Heard on talk radio today that plastic surgery can make you look younger but not necessarily more attractive. In a study they polled people whether photos of plastic surgery patients were more attractive post op. Overwhelmingly they said no. Interesting....

My hubby is out trying to find prepackaged little containers of pickles so I can bring them on our Cabo trip tomorrow. Doubt there are pickles in Mexico.

yep. Darn starvation mode.

I tried a skinny margarita homemade and did ok with sipping it slow. It was very low sugar which I think helped and weak on the liquor.

Secret info.
Some vendors PAY for referrals and if docs order their equipment or products.
Just saying. Not ethical but it does happen a lot.

I was on driving restriction for 2 weeks post op. Of course I drove after 1 week. Big mistake. I was so sore in my belly. But many others have no problems driving sooner.

My doc suggested iced tea or flavoring in the Water even if it was just lemon. I find it easier to get down.

Curious what everyone is doing to make positive changes in their overall life- not just weight loss related- this week?
One thing I'm doing is making a little quiet time each night to read something interesting. Calms my nerves.
I also made time to sit out on my patio with my hubby with tea and relax. I'm always moving so fast normally.
How about you all?

I am all for natural remedies . My parents were big time hippies. I wasn't fat until I got a job as a teen and could buy my own food.< /p>

Yep. Dill Pickle Juice. I pour half a shot glass and sip it over a couple of minutes. This totally works. I imagine green olives would do the same. I have been miserable for 5 weeks. This has been the only thing that works. And I don't wake up at 4am anymore either.

I felt the same way. Then I decided to try Syntrax nectar lemon tea flavor. I mix it in 2 to 4 oz of Water and add ice, and shoot it like a shot of tequila. So much better than anything milky based and great if you have low tolerance for volumes over 2 ounces like me. I do it four times a day and since it mixes with cold Water you can take it anywhere and add 2 ounces of water.
Just pretend its a tequila shot and shoot it.

Surgeon recommended drinking a few sips of Pickle Juice twice day to help with acid and "foamies". Weird but it totally works. I haven't had any nausea, no vomitting, and no need for meds other than my prilosec since I started drinking it.
Might be helpful to anyone who is struggling with acid or nausea or bloating after eating.
I can now drink all my liquid requirement and all the Protein requirement. This is huge for me since I have not been able to meet either since surgery June 28th. I'm feeling so much better.

Do you have a whole foods market? They have the bars there.

I like bigsleeve's idea....hee hee hee. Love it when some uppity surgeon gets his cage rattled by a patient.

I'm a rebel. I'd rather be "hot" than fugly and "healthy" while I'm still young enough to enjoy it..... like a bikini!

So I went to the Vitamin Shoppe looking for this glorious Syntrax Nectar mix I've been reading about. Walked in and two clerks (neither looking particularly healthy themselves) asked what I was looking for. Asked, " do you have Syntrax nectar? "
Silence.
"Oh no, we don't have that."
Silence.
Now, I'm sure I read someone saying they had it so I decided to look around. There, in the Protein Powder section a huge ceiling to floor section of guess what? Syntrax Nectar. In every flavor you can imagine.
I grab lemon tea flavor (great by the way), walk up to the counter and say " uh, yeah you do."
Silence.
Come people, this isn't a big store. Know your stock. And don't counsel me at the checkout that Isopure is "better for me" either when you are missing several teeth.
Uggh. Idiots, I tell you!

I have two ladies in my office who both had bypass. Started out about same stats and had surgery about same time . One lost most of her weight by 2 years at least 150 pounds. The other one lost 40 pounds and eats like a horse. Both of them were very interested in my lapband and now my sleeve. Haven't been back to work yet but I'm already 28 pounds lighter. Surgeon says people get used to the packed esophagus feeling, especially lapband patients, and keep eating and eating.
Weight loss is weight loss be it slow or fast. So long as the number keeps going down and stays down what more could your doc ask for?
