of the fill I had is in the morning and thats not enough. Walking record 45 minutes around my neighborhood. The sky is beautiful today.

My eating yesterday wasn't good at all. I went out with friends, had drinks and ate chicken wing after chicken wing. I also had a chocolate sundae. It was small but full of calories, sugar and fat. I know that it certainly wasn't as bad as it would have been pre-band but I was grazing all nite. To make matters worse, I didn't walk at all yesterday. Today was better. I had 2 chicken wings for breakfast and I didn't eat until 5 hours later. This morning that protein and little bit of restriction went a long way. I had 1/2 a stuffed pepper and about an ounce of pork at 5:30 and now its 3 1/2 hours later and I could eat again. I'm drinking water to help stave (sp?) off the hunger. Walking record I walked for 30 minutes in front of the TV today as I watched Ugly Betty. The time went by quicker than expected. I'm feeling my exercise mojo wearing off but I know I must stay the course!

Jackie If the band is tighter in the morning why does it loosen up later in the day? The amount of saline in the band hasn't changed over the course of the day so I don't get why the feeling is different later on. I'm asking because my doctor hasn't talked to me about this.

Hi guys! I think I feel restriction and then I lose it 1/2 way thru the day. Does that sound weird to anyone? Just wondering.

Hi Everyone! Janie The band is made of silicon so airport security won't detect it. IndioGirl Good luck with ur workout and weight loss. With all support u give I know ur gonna do very well. In 5 years, we won't have to worry about a remote control band because we'll all be fit and/or skinny waaaaaay before then!!! Last night I ate too much at dinner time. I had leftovers from boston market that I think should had lasted me for at least 1 1/2 meals and I ate it all in 1 sitting. Granted, it took me about 30 to 40 minutes to eat it (too long for bandster time). I was so hungry when I came home from work that I just kept eating even when I I know I should have stopped. I still need to stop my impulse to eat. I think part of my problem was that fact that I skipped my afternoon snack because I forgot about it. Walking Record I did 30 minutes of walking in the neighborhood around my job.

Waking record No walking today. I wore cute shoes to work and when I got home my hooves were on fire so I didn't feel like walking. I'm getting back on tomorrow.

Walking record I walked around the outside of my job for 30 minutes then when I got home I did another 30 minutes around my neighborhood. I don't want to stretch out my pouch. I just looked at my doctor's orders from post surgery and it said I should be having 6 1/2 cup meals per day. Damn!! I've been doubling the amount and eating less meals for the most part (like today I'll probably have 4 meals total. The weight loss is working so far but I don't want to mess this thing up in the long run. I have to now talk myself into having smaller meals. The struggle ain't over ya'll!

Jamie My band holds 4ccs. There are many people here who have a 10cc band. I have a feeling that urs is 10ccs because the Dr. put o much saline in it for the 1st fill.

My food log for today Breakfast- 1 weight watchers yogurt with protein powder mixed in and 1/2 a banana Lunch- 1 chef boy ardee lunch pack beefaroni (its 7.5 oz) snack- 2oz chicken breast and 1 oz cheese snack-1 breakfast bar dinner- 1/2 a cobb salad from Pizzaria Uno's (It was huge) I guess most of us are eating about 1 to 1.5 cups of food per meal. Does this sound correct? I was worried that I was eating too much at each meal. Kathy Congrats on the adoption!! Usually when people talk about going to court its bad news but ur story was the total opposite. Might I add that u look great!!! Keep it going girl!

Lindaa Congrats on your NSV!! Didn't u just love sliding right into the booth? Awww....sweet victory!!, lol Walking record 1 hour of walking around a middle school track near my job with my linesister. The hour went by quickly because we were talking for most of the time. I fear that we weren't walking as fast as we should because I felt too comfy talking. Tomorrow I'm on my own with the exercise.
