  1. You can try prevacid its stronger than prilosec or maybe you just weren't taking a high enough dosage. Usual dose for pepcid is only 10mg daily.
  2. Yes better than prilosec. I'm taking pepcid 20mg (not 10 mg) two times a day. I have no reflux.
  3. Yes it is. He also said if it fits inside your wedding ring you can swallow it meaning my pepcid and vitamins.
  4. I had hip pain for decades. Finally recently went to a chiropractor. Changed my life. I had 3 treatments and am now pain free. As a nurse I had always poo pooed it but it does work. And I got a massage there too. Wonderful.
  5. That's interesting about the card. Haven't heard about that. I will definately look in to restaurants that are sleeve friendly.
  6. Wow great ideas!!! I will try those protein crepes and crustless quiches for sure!
  7. I am doing poached eggs. Lots of good quality protein. I hate the shakes.
  8. Just a thought maybe not to eat solids so soon. It could cause a leak which they make you stay in the hospital for months while it heals. Not worth it.
  9. I'm a case manager for a large hospital. People file appeals all the time. Go for it!
  10. Wow you could eat pizza? Barely can do soup. Went for my post op appt today. I am losing about a pound today which the doc said was really good. I started at 223 and now am 209. Working on poached egg and refried beans.
  11. Its true the overweight people are the most judgemental.
  12. Appeal. File an appeal with your insurance company. I know a few people who got approved after the 2nd or 3rd appeal. You can do this!
  13. I vote ditch the lapband and get sleeved! 1,000x better!
  14. Let me just share with you what my surgeon just told me 30 minutes ago at my first post op appt. I have the same compliants as you... tired not able to choke down the protein shakes still having pain not getting enough water. What he said was in his decades long career as a bariatric surgeon the patients who struggle the most initially end up being the greatest success stories. It gave me hope. I hope it does you too. Hang in there.
  15. Isn't it funny that people are so discriminating against weight loss surgery? And yet they have no problem with injecting their faces with toxins or augmenting their boobs. How do those things help their "health"? Weight loss surgery has a direct benefit on the health of the patient. Sure we can lose some weight dieting but it more than likely comes back after the diet. This is not a "cosmetic procedure" but a "life saving procedure" and should be respected as such.
  16. I have done a lot of vomiting post op but not even the same as when I had the band. Can I say its more natural?
  17. That band failed you. It is not a good device and I am sure it will be recalled with the failure and complications rate which exceeds FDA standards.
  18. Sounds like you are on the right path. I have a new doctor too and he is amazing. I'm sure once your new doc goes in and takes a look you will have more issues than just the port like I did. My previous doc butchered me (my new surgeon words). You will feel better post sleeve. I am on pepcid twice daily but the reflux has been well controlled. It feels different than the band. More natural.
  19. My post op problems are directly related to the lapband damage the previous surgeon had done. My case is definately not the norm and yes I would get the band out and sleeve all over again. If I could I would have gotten the sleeve and never got the lapband. I'm only 11 days post op so I'm still sore, still have external staples, and am on the liquid soup phase. I know this will pass soon.
  20. That is so true about pushing on the port not mention when my port migrated slightly under my rib cage. Ouch!
  21. Even with all the post sleeve complications, I feel 1,000% better without the crapband. It is so nice not to choke or vomit up anything that goes in my mouth!
  22. Same for me. Only lost 40 pounds in 2 years with the crapband.
  23. Just the simple truth. How is it going now for you?
  24. Try vitamelts zinc it melts on your tongue. I also crush my pills even though it tastes horrible its better than being stuck. 2 years of stuck episodes with the lapband I am traumatized.
