  1. Im an RN in Michigan. med/surg but just accepted a tele job!
  2. Ummm..what's that mean :/?
  3. What does a Gall bladder attack feel like? For the last 2 days I've been having sharp cramping pain constantly in my right upper back, side and now wrapping around to the front. It's bearable pain if I'm resting though. I think it's my gallbladder and want to ask my surgeon if he can take that along with my stomach
  4. I'm in Grand Blanc. Being sleeved by Dr. Fahran at Hurley. I've completed all my requirements just waiting on a date
  5. Was it resolved with an air enema? I'm sorry that you're dealing with this!
  6. I think if it was safely done outpatient, then that is what would be routine. I certainly wouldn't be comfortable knowing what I know (I work on a surgical floor.) docs love outpatient surgery, but the sleeve isn't typically one of them. I would make sure you do A LOT of research if you find a doc who agrees to this.
  7. Ty for the reply. I'm 5'9 and 270. Although I just had a baby 3 months ago and out on a lot. My regular weight is 240.
  8. Today I feel like maybe I should leave well enough alone. I have only ever been hospitalized for my 3 totally perfect pregnancies. Beautiful labor and deliveries with no drugs and no stitches. My A1C is perfect. My blood pressure is 110/70 on average. I have energy. I don't have heartburn or nausea or frequent headaches. The only thing that's wrong with me is appearance. I look like shrek. Let's face it, I'm doing this for selfish reasons. What If I go prodding and cutting and stapling and then have to deal with throwing up and malnutrition and hair loss and passing out and feeling weak and being cold? Will I really be happier then? I'm 25. I know things could go downhill fast. My dad is diabetic. Also my maternal grandparents. As a nurse I've seen the devastation that diabetes can have on a body. But should I just leave things alone until there's a legit medical reason for this surgery and not just how I fit into clothes?
  9. Pop is a gateway drug! Can is really eat through your pouch? Yikes!
  10. Omg! My eyebrows are sparse as it is. How scary!
  11. In conclusion, semen is a great addition to a post sleeve, high protein diet. However try not to slurp in too much air and saliva. Just let it drool out of your mouth as u go.
  12. If you have decent credit you can apply for care credit, which is a credit card that you use for medical things. Good luck!
  13. I'm just wondering how your body settles on a weight? I feel like at 800 calories I would lose down to 120 or so, which is was too small for being 5'9. Do you up calories to a maintanence range when you reach goal? What if my goal is not necessarily a good weight by doc standards? I would like to be about 180, I prefer to keep a little bit curvy, I weighed 180 before and looked fantastic. My surgeons goal for me is 140. Do I just up my calories when I get to 180? I realize I post multiple questions a day lol. I have nobody else to ask!
  14. My surgeons office told me bcbs of mi does not require prior auth so I will have my surgery and then they submit everything. Huh?? What if my insurance says no? So strange to me. Has anyone else ran into this?
  15. Let's be real or let's be ridiculous? Try a cauliflower and cheese recipe. It's just as good
  16. All I have to do is labs. No EKG no chest X-ray..nothing. I want all the extra stuff to make sure I'm not going to die
  17. The grenade looking thing. Did you have one? I'm grossed out by the thought of one in me.
  18. Ty all. I'm also super stressed about the preop diet. My surgeon says 2 weeks of protein shakes and water only. No idea how I'll survive it.
  19. I'm a nurse, and I would say try the sleeve. It also treats diabetes. Rny will not cure u, no surgery will, if u are not compliant nothing will save your kidneys.
  20. Omg!! You mean there's a chance my Fupa will go away ?? I thought for sure it would have to be cut off
