Hi all! I'm 55 years old and was sleeved on Nov. 6, 2012. I lost 45 pounds in the 6 month pre-sleeve diet, and have lost another 51 pounds since I was sleeved 18 weeks ago. My start weight was 285 pounds, and I'm 5"3" tall. I wore a PLUS size 26 W pants, and a PLUS size 3-X tops. I now wear a size 16 regular pants, and a large shirt. I feel so much better, and can do so much more! I have 39 pounds to go, but have hit a stall at 189 pounds for about a week now. They say it's normal, and we all hit stalls. I hope it doesn't last to long. I have lost over 45" all over my body, and all my blood work this passed month was PERFECT! No more high B.P. or meds to take for it, great blood sugar levels, great cholesterol, even my kidneys are working perfect now! My doctor doesn't even know why that is, but she's thrilled about it! LOL No more acid re-flux, and all my joints are feeling better too. For my work outs I do Zumba 2 on our Wii, and I love it! I burn over 600 calories in a 48 minute work out, and it's FUN! In the spring, summer, and fall I go for walks with our dogs, and ride my 5 speed cruiser bike with my husband. This will be my first summer in over 25 years to buy, and WEAR a bathing suit. I'm looking forward to summer for a change! It's not always been easy, but it's SO WORTH IT! Kathy

    BBQ Turkey Meatballs
    Ingredients
    1- 1.5 pounds ground turkey
½ cup onion, very finely minced
    1 egg
    ¼ cup breadcrumbs
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon chili powder
    ½ teaspoon paprika
    ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
    ¾ cup BBQ Sauce, divided
    2 tablespoons oil

    Instructions
Pre-heat the oven to 375. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (not totally required but makes for much easier cleanup!).
In a large bowl, using your hands, mix together all the ingredients except the BBQ sauce and oil.
Mix in 3-4 tablespoons of the BBQ sauce; enough to help it bind and add flavor. If you feel like your mixture is too moist add more breadcrumbs.
Heat the oil in the skillet.
Roll the turkey mixture into 1½ inch balls and drop into the heated skillet in batches (I cook about 8 at a time) Roll them around after a minute so they brown relatively evenly. Remove the browned meatballs to the prepared baking sheet and repeat until they are all browned.
Spoon the remaining BBQ sauce over each meatball and bake for 15-20 minutes, until they are cooked through.
Serve with more BBQ sauce if you’re feeling saucy.

    Notes
I usually get about 36 meatballs from this recipe.

Needed new bathing suit that fit right after losing 80 lbs. have a big trip planned in a month. The thought of going to stores and trying on suits was not appealing. So went to Penney's web site and ordered 2 bottoms and 4 tops. Best decision ever. In the comfort of my own home tried them on and one of the bottoms fit perfectly and so did one of the tops. My boobs are even very well supported and pulled up where they belong. It is so cute. I will not be self conscious around the pool on this trip. I did the same thing with bras but that did not work out so well. Heading to the stores to return the suits and bras. Bought from places I could return to stores instead of mailing back.

    Hi everyone,
Wanted to take a minute and introduce myself. My bf had the sleeve a year ago in May and I finally got enough courage up and decided to do it also. We have a 3 year old grandson that we are raising and I want to be around for a long time to see him grow up. Between the obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes I know that probably won't be a reality without the surgery. I had my first surgeon appt on June 12 and am now waiting for insurance authorization for all of my specialist appts. I'm hoping to get the surgery by the end of August because my insurance changes on Sept 1st and the new insurance requires me to see a nutritionist for 6 months before they will authorize the surgery. I am so glad that I found this website and look forward to sharing my journey.
