    Breaking the stall

That's very interesting. I too was wondering about the amount of protein and also, how can you eat a "big" salad? Will your sleeve tolerate that at 8 months out? Well, every doctor seems to give different advice and each of us have our own personal experience with the sleeve....so I wish you success!! A two month stall has to be a little frustrating so I applaud you for hanging in there!

    Eggs

Eggs are one of the foods that I can enjoy with no discomfort. I also use the egg to introduce new foods to test my tolerance. Ex. Eggs with mushrooms, eggs with spinach and cheese, eggs and salsa, etc. so yes, I enjoy the whole egg...yoke and all!
  3. Make it and take it...anywhere else but your frig! Wayyyyyy too tempting! Don't put yourself through the stress of having the cookies call out to you in the middle of the night only to find yourself sitting at your kitchen counter with a milk mustache and an empty plate filled with cookies crumbs!!!
  4. Thank you all for your comments! This is such an exciting journey we are on and I appreciate how supportive everyone is. God bless!
  5. Hi Everyone, I was just wondering what everyone's full feeling actually felt like. I am about 8 weeks out (sleeved on 6/27) and I don't think I have actually felt full in my stomach yet. After a few bites I feel a fullness in my throat (if that makes sense) and I know that my meal is over. I think up until now, the most I've eaten in one sitting is about 5 bites. Just wondering....what does your full feeling actually feel like?

    Bread and rice

Omg! I was just about to post something about this! I just had two bites of thin crust pizza...I know it's not on my plan but I was curious to see how I would tolerate a little bread after all this time. Not only did it taste different (my taste buds are doing their own thing since surgery) but now my stomach is doing flips!!! I never thought I'd say this but ...."goodbye pizza! We had a good run! No no...it's not you, it's me!" Another unhealthy relationship bites the dust!!! Lol
  7. My surgeon told me to keep it simple. You have to be careful with the blended soups early on because of so many ingredients. You are really starting over with food so you want to start slow so that if something doesn't sit well with your taste buds or your new stomach, you can identify it and avoid it. Since the soup was blended (sounds delicious, though) it may be hard to pin point the culprit! Keep it simple and you should be fine....if things don't get better, I would check with your doctor.

    Difficult question to ask.

I have not any problems like you describe. The only problems I have heard like that are people who are not following what their NUT told them to do. Like eating sugary products, eating too many carbs, etc. The sleeve is the least evasive of all of the WLS procedures. It has the least amount of risks and side effects too! Yes, I love my sleeve! :-)

    Help with PCOS diet

Hi Kami, I have PCOS as well. In my pre op diet I lost 29 lbs. since surgery (6/27/13) I have lost 20lbs. I was feeling a little down...even after I spoke to my surgeon because he didn't seem too thrilled with my weight loss either. He told me I was at the "low end." Anyway, I have since changed my attitude and I Celebrate EVERY success...even my non scale victories! You will be successful, even if it goes a little slower than other people. The point is...you are losing!!!! Celebrate that!! Since you know that you stall often just make sure you stay on track during those times. Also, find some fun things to do during those times in order to take your mind off of it....bowling, movies, long walks, etc. that stall will not last forever! So...about what I eat. I eat 5 small meals a day, all focused around Protein of course! Each meal is about 10-15 grams of protein. So, one day might be 1. Greek yogurt 2. Drumstick 3. Small Protein shake 4. Another piece of baked chicken 5. About 3/4 cup of chilli. The amounts are pretty small, even though it may seem like a lot of food. I can only take 3-5 bites of anything before I'm full. So, I only count each meal as 10-15 grams of protein. I also drink Water in between these meals. Sol, I hope this helps a little. I just want to encourage you...slow and steady WINS THE RACE!!! We can do this! :-)

    Less hungry further out

I'm about 7 weeks out and I experience the same thing. Some days it's a push to eat anything. Other days I have to be really careful about my choices because I feel so hungry. The good thing about the sleeve it that it literally halts my bad decisions. I went out with some friends and decided to "taste" a few things that I hadn't had in a while....two forkfuls of fried rice...I was done for the night! All I could at that point was enjoy some good conversation and wait out the 45 minutes until I could drink something!!!! The next day, I wasn't hungry at all! Go figure!!

    Tired of boring plain water?

I have tried the same thing with slices of lemon and lime. I'm going to try the cucumber ....sounds delicious! :-)

    Tired of boring plain water?

