It might be hard to see right now but everything happens for a reason. Use this to motivate you to be the best you can be work out hard, get strong, concentrate on you, and soon enough another woman will come along and if not her then perhaps another. Better it happened now than when children are involved.

One thing I've noticed from cheaters is they don't take responsibility for their actions. It's always the other person's fault. "You don't do this, you're not the same, blah blah! " There are far better ways to end a relationship than straight up betrayal!
I'm so sorry you're going through this. I can't even imagine how you feel. I hope you find peace and move on. 10 years is a long time and it will take time to heal. I can assure you that you are not broken and you will find someone who appreciates you! Focus on you now. Good luck to you!

8 moths post-op. It's been a while I have posted but here it is. Not at goal yet but getting there! Before high was 263 currently 169 took that pic about 2 weeks ago so I've lost a few more since then.

    My experiences 7.5 months post-op:
*Spicy - I've grown a bit more sensitive to spicy, but I still enjoy it and it does not bother my sleeve. I just can't tolerate quite the heat I could before.
*Salads - I've eaten salads since about 3 months post-op. I just make sure I don't eat any "just lettuce" bites - I always make sure they meat and/or cheese with each bite. No issues whatsoever.
*Protein - My surgeon is not protein-crazy. He believes 60 g daily is sufficient. I have been losing okay and have not lost hair, so I tend to think he's right. Anyhow, I make sure I have Protein at each meal, but I don't focus just on it - I very much think that fruits and veggies are important in our diets, and taking them in pill form is not the same as eating them in their natural state. I eat fruit as a snack daily and I eat veggies with nearly every meal. I try to do 2 bites protein to 1 bite veggie. So far, it seems to be working.
    Good luck!

Don't drink the New Whey Protein bullets. They have collagen and your body doesn't absorb.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I know most ppl think about what they will and won't be able to eat post-op and alot of it is the less than healthy favs we might have but I have questions regarding healthier options.
*Spicy foods? Will I be able to eat them post-op? If not right away when? I LOVE spicy foods. In fact I am growing multiple jalapeno and habanero plants, because I love them so much. I know spicy can cause acid issues but are they intolerable? If I can't have spicy I think this is what I will miss most post-op
*Salads? I know salads are really against the rules but when I think protien first, then think about the fact that for several months post-op my sleeve will be the most restricted I wonder if I will have room for the greens? I am also growing several greens that I use in salads, but I could learn to accept this one knowing that eventually my sleeve will relax slightly allowing me a tiny salad on occasion but I am curious how far out it was before some of the post-op'ers were before they could enjoy a good salad without sacrificing precious protien space. I.e- when there you able to have a salad WITH a protien source and NOT end up eating only the protien because there was no room for the greens?
*In relation to the salad question- We are told protien first BUT protien is not the only nutrient we need. We need to get the Vitamins and nutrients provided in non-protien sources as well if the intent is truely to become healthier. How do YOU balance the need for protien with the need for the Vitamins and minerals not provided in protien sources with such a tiny place to put it in? I know we have to take vitamins but I'd like to have the bulk of my nutrition come from food not pills and since I have not yet been sleeved I don't yet know what i will be able to consume with a sleeve and protien first mantra. Many say they could only eat a couple bites of protien before becoming full, esp early on... where do the fruits and veggies fit in (pun intended)?
    Thanks in advance

I'm guessing it depends what your Protein Bars are made of. Most are not good for you and full of sugar and carbs. Perhaps that's what your body. Is reacting to.
A lot of people only use bars if they can't get their Protein from the natural source. Should never be consumed on a daily basis

Surgery was Monday at 8 am. Only took 1hr 20 min. dr said it went fast as all was good. Took pain Med only till Tuesday at 5 am. They took drain out and then was released Tuesday and home by 6 pm. Slept well most of night on both sides...I do not sleep well on my back......up most of today, gas is around but walking helps......not overly thirsty so hard to get all liquids in....so far did 1/2 bottle of Water, 1/2 sugar free Popsicle, a few bites of Jello and lots of ice chips. Not in pain but certainly tender. Everyday I hope keeps getting better. But so far it's been expected.

Yes I agree with Cheer Mama, the GasX strips were a lifesaver. I also had some biotene dry mouth spray for when you come out of surgery and cannot drink yet but you need your mouth to have a little more moisture.
Get up and walk walk walk! This and the GasX strips will help with the gas pain.
Not sure if you are married or if you live with someone but have things prepared for when you return home with whatever your NUT and surgeon have told you to eat/drink after surgery. You dont want to have to go to the grocery store on your way home.
Be patient with yourself! It will take time to lose the weight, you will have stalls but you WILL lose the weight! Set goals for yourself along the way, not just the final goal. Some examples are: 1st 5 pounds, BMI goals, Clothing sizes etc.
If you are an emotional or boredom eater, be prepared to have other things to do in place of eating. Have someone to talk to, go for a walk, take a bath, exercise, but be prepared to have to deal with this.
Also, it was good for me (and my family) to clean out all the foods that got me in the position I was in. All the fast and easy foods like crackers, Cookies etc. If they aren't around, they cant be a temptation because they very well can be.
You can do this! Keep coming back to the Forum and get/give support. Let us know how it goes!
