  1. Good luck my fellow RN. Just remember to let someone else fluff your pillow ok?
  2. My hubbys going to take some on Thursday for my before. Then I am thinking once a month for the after photos.
  3. Thank you. Just trying to make it through until surgery Friday. The band keeps slipping more and more and I'm so nausea and miserable.
  4. Sending positive vibes your way to all having surgery today! Keep us updated!
  5. So much for the completely reversible idea huh?
  6. Keep on the insurance company. Call then everyday if you have too.
  7. My surgeon said if the stomach is too inflammed than the staples won't hold and will leak. He showed me a lot ofpictures to see the difference. If mine isn't too irritated then he can do it in one if it is then it will be two steps. I'm hoping for one.
  8. Been up all night dealing with nausea and anxiety. Band slipped sometime past 2 weeks and since then I have been miserable. My new surgeon took all the saline out last week in anticipation of removing it and converting me to the sleeve this Friday. Trying to let the inflammation calm down so both can be done at once. Able to take liquids ok after couple rounds of IV fluids. Just took more meds but I am not able to sleep at all. Insomnia. Hoping I can hang in there until Friday.
  9. I'm in central OC area not too far from you. Getting my band out (it slipped) and converted to a sleeve this Friday.
  10. I'm in OC too. Kaiser has support groups. Let me check if they are open to anyone. Also St Josephs in Orange.
  11. Great idea to mix with alittle Mio.
  12. Onion? Very interesting! I will have to try that! I love home made remedies!
  13. I'm also struggling with secondary infertility. I have a 12 yr old daughter and am only 38. I heard from several reliable sources that having wls increases your fertility so am hopeful. We will begin iui once I am ready to do so....unless of course I don't need it.
  14. First call and file an appeal. Ask your doctor to also file on your behalf. I have several friends who got approved on the 2nd or 3rd appeal. Squeaky wheels get the grease!
  15. Good luck you will do great!
  16. Me too. Today I started crying not because of sadness but because I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. Almost there.....can you see it?????
  17. Is this group in your insurance plan network? Doesn't sound like it if only one surgery was covered.
  18. I believe we can all learn something from anyone who has this procedure, considering the procedure, or coverting from band to this procedure. The common denominator is we all know the deep pain we feel about being heavy. Its not something we can readily talk about with just any body. Especially someone who is naturally thin. I value everyones point of view and experience. I find it all fascinating. Please, let's all just come from a place of gentle encouragement.
  19. I hate taking meds too. Nurses make the worst patients second only to doctors!
  20. My husband started tearing up when I had him sign my advance directive. That hit home for me and I started crying too. It is a roller coaster of emotions for me too. Mine is 4 days from now....
