  1. I'm 5 days post Op' date=' I can barely get anything down, I have all these premier Protein drinks I cant drink, I have gas pain and can't fart and My husband keeps eating the things I like In front of me.

I just want a small bowl of Lucky Charms mannnnnn. This is Hell, it's a absolutely terrible experience and I wish I never got this stupid sleeve.[/quote']

I'm only 4days post-op...comparing what I've been through the pre-op. Post is alot better. Let me give you an overview: 1)my 14 day liquid fast was extended to 17 b/c i was still waiting on insurance approval. 2)My family decides going to the state fair my husband ate a pork chop sandwich, my son a mega corndog. As for me...one pickle. 3) The next day was at a parade and homecoming football game... i had to be careful with the diet shakes...the next bathroom was 3 blocks away

I'm still blessed and wasn't draw to temptation. Please hang in there we will be happy in long run.

I sometimes look at the number of pills my husband comsume compared to me and Vitamins ....i love what I'm doing....take care..

  2. Tomorrow starts day three of my 14 day pre-op diet.

I will admit' date=' I was rather nervous about it. My main concern was not having enough energy to get through my rather physical work day.

I'm here to say... It's really not that hard.

Everyone's pre op diet seems to be slightly different.

Mine is 11 days of 900 cals (3 Protein shakes+ 1/2 cup lean chicken, fish or 1 egg/ 3 cups lettuce and a few sprays of fat free dressing)

Days 12-14 are strictly clear liquid.

I thought it would be nice to start a thread where ppl can post some good survival techniques to help those who are going to be doing their pre op diets and are nervous. Things that have helped you get through easier. Here's my list... Pls feel free to add your ideas as well. Lord knows I will probably need some of them as the days go on! ;-)

    1. I pre pack exactly what I need to consume throughout that day (including 90 oz water) in my ice chest. If it's not in my ice chest, it does not go in my mouth! (Aside from the Vitamins which I need to discontinue taking 7 days before surgery)

    2. When driving down the road...only look straight ahead...turning your head side to side means you'll be bombarded with all the evil food signs. And I personally think they posted a few extra food ads and restraunts since I started this diet two days ago! They are EVERYWHERE!

    3. If your favorite TV channel is the Food Network, like mine... Find a new favorite! I'm watching "Lock Up Raw" tonight... The food they feature on this program is certainly not making me hungry!

4.once you've finished all the food/drink you can have for the day, if you're still hungry... Add crystal light or Dasani drops or something with flavor that you like to Water bottle and fill up on that!

    5. Stay busy! I've been working my a** off to make as much money as possible before I go down for post op recovery. The side benefit is that the day is over before I know it! I plan on staying super active Til they wheel me to O.R.

Well that's all I have so far, might think of some more tips and hopefully others will too.

2 down, 12 days to go!

    We got this ;-)

    Best wishes everyone...[/quote']

Check this out! I'm beyond 14 days pre-op liquids. My surgery was scheduled for 10-28-13. My ins was still pending..just got approved. Surgery date is 10-30-13...today is day 16 liquids...but i feel good...really good....i survived state fair, football games & church functions food....didn't think i could do it...but i did....happy happy happy!

  3. I know I had those thoughts. But I am so glad that I had the surgery. My surgery was May 15 and I am over 80 lbs down. From a size 20-22 down to 10. And it is still melting off. Praying for your peace' date=' safe surgery, quick recovery and big weight loss!!!

    Blessings ~ Melody (BlessedFun2)[/quote']

Thank u Ms Melody...i needed the positive feedback...bless u and ur family

  4. Hey all. The pain was more than I expected!!! I've been urinating every 2 hours and thankfully I didn't have a lot of gas pain. I have however had my fair share of nausea and my face is hot but I have a normal temperature.

I've walked the hallways six times. Passed the swallow study and just had my first meal: 1/2 Popscicle' date=' 2 cubes of Jello, 5 spoons of broth and 3 oz of Water over the past 2.5 - 3hours.

I'm being discharged at 6 pm.

    I hope everyone's experience continues to improve.[/quote']

Congratulations on ur losing journey. U will have a speedy recovery...my journey starts 10-28-13...do u remember how long was ur surgery?

  7. Hello everyone' date='

My name is Sabrina and I am from upstate New York. I am married and have two wonderful shih tzu dogs that my world just revolves around! =)

I have been browsing this site for a few month now, decided to join in on the fun. I just love how people are so supportive of each other on here. I will be 31 years old next month and have been struggling with my weight for as long as I can remember. I am very much looking forward to my first surgeon visit on October 31st! The information seminar I attended in September was really the moment I decided this path was right for me. So needless to say I am at the very beginning of my journey! Looking forward to what the future holds!! [/quote']

Thanks for joining! You will find tons of information...browse around and enjoy...

  8. My insurance required a six month supervised diet as well. My doc only required a 2 week pre-op diet and a 2 day liquid diet. I can't imagine doing a two week liquid diet. It was hard doing 2 days.

My Dr. requires me to do a 14 day liquid diet. This will be hard on me because state fair is coming to town and my son and I love college football games. No turkey leg. No funnel cake. No corn dogs. No popcorn. Whew! This will be the most greatest challenge I've ever experienced. I'm prepared for this game because I want to lose!!!!!

  9. I do agree with you. .I found this site last night and almost screamed lol. .. glad there is something here for us. .. not that it's a must but nice to see. .. I've been investigating this survey for 1 year and finally decided to go with it. .. now im patiently awaiting the insurance approval but it's driving me crazy! !

We r going to claim it....u r approve ...God will provide

  10. I've finally gone through all my clearances and I get my date September 18th. From what they said they expect it to be the week of October 18th. I'm soooooo anxious at this point. I started at 250' date=' and am now 237. Any October buddies out there? :-)

    [/quote']

Me me me October sleeve. Can't wait to lose this weight, honey please. Been working out and eating right gettig this pre op done is not a fight. Waiting for my insurance to ok. Prayfully a year from now will be a "losing" day....

I'm not a rapper. I'm just having fun. Lord knows I'll glad when this surgery is done(whew).!

  11. Anyone feel like they've been eating uncontrollably since deciding to get the surgery' date=' almost like i'll never be able to eat like this again so I should enjoy it now.

Still going through it? Snapped out of it? Please share your experience/tips on getting out of this mindset[/quote']

I actually stop at popeyes about two weeks ago. I did not feel guilty because I ate small portions and ate one bite of biscuit ...the rest went straight to the trash. I was so happy on my small portions. I decided to go walking and i love walking so much. I have not thought about any funeral food.
