    My first NSV

Thank you guys so much. I have to say something about the rings lol. I had always wanted a princess cut diamond and when my husband proposed it was not with this ring. He was so sweet that he returned the original ring and let me pick this one out. Also i had them sized up once already and then still couldn't wear them. I am so excited to have then on i can't stop looking at them. Btw I am really not a jewelry wearing girl.
  2. I have had a rapid heart beat for a few years now. After lots of testing i have been on 50mg of atenelol for about three years now. Taken in one dose a day. After surgery the surgeon told me to cut pills in half and take twice a day. Called cardiologist yesterday for a refill and asked to change to 25mg twice a day so i wouldn't have too cut them. Well they called me back tonight saying no way i need to take one 50 a day. I am going to listen to cardiologist because i feel they know better how there meds work. I am just writing this to see if anyone else had dealt with anything like this? Many times in the last month (since surgery) o have felt my heart racing but couldn't figure out why. I guess that's why.

    Tachycardia

Yes i told them i was getting it. His words were something asking the lines of me being even better looking and healthier. He's an obese man said he would follow my success. That was the first time i met him because my original cardiologist, his partner, had passed away. He never mentioned changing the dose and when i called yesterday i said i had the bariatric surgery and that it was that surgeon that changed my dose

    Sleevers by profession.

I am currently a stay at home mom of three ages 6 to 16. I do a lot of volunteering both at the elementary school my two youngest attend and also with the Plymouth area coalition for the homeless (we put homeless men up in local churches for about six months a year, feeding them dinner and making sure there are always two chaperones with them). I was previously a preschool teacher with a short stint in a toddler room and was also an infant teacher. Would love to go back to school for social services. Sleeved August 28 down 32 lbs as of this morning
  5. I was sleeved 8-28-13. I was home on 8-30 (Friday) back to er the next Friday for vomiting, weakness and apparent dehydration. Did a barium swallow that showed lots of swelling in lower stomach so fluids were barely getting through causing the vomiting and dehydration. Spent another two nights in hospital came home Sunday afternoon. Went hinge in clear fluids but Wednesday they said to try full fluids again. Week Saturday was back in er in tears. Couldn't drink anything, couldn't keep anything down at all. Could barely walk was so weak. Well did a ct with contrast which showed really no issues. Due to me being so dehydrated i was again admitted. Was quickly filled with iv fluids. Sunday morning they did another barium swallow which showed my esophagus was very swollen. Nothing by mouth till Monday, finally back in clear fluids, Tuesday for dinner we tried full fluids again. They stayed down so after fulls again Wednesday morning they decided i could go home. I was sent home after lunch Wednesday. Thursday they put me on stage 4 squishy foods. Was doing ok on foods. Actually was really scared to try most foods. Well ten days later i had only vomited a couple times due to eating or drinking to fast. Well in the past few days i have vomited at least once a day every day again. I can't drink water at all, its gross, it somehow causes mental anguish to drink, i am just not thirsty at all. I had about 16 to 20oz of fluid today, maybe a little more with my soup and meds. I want to cry at the thought of drinking anything right now. I need to take my meds to go to bed and i don't want to. I have tried flavored, unflavored it doesn't matter i can't drink water. I can feel myself getting weak again, i have that small feeling of a headache coming on but never really getting full blown. I also do not get enough protein. I have not felt "good" for two or three days. Well i think that about covers everything at the moment. Maybe this should have been in the rants i don't know.

    I just don't know

Currently i cannot drink it unless i use a straw. Please don't judge me on that. Prior to using the straw i couldn't even drink a 16oz bottle a day. Added straw was up to 48 but going backwards again. I was not a huge beverage intake type before surgery so its just as hard as its always been. I have to spend threw hours tomorrow at the boys elementary school so i will try to get 16 oz or more of tea in before i go and bring water then go back to whatever will go down after i get back home Thank you for every single response. I am reading them all and taking notes. I want to drink more and bought some sugar free hot chocolate to try also. I don't need to be 100% yet i just want to have energy

    I just don't know

If your not tolerating food I'd say go back to full liquids! Frankly I'm surprised they pushed you that fast onto mushy food... Staying hydrated is the most important thing right now. Laura i just want to cry. I even called the near line at surgeons office today due to some pain and Tylenol wasn't touching it and noone called me back. My Dr is in office on Mondays and if you leave a message before four nurses are supposed to call you back . I guess its just been an all around not good day On a positive note i do not want to pity eat today

    I just don't know

I do have warm decaf tea every day. But for some reason if its in a coffee cup i can drink only half if i put it in a to go cup i can usually drink it all. Maybe i will try to sick to the tea all day tomorrow

    I just don't know

Thank you. I am just feeling so discouraged.i know i did this surgery for the long term and have to remind myself this is still very short term. I am just mentally done with it. I barely ever vomited pre op (honestly twice a year was a lot) now it happens daily. I keep going back to full fluids for 24 hours but as soon as i try foods they come back up. I do not like my kids seeing new like this

    August 28th

Kelly thank you for your kind words. Every once and awhile i get that twinge of regret but i keep saying it can't be this bad forever. Still having a hard time with keeping things in and definitely not getting anywhere near enough fluids

    August 28th

Sorry to hear that Kelly. I am doing ok now. Spent the first three weeks in and out of hospital for dehydration due to swelling. Weight was going up and down during that time but steadily going down now

    August sleevers progress

I am getting much better at trying new foods, maybe being scared of food was a better thing. Lost 32 pounds so far one month post op

    Who DOESN'T have a pre-op diet?

I had no pre-op diet. Day before normal breakfast, light lunch clear liquids after drinking the mag citrate nothing after midnight.
  16. Adding here. Last night i had caffeinated coffee and it was delicious so i followed it with some pizza (granted only a few bites) and finished dinner off with one peanut butter cracker. But i want more i want more. 1/3 of a slice of a large pizza and one cracker did not fill my head hunger at all. And cheesecake sounds delicious, might go buy a tub of the filling then i don't need to worry about the crust And why would one puree tootsie rolls? Ahh they melt in my mouth.
  17. Oh boy lets see...i am one month post OP today. I cannot get my fluids in for the day without a straw. I have never made a protein shake. My downfall is crackers. I have done daily either in soup, with cheese spread, or with peanut butter. I usually can only get in five or six glasses of water. I usually try to eat to much food because i don't believe that small amount can fill me. And for my final confession of the moment, i am trying new recipes that may or may not sound good because my family has to try it and if i don't like it its only five bites while they have to suffer. Yes i am evil

    Gerd better after surgery?

My sleeve and i are still getting to know each other but i will say the first ten days after surgery were awful for the reflux at night. On prilosec 2x a day for a month but after those first ten days i can see a big difference and may not need prilosec at all once i am one month post OP
  23. I guess there is nothing "wrong" just a little swelling. Finally trying full liquids again today. If they stay down i can go home.
  24. At Tobey been here since Saturday afternoon with severe dehydration. Had a barium swallow this morning and apparently getting an upper gi endoscopy.

Was readmitted to hospital 9 days post OP for nausea heartburn and vomiting. At er realized i was also dehydrated. Spent two nights and over half that time on strictly iv fluids and ice chips. Been home 5 days now and if i can't get past drinking water. I do eat two sf puddings a day to take my yummy crushed needs, but aside from that i am strictly sipping water and can't seem to get more than 24oz a day.
