someone help me..im craving oreo cookies!
How about a sugar free fudge pop? Or some sugar free chocolate pudding? Not the same as an Oreo cookie but it will give you that chocolate taste you are looking for and keep you from straying on your program. I think the pudding has about 70 calories and its made with skim milk and the sf fudge pops have even less...just an idea. :-)

Its been two years since I logged on almost 3 years out Before and Afters
You look fabulous!!! Congrats on getting to goal so fast but also for maintaining it!!! So how is it two years out? Do you still feel any restriction in your tummy or are you just used to eating healthier?

Recommended supplement amounts
Everyone's dosage might be different but I was told to take the maximum dose of over the counter iron that my drug store carried...which was 65 grams of iron. As far as the B-12, I have to take the sublingual kind...one droplet full per day. Consult your doctor first...but I hope this helps!!

Drinking fluids post op
I am going through the same thing. My taste buds change all the time. I can't do those "sweet" unsweetened drinks either. Right now it's plain water, occasionally G2, and mostly water with lemon. I make a big pitcher of water, add sliced up lemons and a few limes and some ice. It is delicious! It gets more and more refreshing each day! Try it and let me know what you think!

Body pain

Body pain
I was feeling bad and they put me on mega doses of Vitamin D....like 50,000 units a week! My number was a 6!! Did they give you additional supplements? If it doesn't get better, I would call your doctor. Because we are not eating a lot we are missing vital nutrients so we have get them in. Btw...I hate taking Vitamins...I'm thinking about getting one of those pill boxes that my grandmother used to have just so I can keep up with all of them!! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Pain? On a scale from one to ten?
Yeah, for me the gas pain was the worst! My pain tolerance is not the high so I would give it a 7! It hit me about a week after the surgery! Ugh! Only lasted a couple of days...I had to walk it out!!

Weight has slightly creeped up, whats up?
Ok...before I give my opinion let me just stress that this is just that...my opinion. I am about 8 weeks out. Sleeved on 6/25. I totally understand the latte/frappe urge. I too used to indulge. I would suggest a substitute. No it's not gonna taste the same but it's better for you right now. Try a latte with non fat milk and stevia and maybe try a little flavor. And no whipped cream...not right now. I know...it sucks...but listen...everyone says that the first two years of the sleeve are the best time to take advantage of this tool. You just went through major surgery...you gotta slow down cuz it sounds like you are digging up some old habits...and it would be so easy to fall back into our old ways....you gotta resist the urge! Fight! As far as food, I would swap out some of those yogurts for more meat - hamburger, steak, fish, etc. I love yogurt too but some of them are sweet and you can get more bang for your buck in terms of grams of Protein with meat. Eating more dense protein may also help curb your appetite for that sweet coffee. As far as exercise, do you have headphones? If so, put on your sneakers and get moving! I have to push myself most days, cuz I'd rather not...but then I think about the fact that less than two months ago, I was laid up in the hospital getting my stomach cut out...and I didn't do that for nothing so I've got to stay on course!! This is your time. You have the opportunity to create a new you. This is your chance for a do over! You will succeed! You've already lost weight! Oh yeah, you didn't mention Water....get that water in...get yourself a special cup that you use just for water... a little corny, maybe...but my big red cup has helped me get it in!! Ok, let's see...I think that's it...hope this isn't too preachy...if so, sorry...just wanted to pass on some of the encouragement and advice that I have received! You know what to do kiddo...JUST DO IT!!! :-) I wish you every success!

Anyone develop pleurisy post op?
This isn't exactly the same thing but I've have breathing problems too. I sing in church every Sunday and I've noticed that I lose my breathe very quickly now. We usually sing for about 45 min and I barely made it. By the time we were done (and yes, I had to Milli Vanilli some parts, lol) I was short of breath, a little dizzy and I had a headache. A friend of mine is a nurse who works with bariatric patients and she said that this is not uncommon....just a part of the healing process. Hope you feel better!

Breaking the stall
That's very interesting. I too was wondering about the amount of protein and also, how can you eat a "big" salad? Will your sleeve tolerate that at 8 months out? Well, every doctor seems to give different advice and each of us have our own personal experience with the sleeve....so I wish you success!! A two month stall has to be a little frustrating so I applaud you for hanging in there!