Hi! This response is not about your answer but about your ticker!!! Omg!! 143lbs in 7 months! That is fantastic and so encouraging!! Congratulations!! My surgery was June 27th. I'm down about 42lbs so far...that number includes my pre op weight loss. You are my hero!!!! :-)
  13. Ok, I know some people lose slow but I must be the slowest!! I started at 382. I lost 29lbs in a 3 week pre op diet. Since surgery (June 27th) I've only lost 11lbs!!! My doc asked me a million questions and did not seem pleased. I walk 2 miles a day, sip water constantly, and try to get my protein in. I am moving to soft foods like fish. I probably average 45-60 grams a day. I know I need to work on that. But I am not eating more than 700-800 calories a day. For a big girl, eating this small amount, wouldn't you think I would be dropping the weight a little faster??? So, this stall has been about 2 weeks. Anyone experience this so early?? I'm about to go walking...maybe I'll try to do 3 miles instead of 2. Any slow losers out there??

    ONLY 11bs so far?

Thank you so much! I am not going to give up! Gonna fight the good fight! Thanks again!
  15. Sounds like you are on the right path! I wish you well!!
  16. Ok, so I'm doing my pre op liquid diet. 4 bottles of slim fast high protein shakes, some veggies and a handful of fruit. Seriously??? Is it me? I am soooo hungry! These bottles of slim fast are so small! I don't want to mess up but I feel like I could eat my arm!!! Any suggestions??? I'm trying to fill up on water....
  17. Very nice!!! And very encouraging!!

    I started crying

    Excellent! :-)
  19. Congratulations on your success!!!! Any words of wisdom for someone in the early stages? I was sleeved June 27th. Highest weight 382. Day of surgery 353. Currently 345...only 8lbs since surgery...and slightly discouraged that the scale is not moving faster. :-(

    Gas pains

Yes!!! I thought I was going to pass out! I couldn't sleep...no position was comfortable...sitting, standing...I was miserable. I had to push pass the pain and WALK! My doctor said that this was the only way to cause your body to absorb the gas and he was right. Mine only lasted 2 days but it was terrible! I hope things get better for you! Just keep saying...this too shall pass!!! :-)

    Drinks.....

My doctor to told me that I could drink 15 minutes before the meal and 1 hour after a meal. What if you got the Water as soon as you sat down, drank some and then stopped. This way, you could still have a little something to drink before your meal and then wait that 15 minutes before your food comes. Might be worth a try...

    Protein Powder!

You are so right! Before surgery I loved the Isopure protein drinks. After surgery, I can't drink them at all! I even did a taste test on about 7 flavors, no luck!
  23. My pre op diet was only two weeks but I know how you feel. I was hungry and miserable until around day 4. I was like, why would they put this unreasonable demand on me? If I could lose weight on my own, then I wouldn't need surgery!!! Duh!!! But then I changed my thinking. In addition to losing weight, the pre op diet helps to shrink the size of your liver prior to surgery. The smaller your liver is, the easier it will be for your surgeon to do his job. So I tried to focus on that. The good thing is that you can have foods other than shakes. One of the things I did on my pre op diet was that I "treated" myself to the grilled chicken market salad at Chic Fil-A every few days. It has fresh greens, grilled chicken, strawberries and blueberries. It was delicious and it gave me something to look forward to. Also, try blending some frozen fruit with your shake. It makes them taste sooooooo much better and it's another sweet treat for you!! Hope this helps a little. I lost 22lbs on my pre op diet. Hang in there!!!! You can do it! You are worth it!!!!!

    Two Years Four Months

My surgeon told me up front that after the surgery I would never be able to take Motrin or Alleve again because of the high risk of ulcers. So it's either extra strength Tylenol or a prescription from my doc.
  25. I agree with Shelprice. I had horrible pain after my surgery (Surgery date June 27th) and I was given the same advice and it helped. The only other thing I would suggest is to hold a pillow on your stomach whenever you sit up or move around. I can tell you that it does get better. Do you have good meds? I was given Rixocet - which is like a liquid form of Vicidin. Worked very well but I had to use it sparingly because there were no refills. :-( Sorry that your hubby is not more supportive. No one can know your pain but you!! When I was going through I received a lot of support from the kind people on this forum. I wish you well. Hang in there. It will be worth it once the weight starts to drop. Just keep repeating..."This too shall pass!" Take care!
