I can understand your reasoning for going to Mexico for the surgery. I tried to go through a clinic here in Oklahoma that offered a decent self pay price. However, every time I saw them they wanted more tests done that would also be on a self pay basis and the cost kept racking up.
I am so happy that I finally have my sleeve. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Yes, I went to Mexico and I got excellent care and I would do it all over again.

I live in okc and just curious if there are any other Oklahoma sleevers on this site.
I live in McAlester.

I traveled alone to Tijuana to have my gastric sleeve surgery and I survived the experience. However, in retrospect I wish that I had had some one there to at least keep my family at home informed of my recovery and just pass the time with. On flying home following the procedure, may I suggest selecting a seat behind the wall that divides the cabin. You will have much more leg room to move your legs around during a long flight.

I also was having trouble with dizziness also.

I look older since I started losing weight. I see my mother staring back at me from the mirror. Bad enough I sound like her too. LOL

This is a stupid question I know but do you need a passport to go to Tijuana ??
Some people have been able to cross the border with only a state issued "enhanced" DL and a birth certificate embossed with a raised state seal. I suggest having the passport or passport card as being the best and most efficient way to go.

I have several pairs of jeans available. I have jeggings in 26/28 in blue and black. I have boot cut and straight leg jeans in 26 tall and 26 petite. I have skinny jeans in 26 tall, and a pair of black jeans in 28. I have a variety of washes and even a pair of butt lifting jeans in 26. 90% of the jeans came from Avenue and one pair from fashion bug. I also have 2 pairs of capris from Lane Bryant one kakie one in a dark blue wash. If interested message me and I can send you photos of what there is.

I love the fact that I am losing the weight That has plagued me my whole life. But at times just seeing my face in the mirror is so hard. My face and neck sag right now so much I don't recognize myself. Ugh.

If it were me I would take the word of a so called,"Insider" with a grain of salt. However, keep in mind that no matter where or what type of surgery you may have there are complications that may or may not happen.

how is this done? I need size 24 jeans.

Thank you! I am so excited to see my scale read something that didn't make me feel like a horrible failure.

I have been wondering about her too.Whatever happened to the woman named Ruby, who had a show about losing weight? She wasn't WLS though.

I went in with my eyes wide open. It is a clinic in a strip mall. I had mine done September 6 th, and my recovery has gone well. I am glad I did it and it has really helped me a lot.

I had Dr. Almanza also and I made it.

I was taking metformin twice daily and lantis insulin at night. I am now off the metformin and reducing the lantis. I am six weeks post sleeve.

I agree with you there. The insurance plan where I work considered WLS to be "experimental" and was not covered. The surgeries have been performed for decades now. It's all about money. Treating the co-morbidities of obesity must be more lucrative.
